Lakeland markets itself to two groups of people - cooks and grannies. If you are a cook then this shop will have exactly the implement or item you have been looking for. It may not be quite in the price range that you were hoping for, but you can't have everything. If you are a grannie then this place contains a lot of your grannie needs - i.e. stuff that promises to make your life easier but in reality is just one more thing to try and keep clean and avoid falling over it. Seriously - there is a very fine line between useful item, and something that will end up being classed as junk. For those of you with well heeled friends they also sell a range of unique food items that are ideal for gifts as a) people dont' tend to buy them for themselves b) you couldn't get away with giving someone 1lb of Saxa table salt, but you could get away with giving them 1/2 lb of sea salt in a nice bag. Go, enjoy, and fulfill all your Nigella Lawson fantasies (they even sell the syrup and ice cream maker). read more

I have used this store on a number of occasions as well as the big lakeland store in Windermere. The after sales service at this store is second to none. If there is any problem ever then they will help, replair or refund for you very willingly - it is never an issue or a problem, because they know that they sell quality products that you never knew you needed. The staff are always willing to help and give advice and explain how things are meant to be used etc. They also have magazines to take away that let you know what else you could choose to but in store if that's what you wanted to do.The Christmas sales here are really good - lots of great bargains. read more

Lakeland is a high spec kitchen wears shop, selling all kitchen equipment imaginable. The produce is of a reasonable quality but I think very over rated and not partially value for money. Also even if you are planning on buying £100 worth of stuff from them they will still charge you I think £0.20 a carrier bag This I think is disgusting! I went in to buy my mother some presents that came to a value of nearly £100 when told I would be charge for 5 carriers I left the goods and walked out! Come on people get with it People only have 2 arms and shouldn't be punished for that! read more
