He was warm, patient, kind, and made us feel incredibly special. And the wine was unique and tasty. I have had a lot of wine (hello 2020) and this certainly measured up there on my list. So I was a little unsure whether the wine selection at Beliveau Farm Winery would be for me. But I'm happy to say that these guys are making some great wine. Yvan and Joyce, the owners, know what they are doing in terms of grapes and wine, because they have traveled and enjoyed wine from all around the world. They have a good thing going on here. When I visited, I did a wine tasting, which was paired with different flavored potato chips. So I got to taste several different wines. I'm more of a red wine gal, but one of my favorites at Beliveau is the Crazy Professor, which is a white wine blend: Vidal Blanc, Chardonel, Pinot Gris. They also have a tasty Cab Franc (one of my favorites, too), and another Crazy Professor wine, but this one is a red called The Professor's Crazy Estate Blend, which is Cab Franc, Syrah, Merlot and Tempranillo. Almost all of my favorites in one bottle! So, yes, you will find some great Virginia wines here. You can enjoy a glass indoors or outdoors. I hope you sit outdoors, though, because the grounds are beautiful and expansive. This place is kid-friendly and pet-friendly, too. There's lots of open space for kids to run around, and some big rocks for them to climb on.

They have one bathroom available to customers but it was very clean, well-stocked with supplies, and the water was hot with good pressure (which is important for hand cleanliness). This trip was a 5 hour drive from where we live, so if we come back again, it would be for another family reunion. But, if you're local or a short drive away, it's definitely worth checking it out.

Staff was nice enough to let us try the Off Dry Flight in turn. They are dog friendly as long as dog is friendly and leashed.

When we left around 1:15 pm, only five other customers were there. The food was horrible, not one person in our group liked their food! I ordered a salad ($26) and chose to add steak as my protein. When my order came, it was totally wrong! It was a well done steak (ordered medium rare) with side of broccolini and fries. I ate one bite of the tough steak ($40) and decided not to eat anymore. I did eat the sides and found them to be average. When asked if I'd like a box to put my leftovers in, I declined. Others in the group ordered shrimp and grits, salmon, and chicken. The shrimp and grits were very runny, the chicken dish was too spicy and the salmon was undercooked. Needless to say, looking at their most current Health sanitation ratings for 2024 was an 80, and 2025 shows an 85. The buildings and grounds showed signs of neglect as well.

In addition to enjoying the wines we strolled the property with our dogs, sat on a swing overlooking the mountains and had an option to play frisbee golf.
