Lake forest Siding, Running Springs-- OWNER Michael Kemsky Recently divorced i moved up to my vacation home after 30 years of civil service. Michael responded to my call for an estimate. Michael brought an elderly man to my home who funded the job after the elderly man opened up an escrow account for a recorded loan of $34,000. I signed the Escrow documents in Running Springs. The money was payment for vinyl siding for my Lake Arrowhead cabin however, I was never given the $34,000 oddly. Instead Michael received it in full by the wealthy friend who I was borrowing from. This is how Michael left my home for a period of 4 months before finishing the job In April 2019. I was devastated and distraught as he had been paid in full for the job in November 2018 and just walked off. He did not return my calls. I do not have a male in my home to go after him. Never again! Do not trust him with a ten foot pole. He took advantage of my vulnerability AND my stupidity. The expected completion date was thanksgiving November 22, 2018 But that was never written in the contract and the contract was signed by his employee except that Michael's license says he has no employees... Ignorance on my part. Shame on him for not following more ethical protocols. I finally paid the loan off in a refi. What a complete 6 month nightmare!!! I was never given any documentation other than a contract (printed in 2016) with Four sentences and signed by Charles (Chuck) Bridge who has no authority under Michael's contractor's license with CSLB. Filed a complaint with them after Michael collected an additionally $18,000 from the said elderly man stating that I amended the escrow account for an additionally loan of $18,000 which never occurred. Mike showed up and gave a realistic view of how much it would cost, what products they would be using! I loved the fact that they installed a moisturizer barrier first then insulation and the siding on top of all that! It's like another blanket around my whole house! I couldn't be happier with the end result, I believe the cost was more than fare and I'm not kidding, for the last two weeks, neighbors driving up and down my street have stopped just to tell me how beautiful my home is and they can't believe the improvement! On 3/24/18 Michael came to my home and gave me a proposal for $18,000 to do concrete and other miscellaneous work to include fencing. We agreed, he wrote up a contract, both signed and I gave him a deposit of 20% ($3,600) on aforementioned date. He said he would start the project no later than the following week, Monday 4/2/18. The date came and went without any work started, contact from him to reschedule or communication of any new plan. Since then I've repeatedly tried to contact him via text message over 60 times, via his cell phone, Amy's cell phone and his office phone all combined approximately 30 times over the last 5 months. Most my messages went unanswered and when I was able to get communication I was given excuses, followed by new commitments which he repeatedly failed to meet. On 7/19 after speaking with Amy she was very dismissive and clearly frustrated with my call. I came to the conclusion that he was not going to work with me to resolve our issue. I continued to wait an additional 2 weeks and made efforts to contact him with no success. After the 3rd month of nothing from him or his company I proceeded to purchase material and complete the work on my own. I was very clear with him and Amy through this whole process that I was completing this work and in a hurry to sell my property. Due to the delay of this work it has in return delayed the completion and selling of my home. Because of this delay my home has dropped in value approximately 8%. This has substantially hurt me financially, caused undue stress and extra burden on me. On 8/6 I contacted the Sheriff's Department and filed a police report. On Monday 8/13 Michael contacted me apologizing for not returning my calls or deposit, something we had agreed to two weeks prior when we met at my house. He said he would meet me down the mountain or whatever worked for me because he knew I needed my money back. I responded immediately with my location and thanking him. He then responded about 7 hours later after my phone call to all your numbers that he was "dying with an abscess tooth". Since that date I have not heard from Michael or Amy even though I have repeatedly reached out to all his numbers. This is still open and ongoing issue no for over 5 months. read more

I took over my family's rental property this year in blue jay. My cousin let the place go downhill over the years with no maintenance. I saw that Lakeforest Siding was local and gave them a call. My experience with them has been top notch! They gave me the most reasonable quote out of the 3 companies I contacted to replace our siding. Avoid if you are a vendor doesnt pay his obligations

This company has a 5 star review on HomeAdvisor because they contest all the bad reviews. They promised to complete a job several times and broke their promise. After nearly four months I had to fire them and look for another company. Here is the timeline of events: On June 8, 2016 I spoke to Amy Kemsky about a seemingly easy siding repair for a property I manage in the Fawnskin area. Amy was helpful on the phone and told me they were busy but they would be in touch soon. On June 14, I received an email from Amy saying the material had been ordered and they would complete the job in 3-4 weeks. Great! Amy emailed 5 weeks later on July 21. She said her guys were working in Big Bear and they would be able to my repair soon. I called them on August 4. Amy said the guy that works in Big Bear (Chuck) was gone on vacation, but assured me he would be back soon and that the job would be completed as soon as he got back. No problem for me! I contacted them again the second week of August around the 12-13. Amy said they were very busy but she was sure the job would be completed within 3 weeks. Ok I understood they were busy so I didn'€™t mind waiting a few extra weeks. Fast forward to September 5, 2016. The job had not been completed so I contacted them again. I called for 2 days and did not get a response until the 3rd day from Amy. She said she had good news and that the job would be completed the very next day! I stopped by the home until September 11 to check their work and to my surprise nothing had been done. I called that day and Sep 12 but did not get a response until Sept 13. I spoke to Amy briefly that day but she was dismissive and quickly transferred me to Mike Kemsky. Mike did not offer an apology, but rather told me the story of an old worker of theirs that had originally installed the siding of the home in question. He said the original siding job was done by said person without their knowledge and therefore they were not responsible for it. He said and I quote "If this was a job originally done by us we would have repaired it already. We don't like to repair other people's jobs". He also said the person in charge of the Big Bear jobs was a guy named Chuck and was trying to get him to do the work asap. I was taken back by Mike's comments, but he promised me that the job would be completed by the end of that week. I apologized for being bothersome but explained to Mike I needed to get the repair done as soon as possible, given the fact I had contacted them since back in June. He said not to worry that I was doing the right thing by calling them. Unfortunately, Mike's promise was not fulfilled. On the morning of Sept 16 I received an email from Amy letting me know that Chuck had gotten another job in Sugarloaf and would not be able to complete the job for another 2 days. I was very frustrated when on September 20, the job still had not been done. At that point I decided to look for another contractor. I emailed Amy about it but never even got a response back. As property management company we deal with multiple repairs and vendors in the Big Bear valley. This is why I have such a detailed record of the interaction I had with this company. Based on my experience I do not feel I was treated fairly and professionally and would not dare recommend this company to any one of my homeowners. I understand things can get hectic when it’s busy, but this isn’t an excuse to continue to break deadlines and not call customers back for days on end. By their own account, this repair would have taken them 2-4 hours to complete! Judging by all their reviews from 2014 it would seem like the quality of organization and customer service has gone down considerably. Something is wrong here. I reached out to this company through one of their local flyers. It took some time to arrange for them to come out for a quote. The first time they were to come out, they were a no show. Then the next time they were late. They did give a fair price, although it was only a verbal quote. They said they would complete a write up and email to me, and they never did. With several followup attempts (4 or more by email or phone) I received no response. I might have gone with this company had they actually chosen to formalize their quote, and followup. read more
