Vet techs are always super friendly with my pups (even the grouchy dog). The doctors are nice too. Would loooove to see them less often since veterinary care in general is super expensive everywhere, but I do trust that my girls are in good hands here, and at the end of the day that is what matters most. read more

Love the receptionist, but the staff in the back were horrible. Our fur baby passed away at home, We called and let them know we're on our way. Receptionist was wonderful and told me we can bring him in and to the back. We get there, I pay to have him cremated; my husband goes to get him and we take him to the back, our 9 & 11 year old follow. First lady we encounter tells us to put him on the floor, then points at another location on the floor of where we need to put him; my husband asked why the floor, why not a table, she says, "I need to bag him". We had our Corgi for 13 great years; those words killed us. We were upset because she made us feel that our fur baby was trash. He was a member of our family and we loved him very much. They are very unprofessional. They got 1 star because I couldn't do any negative stars. Needless to say we left with our dog. He is resting in peace at Smokey Farm Pet Cemetery. read more

We've been using Lake Worth Animal Clinic since we adopted our first puppy (about 3-4 years ago). They've always been pretty good about getting us in for an appt when needed for minor medical issues, and had great service. Very decently priced for those minor issues, and a quick in an out visit. This most recent array of visits have been troubling. Our GS lost a toenail and had an exposed quick, which got infected badly. We took her to the vet and the visit was fine, no issues. They got us antibiotics and treated her. Within the next month, she lost another toenail on the same foot, and had 2 others that were barely hanging on, which also got infected. We took her back and the vet was not going to remove her barely hanging on toenails, which were causing her great discomfort due to rubbing against the quick. We had to ask the vet to come back to the room and take another look to consider removing them. He finally agreed to remove one of the nails, keeping the other one there. Mind you, by this point, she only had one nail remaining on that foot. The others (including the dewclaw), had all fallen off/were removed. We were concerned that something else was going on, due to multiple nails falling off. And, when we trimmed her nails that week before taking her back, we saw pus coming out from another paw's nail. We brought our concerns to the dr, who stated that "if it happens again, we will consider something else going on". She's already lost 4 nails by this point, what do you mean?? lol. Well, we took her home with the antibiotics, and those nails seemed to be healing fine. Now, fast forward about 2 weeks, a nail on her back foot is infected. So now, instead of having answers last time we took her, we have to pay for ANOTHER visit. We are definitely finding a better place to take her going forward. We need answers to find out what kind of chronic condition she has. Just to be clear, the other staff were exceptional. They are very kind and show compassion, and were on our side when we questioned the vet. read more

Spoke to Kendra, super nice and professional over the phone and referred me to another vet due to lack of availability at this location (granted I was trying to get vaccines at the last minute). I tried to get my elderly dog in for an ear infection. I explained to the receptionist that it was important for her to be seen sooner then later. She was rude and told me to go to an emergency hospital. I explained that it was not an emergency. She then told me to go somewhere else for service. I dog will be seen today but had to wait over two weeks. I guess they make a lot of money so they don't need the business. Will be shopping around for another vet. read more

I called to refill my cats medicine and was just told it's been a year we need to see him. Great notice it's liquid so it's hard to tell how many doses are left, so I called it in thinking it definitely has enough until Monday. No idea it was time for a new appointment. I went ahead & made an appointment but nothing until Friday afternoon. Most vets care about an animal and I asked if I could just get enough until that appointment and was told no. It's pain medicine and they tell you don't just stop this medicine. Nope didn't care. I've been a customer for 4 years and it's gone downhill since the vets and assistants started quitting. I called back & said no to being put on hold and was put on anyone which this girl doesn't listen or care. (won't name names on here). I chose to hang up and she called back & before I could speak she said "you called back & was on hold for a short time so I was calling back to see what you needed". Making sure that was the important part (not the animal) but covering herself by trying to tell me it was a short period on hold). Unprofessional & laughable. I get needing to get a visit but not making sure they are covered during the week gap tells me it's not about the animal. I will be taking my animals to another vet that is in the business for the right reason. read more

I recently transferred to the FT Worth area with the military and needed to find a vet to take my three pug babies. I returned from work travel to find that my oldest had diareah the entire time I was gone. I called and explained the problem and was told he couldn't get in until Monday even after explaining he had been sick for a week. I was told that she (the vet), recommended a special high fiber food available in her office, but unfortunately since my baby didn't have a prescription and no appointment to obtain one, I couldn't get the food. I am thankful this clinic proved it's true colors up front. My babies are my world and I wouldn't trust them with a vet that offered no recourse except an appointment three days later. I called Harris vet hospital and although they were busy, they heard the story were willing to fit my baby in today. read more

I have been a customer for 18 years, and have allowed this group of veterinarians treat 4 dogs. Everyone has bad days, they've made mistakes, and prior to our most recent visit they would acknowledge their mistakes, apologize and make it right, even when their misdiagnosis contributed to the premature death of one of our dogs, we still forgave them. This last visit was a different story. When we arrived to drop off for a scheduled toe amputation, the receptionist was unable to locate us on the schedule. I had spoken to this same receptionist on 11/3 at 11:47AM, to schedule said surgery and she acknowledged it was scheduled. Mind you she didn't even bother to ask what we were scheduling for, and when I asked if she needed to know, she stated "no, it's for a tumor removal". This made me believe that she either could read my mind or saw from our previous visit they had provided us a quote, that being said, she hung up on me without confirming. She stated she would have to see if they could "work us in", I then suggested she should probably let them know that she had failed to complete the scheduling when I called, this is where it went sideways. The receptionist, Tori, make sure you know her name, she'll get upset if you don't, rolled her eyes and threw her hand up at me, as if I had said something inappropriate. When I then asked her if she communicated her error, she stated that she wouldn't make that mistake, I guess she's perfect. At this point she became argumentative and told me "that wouldn't happen". I then gave her a recap of our conversation from 11/3, and needless to say, she had nothing. She then proceed to go lie to the vet and tell her I was hateful, when all I did was recap our previous conversation. Due to her unprofessional, unreliable behavior, I had to bring our dog back home, with the life threatening cancer he has, in which our other dog died from, without treatment. This clinic doesn't care about the pets and families they serve, they only care about their pocket book. I cannot believe I am saying this, but please save yourself the heartache, and go somewhere else that is in business for the right reasons. read more

The most important thing for you to know is the Lake Worth Animal Clinic is staffed by people who TRULY love and care for animals. Dr. Heather Wiese gives the best care to my miniature poodle, Cozmo. She is patient, knowledgeable and very thorough, someone I trust 100%. I recently called the clinic with a couple of questions and Dr. Marlena Smith answered the phone. She was super awesome and spent at least 10 minutes going over things with me. (When do you ever call an animal clinic and find the veterinarian answering the phone!) They also do cool things here like acupuncture and take a more conservative (affordable) approach to pet care overall. I've been bringing my babies here for at least 15 years and feel the practice is better than ever under the more recent guidance of Drs. Wiese and Smith! read more

Dr. Marlena Smith actually sat down on the floor and canoodled with my puppy before giving him his shots. This put him at ease, and gained his trust. I loved how informative she was, and how thorough she and the staff were with regard to immunization schedules. My rescued dog also had to be treated for hookworms, and I'm glad that she was able to figure out why the pup was lethargic. All three people that we interacted with at this clinic were kind and gentle with the dog. I also loved that they voluntarily trimmed his nails for me while they had him in the back to remove his stitches from his neutering. Plus, the suture removal was free because this clinic collaborates with the local humane society. We will definitely be long-term clients. read more

My first experience with the clinic was OUTSTANDING. However, a new puppy caught Parvo and during the crying and confusion, my wife walked out the door without paying the bill. We had our other three dogs treated and shots at this clinic. The point being we were no stranges and certainly paid our bills. Within 2 hours I received a call at my job, threatening to call the police if we didn't pay immediately. WHAT! ..... over a $150 bill. By the way the Vet recommended putting the puppy down. He is going on 3 years old and is very happy and health 80 lb dog, but would not of been if I followed their advice. read more

Dr. Smith and Dr. Weise both took care of our Levi last year. They helped us make informed decisions and did everything they could to help pinpoint his problem without being invasive since he was an older cat. They were compassionate, professional and gave us options within our budget to help him and helped us make informed decisions. When Levi was diagnosed with cancer Dr. Smith made his quality of life a priority and helped us know when it was time to let him go. When that time came she explained the process and stayed with us for some time afterwards, not rushing off to her next appointment. She really cared about our pet and our loss. All the staff there are wonderful and willing to help. Our pets will continue to go to Lake Worth Animal Clinic for their future health care. read more
