The nearest docks are fishable for those seeking to fish. I heard that when the Washington boat leaves, that's the spot you want to cast from cause it stirs up the bottom and that's when this fish comes out from the docks. They have bathrooms on the beach. I didn't go inside to see how they were but my sister in-law did with my son so it must of been manageable. They had some large trees by the entrance which could be used as shade if you didn't bring an umbrella. Would I return: Yes. IF the lake vibes is what we are looking for. We personally like rivers and waterfalls better.

They could not perform until after memorial day! I have heated storage and pay for full service of my boat every year. But being a long term well paying customer is now ignored. When my boat was not ready at Memorial day weekend, I then asked for a short delay for delivery (service could continue). They did nothing to ready my boat. I am now waiting another 1.5+ weeks, hopefully to get the boat. New ownership is not able to keep up with heated storage and full service. I would buy a boat somewhere else if you are expecting loyalty in service.

I've always had a great experience camping here, and have gone each year for about 5 years. We don't care about the pool or wifi, don't care about what kinds of programming for families they may have, or any of the other things camp grounds are pushing these days. We want a somewhat private site, we want to be able to keep our fire going as late as we want (as long as it is under control), and we want to be able to keep our music playing at a reasonable level. We have never been told to put out our fire during quiet hours, or to turn off our music. We can stay up all night having a great time by the fire and playing cards without being broken up, but everyone plays by the same rules meaning it is not a wild place and we have never encountered other sites being too loud for our enjoyment. If you're looking for some old fashioned camping - even in an RV - where you can enjoy being outside with good company all night, this is a great spot. The staff has always been pleasant as well and the rates are comparable to nearby grounds.

Clearwater has a lake, but the lots are more jammed packed and not as spacious. Clearwater seems to be more family friendly with a playground, lake, etc. Meredith is more laid back and quiet. Meredith also has an indoor pool and hot tub which is nice. The staff at both places were very friendly and both have a nice store. We drove over to Clearwater to spend the day on the beach/lake. We rented kayaks which were very decently priced ($6 single, $12 double for 2 hrs.). The water was very clear and the beach was pretty large. The only downside to our camp site was a fence beside us. It made it feel a bit less woodsy. I also felt they could clean up around the store and grounds a bit. It looks a bit rundown. Same with the docks at Clearwater. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again!

There is no parking along the road leading to the beach, and there are no other roads. So unless you know someone who lives by the beach and can park at their house, you have to have pass--the same one used for the transfer station. This beach is perfect for little kids! It's kind of a hidden jewel and I'm sure the town wants it to stay that way. I have been here twice. The water only ever gets to just above my waist-I am 5'3-within the boundaries. There are two bathrooms and slides/swings for when the kids need to switch it up. There are picnic tables and some shaded areas. It's a small beach but it's my favorite and I wish non-residents could purchase a pass because I would in a heart beat. My kids and I love this beach.

There is ample shade provided by tall pines. The bottom of the lake is mostly clay not mud, which provides comfortable footing and cleaner water than many other lakes. The parking lot can be somewhat limited, particularly when two impromptu Saturday birthday parties are going on. There is one whole bathroom. Unfortunately, this beach has a 'smoking friendly "section"' which is "adjacent to handicapped parking." A few disgusting smokers were taking advantage of lax rules by not disposing of their filters properly, and not adhering to personal space boundaries. There was substantial litter from children's juice boxes, as well. Gross! Fortunately, there is a long enough beach to carve out a small space away from these ash holes. Many people arrived at the beach via boat or jet ski instead of driving. The beach was great fun for families and I would return.
