I like the old fashion style, where the doctor does it all and the tech basically holds the pet and works the billing. This is a much bigger operation and the tech does most of the physical or hands on procedures. It's more like a human hospital in that regard with the techs being more like registered nurses. I can imagine there is a lot of overhead and that is why the cost is considerably more. Still I had some questions after our visit and the doctor cleared up some misunderstanding I had regarding the diagnosis of my pet, so I'm very appreciative of that. This is a costly place though, and we did have to wait, in spite of all the techs and staff.

I have a cat with a special needs digestion problem that no meds seemed to help. After visiting this store and a little trial and error, I finally found something to help her. Turns out that a wet food with pumpkin was the trick. The people are friendly and all know their products really well. They only carry high quality feeds and know the benefits of different ingredients. There's is also a loyalty card and the punches get your a discount. The employee on duty said they were transitioning to services and away from retail. I haven't signed up for any training there so I cannot rate them for that. Since I went to Pets West to purchase supplies, treats, toys, and chews, I can say it was a huge disappointment. I attended training classes in the past and may again, but I'm skeptical given the recent reviews about boarding and daycare. On the plus side, the two employees were friendly.

Cellie had been hit by a truck and was unable to preform the duties she had been trained for, but she was perfect for what I needed her for. I had seizures and needed a dog that could get close enough to me to alert me to oncoming seizures. Cellie and I lived many happy years together until she developed cancer in her face sadly. She was the smartest, sweetest, most protective dog I have ever had. I had the tumor removed once and at first the vet thought it was not cancerous but after removing it he saw that it was and said that once it came back eventually she would not be able to eat. It has been over 20 years since Cellie passed and I have not had another dog since I still miss her every day.
