Our tour guide was a super nice guy who's obviously passionate about his job and NH, but he didn't stop chatting the entire time. He told us about every house on the lake, history of the lake, all the tea about people in the area, etc. While we appreciated his knowledge and passion, we felt that we couldn't get off the boat fast enough, as we would have been more relaxed at the bar or in our room. If the cruise had some nice music on, provided a few blankets (that were clean unlike the one he handed me) and offered the option for snacks/beverages, it would have been much more enjoyable. But the price tag for a 90 minute informational cruise with consistent talking and other passengers' phone loudly playing the ymca... was less than worth it.

I would be very WARY of working with them, especially through Airbnb, they are unprofessional and unorganized and will turn the blame on customers who have been nothing but honest.

I've always had a great experience camping here, and have gone each year for about 5 years. We don't care about the pool or wifi, don't care about what kinds of programming for families they may have, or any of the other things camp grounds are pushing these days. We want a somewhat private site, we want to be able to keep our fire going as late as we want (as long as it is under control), and we want to be able to keep our music playing at a reasonable level. We have never been told to put out our fire during quiet hours, or to turn off our music. We can stay up all night having a great time by the fire and playing cards without being broken up, but everyone plays by the same rules meaning it is not a wild place and we have never encountered other sites being too loud for our enjoyment. If you're looking for some old fashioned camping - even in an RV - where you can enjoy being outside with good company all night, this is a great spot. The staff has always been pleasant as well and the rates are comparable to nearby grounds.

Clearwater has a lake, but the lots are more jammed packed and not as spacious. Clearwater seems to be more family friendly with a playground, lake, etc. Meredith is more laid back and quiet. Meredith also has an indoor pool and hot tub which is nice. The staff at both places were very friendly and both have a nice store. We drove over to Clearwater to spend the day on the beach/lake. We rented kayaks which were very decently priced ($6 single, $12 double for 2 hrs.). The water was very clear and the beach was pretty large. The only downside to our camp site was a fence beside us. It made it feel a bit less woodsy. I also felt they could clean up around the store and grounds a bit. It looks a bit rundown. Same with the docks at Clearwater. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again!

However, it is only open to town residents, taxpayers, and campers at Edward Doggett Campground. There is a parking lot and they have lifeguards on duty from 10am to 4pm. The beach has a roped swimming area as there are power boats on the lake. A water-accessible wheelchair ramp looks useful and there are restrooms available but you'll have to find an employee to get the key. Look for the volleyball court as well. The first bedroom is the master and has a wonderful soft queen sized(I believe) bed with electric fire place. The second room also has a queen(I believe) sized bed with an electric fireplace. The third bedroom had two full(I believe) size beds with an electric fireplace(wasn't working when we arrived). The loft upstairs has a divider the side on the left has a day bed with trundle bed. The other side has two twin beds. Every room has a heater/ac unit. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots/pans and has a fridge, oven and stove. Trust me..Photos from their website does not do justice! We checked in and immediately fell in love with the place. The staff was always very friendly. Every night they came out and helped start the bon fire. The view from the North wing I personally feel is the best! If you are looking to get married if you can cut it the best would be the Main Lodge. Their common room has an amazing view and tons of space if you needed to do an indoor wedding. They have canoes, paddleboats, paddleboards, and I believe sailboats. Next time I'm in Meredith I will be sure to stay here again!
