I stopped in here for a single Christmas present from a specific store, lucking out with parking that put me almost directly in front of the entrance I needed. It was one of those rare mall visits where the errand is quick and the walking is minimal, and I appreciated being able to slip in and out without a long hike. The energy was hard to miss. The parking lot was surprisingly full for a weekday afternoon, the kind of full that tells you people still treat this mall as a destination rather than an afterthought. Inside, the stores I passed were open, lit, and active, which is not something you can say about every regional mall these days. Nothing was boarded up or dark, and that alone gave the place a sense of stability. Lakeland Square Mall feels like it has managed to hold on to a steady rhythm of shoppers and tenants, enough to keep the atmosphere lively without feeling chaotic. It was like a GHOST town! Literally it was creepy! I asked a JCPenney associate what happened? She said covid hit a lot of stores hard! But they were still doing good. I'm talking there's maybe... if 4 stores left. It was creepy! Plus u have cops and security riding around the whole "mall". #redflag It looked really run down literally. It even had this just Erie vibe. I know this place was thriving I've been here (years ago) seeing it the other day. Whoaaa!!!! I hope they can bring it back to life, oh and maybe Sage the WHOLE mall! Sadly this mall is in the same state as many a mall in the outer Orlando / Central Florida area...dying. There are few stores remaining and the mall itself has seen better days structurally. There are many a new strip mall options in the area that offer a ton of options and it's showing it's impact on this once thriving mall. It is a good option still for getting in some steps if you've had a long ride or been sitting around for the day. It's indoors, air conditioned and relatively clean despite its age. So far I like the Lakeland Mall, but not Tammi's (the nail salon near Burlington). I haven't went to many places outside of getting my eyebrows down, shopping at Burlington, the restroom and eating at a couple places in the mall. The next time I go I'll make sure I get pictures and stop rushing so much. Customer service is good so far and the mall/restroom were clean. read more

i love it as a homeschooled teenager i go here some days sit around do school, wait for my friends to come, best food place... perries BBQ, or perries Chinese, not sure of the name honestly but perries you will find it. Yes its a ghost time and some parts of the week some of the sotres are closed now but aren't some stores at like every mall, but not run down, not dirty always see people cleaning mopping sweeping, love how its set up. read more

I stopped here for the first time today and other than Burlington, it was a waste of time. Super outdated and poor selection of stores. Don't bother stopping here and just go to the Florida Mall or the Outlets in Orlando. read more

I had previously read reviews for this mall prior to coming and wanted to make my own judgement. Boy, were they right. 1) Don't trust the list of stores on the online directory; most aren't there and the ones that are were either closed or closing. 2) There were a lot of "off" brands of stores. I can best compare it to stores you would see at a big flea market. 3) it seemed like a very outdated mall. It was run down and dirty. I know I wouldn't want to be caught there at night or past a certain hour. Don't waste your time. Go elsewhere. read more

My wife and I used to come to this mall 30 years ago. It looks larger now than we remember with the same look as well. The bidets problem is how much it has gone down hill. With multiple closed stores it seams like it is dying. Around the food court is ok but the further out the older and warn it looks. read more

There's a thrift store that was added recently in place of sears or jc penny or whatever garbo business that preceeded it. Whatever that place is called it's worth going to and as far as thrift stores go it's 5 stars. Don't waste your time with Game Attic, use eBay, Amazon, or just emulate older games and don't pay 50 bucks for goldeneye or 20 bucks for gta 3. The massage place, I think it's next to Burlington coat factory, is pretty great. I don't get massages often but the value is good. The pizza in the food court is the greasiest I've ever had because they keep spraying olive oil on their "case pizza" to keep it from drying out. I'd rather have the Tostitos party pizza for $1.80 at Walmart. Zumiez and tillies both have surprisingly good service for being run by a bunch of kids, but you'll have much better prices at the target down the road. read more

Dirty. Just plain dirty. However, it does have a very nice sports memorabilia section. There they have quality jerseys and other cool stuff. They also have a Bungie jump occasionally, sometimes some little kids stuff, other than that, pulling up is a horrible sight. The Dillard's roof looks like a bird dropped 1500 of its bombs on it. The food court is probably cleaned once a week, ( I hope the food is clean too. ) Once I waited almost 10 min while we were scanning about 5 things. All shirts. My first time actually walking through this mall. I've been in the Burlington a few times and that's about it. I really didn't have to many expectations for this mall and I was right by not having any. While walking through the mall I noticed that there were vacant shops and it didn't seem like a mall thats doing well. Malls are soo different now and as crazy as it may seem they lack a true variety of options. This mall is perfect for a younger crowd. After walking through the mall and visiting a few stores we decided to leave. The restrooms weren't bad but could use a little extra cleaning. Most of the stores were clean and very inviting. Customer service was average typical for the mall. I did notice a few stores that were unfamiliar to me and seem to be really nice. read more

I was at the mall recently after seeing a movie. The theatre is awesome. But the mall really needs a face lift and life breathed back into it. Great place for mall walking not so great shopping experience. Taking the lockers out by the restrooms would probably cut down the drug transactions. Not many people. Would be a great place to bring a flash mob together. Plenty of space. Thank goodness for the skylights or you'd be walking around in the dark. Food court is kind of sad. Perry's BBQ is the bomb. They should bring back the Ruby Tuesday's. Might be half empty but business is still booming at Spencer's and Hot Topic. I'm proud to be from a town where the Mountain Dew is plentiful as well as the spiked adornments. 1 star for how depressed it makes me. 5 stars for the nostalgia factor. read more

I'll keep this summary short and sweet. The place is on life-support. It is not safe to go to at night for obvious reasons. Just drive to the parking lot and you'll figure out on your own. You're better off going to Lakeside Village or hit one of the malls in Orlando or Tampa. If you need something quick, just order it on Amazon prime and have it shipped overnight. Not only will you spend a whole lot less money, you don't have to worry about getting mugged It's a shame because I remember growing up in this was the place to be. Not anymore. It is evident that the people with the money do not go there anymore. Many vacant stores, and lots of anchor stores again, are on life-support I am absolutely surprised that Sears is even in business. Sadly, that place is a ghost town. A shame as it was once such a beautiful mall. I thought I would give this a 2018 update: The place is still rat hole, you better bring your Glock if you're going after dark. No joke. Sears remains on life-support and is surprisingly still in business. It's a ghost town with bare shelves. The other stores are typical of what you would find in a mall. Mall itself is clean, the bathrooms are well-kept it's just the clientele that a rather shady at times. It's almost as if some "parents "utilize the mall space as a free babysitter. Had a couple nice lil' shopping sprees here. They have a nice variety of stores. There's a Native American dude who sells all kinds of interesting tribal things near the food court. The pizza place got this banging Spinach & Cheese Calzoney thingy lol. The stores seem to have quite a few exclusive clothes that I haven't seen anywhere else. As always, this is a review from the perspective of a service dog handler. I'm a fan of the FYE store and have been straight to FYE and back to the car but I finally went around the entire mall recently with my service dog and my mum. The Dillard's is like something out of an early CSI (original) episode, kinda creepy, mysterious stains, and smells like dead something. The staff I encountered throughout the mall were really friendly and had great service dog etiquette. I was shocked to learn that they pretty much just let any dog inside because the owners didn't educate them about service dog laws (did a quick run down with a security guard and Claire's employee, misbehaving dogs, SD or not, can be asked to leave). After we grabbed a quick lunch at the food court (we chose different restaurants and came to the conclusion afterwards that it was truly overpriced for the quantity and quality of food we got), I was disgusted to spot my service dog investigating a bunch of bugs crawling across the floor. After that, we promptly left. I doubt we'll return. The staff we met were nice, polite, and helpful, but bugs around food is not okay. read more

I have been to this mall many times since middle school and I will be 21 soon. I bought so many "cool" clothes for school and even my prom and calendar girl dresses from here. It has always had different little stores opening and closing and some have always been there. I hope they can have a more solid floor plan for permanent stores soon. It seems they are struggling a little with that. Although, I am a foodie so the food court is pretty awesome I'd say. Different selection for everyone. read more

This is an "OK" Mall I wish it had more known stores like forever 21, and Loft but I guess because it's North Lakeland they decided not to have those stores there. I think if it had more known stores it would be a better mall and more people would visit the mall. read more

Lakeland had upgraded with its. Sports Authority in new movie theater but from somebody who has been to malls all over the country this ranks pretty low... and I've never once been inside when there is more then 50 other people! so the upside is no lines! read more

This is my experience after trying to get in contact with the mall manager over several phone calls, none of which were answered or returned. I have sat in the mall management office for 10 minutes now with no offers for assistance. One of the employees looked at me through his door, then looked down and dramatically exhaled, clearly showing contempt for their customers. He closed the door, and I could hear what sounded like it couldn't be anything but a belt being fumbled with, and then a zipper. Some unnamed representative finally came up to speak with me, and she told me that performing permits aren't distributed, despite a security officer having told me they can be. I am not just fighting for myself, I want to get a shade put up over the bus benches so other people and I won't have to suffer, baking in the insane heat that Florida is famous for. read more

By far a better mall than where I'm from however, it seems as though every time I go there's tons of people smoking and vaping inside the mall. I know regular cigs are illegal to smoke inside in Florida but I also think e-cigs should be to. I'm 9 months pregnant ant take my 3 year old all the time. She's not exposed to anything like that and it upsets me that going to a family mall is where she enhales such crud. As for the stores, nice variety and staff seems nice too. I don't understand why all the reviews on this mall are so bad?!? This is the best mall! I love it so much. All the workers in the stores are awesome and friendly. It's always busy. Lakeland Square Mall is conveniently located right off I4 and HW98 in North Lakeland. This mall needs (MUST) be updated. It is in desperate need of TLC. This area in North Lakeland, has seen a tremendous growth spurt. It is beautifully developed with new homes, new shops, and restaurants. It is a great location and a great a place to live. They updated the cinemark movie theatre , it's amazing! and now they need to bring Lakeland Square Mall up to speed with all the other beautiful malls in central Florida. They brought in H& M, Which is great, however there are still vacant stores in the mall, (unfortunately, macys closed down) so they need to concentrate on bringing in more modern stores). The mall needs a paint job inside and out it could also use power washing in all the exterior areas. It would be ashame to let this mall fall apart! If they take the time to update it and bring it to the 21st century, North Lakeland will be an amazing place to contend with. read more
