So I did a thing... I had License technicians come in and they found something I didn't see. As I explained previously reviews about the side effects that I was filling through the mold... The head, the breathing, the wheezing, the eye burning, etc. they found black mold. The rental property has ignored all messages and not taken accountability for this. I first want to say that I had my tour done by Kim, who is a manager of the property. She was extremely nice and the unit that I was shown was the Edgewater #8032. It has a very unpleasant smoker's smell but I was told it is not usually that way and could have been someone who was recently smoking and it getting through the vents. Cool. I liked that it was renovated and decided to apply. I was approved with a $3000 deposit which was obviously ridiculous and I decided to decline. AND IM HAPPY THINGS HAPPENED THAT WAY. Seems like I dodged a complete bullet. I didn't see so many negative reviews until I did some further research online. (See picture). I would definitely say be mindful before wasting time or money applying to this location. Unfortunately, they don't disclose the downside to the property. But again, Kim, the manager, did seem very pleasant. read more

Horrible place to leave live ! The lady Kim charges rediculous security deposits depending on race . My girlfriend is black . My friend lives there with a low score (580) no background and he moved in with very low security. Kim the property manager charged her $3000 and she also has a better background than him . Same style apartment by the way . I thought it was just her, but we start talking to other people of color... And we found that this is a consensus. Also these places have very bad mold and they try to hide and lie about this . This place has had an armed home invasion. That is when someone breaks in your house with a gun and robs you. they still don't have a security guard. They should have a armed security guard, but because they are very cheap they have a resource officer that lives on site. But does nothing.. The resource officer was here when that happened. They need security. The reasons I would not move here is because the rental manager Kim or Valentina. I'm not sure which one it is. They are very shady. They go into your property without permission. The valet trash you pay for never comes... The crime here is rampant.( very dangerous) The places are dilapidated and remodel very cheap so things break easy. Ants and insects are throughout this place. And in my opinion, they're extremely racially influenced. They would need to get all of the mold and mildew out of these units, replace management, and rebrand this but for now stay away stay away stay away! read more

I have lived at this property for 3 years and the office staff is incredible especially Kim she is amazing and over the years has helped me in so many ways she always makes herself available and it is so comforting to speak with her. The maintenance personnel are extremely fast in coming to the rescue if I have any maintenance problems I've never had to wait long. The property is well maintained and very friendly neighbors. I used to like living here at Lakepointe at Jacaranda...Sad to say, this place now requires you to pay for parking through a third party company and if you don't register your vehicle with them, providing your personal information, they threaten to either immobilize or tow your vehicle, with no designated parking spots, no guaranteed parking spots and no guest spots. The fee for parking, where you already pay astronomical rent, is $70 per vehicle per year, with no added safety or security. This was all done very sneaky and mid-lease. With rents continually rising, not the best option to regulate any parking issues. I will not be renewing my lease and would not recommend living here when other communities offer a better option for parking, as well as, safe and secure living. read more

Garbage/trash, empty liquor bottles are all over the grounds. No one picks up their doggie do-do...They show you the models that have the mulch around the plants and the bushes nicely trimmed with flowers planted...but the actual residents have NO mulch or flowers and the plants are scraggly dirt blows into windows if you open them. People are constantly parking in the fire lanes. Worst place I have ever lived. Oh and don't forget the noise at night of the humongus trash compactor going off at all hours as you are trying to sleep. read more

I absolutely love it here. We didn't lose electricity during the hurricane and management was very quick to clear all the trees. The pool is always clean, the BBQ is always filled with propane and the leasing office always has coffee. All my emails and inquiries are addressed within 24 - 48 hours and resolved as expected. Any request I make for maintenance (broken lightbulb, clogged drain, broken carpet, etc...) is followed up on the next day. The management team even agreed to have my carpets cleaned when I agreed to renew my lease. A+ at a fair very price read more

Lived here for 2 years now with my wife and we have no complaints. The office personnel and maintenance have been great from the start and are very helpful, professional, and quick to respond. The neighborhood is mostly young families with a mixed demographic, so if you are a 20-something and looking for a place to rage, this isn't it. The pool/bbq area is always clean and usually quiet and empty (which is a good thing.) Keep in mind this IS Florida, so there are plenty of squirrels, lizards, ducks, spiders, bugs, etc all over the place...sometimes feels like we're in a jungle. We've had some issues with termites, but pest control was quick to come and take care of it. If you're looking to live in the Plantation area, I would definitely recommend this neighborhood, 5 stars! read more

Community looks nice. Management company is hellbent on squeezing every penny out of you though, with ridiculous rent increases upon lease renewal and adding things without taking a community vote (like $25 for waste pick up even if you live literally next door to the garbage). Also bear in mind that your water bill comes from a predetermined % based on your square footage, which has the potential to become unfair if you are a single person living in a larger apartment then a family of 6+ that are squeezing into a small apartment and using a lot of water. I would be more apt to give this a 3 or even 4 star if the management company cared even the slightest bit about retaining tenants that pay on time and are a positive addition to the community instead of playing the "if we raise the rent ridiculously and they go for it, we win, but if they leave we can just have someone else move in" game. read more

I lived there for 7 years 8130 Lakepointe Drive to be exact, and had to deal with MOLD yeah MOLD.... migraines left and right, supposedly it was fixed...yeah right, not even remotely close. Upon move out BLACK MOLD was all over the downstairs closet, who knows what was in the walls! I'm guessing it was never taken out the first time and having a busted water heater that never got fixed was part of it, why because they supposedly always fixed it. In a span of 2 years 5 cars got broken into and one of them was mine, another was stolen after being broken into 3x and another was found on bricks after a night and both wheels and rims were gone. Also, if you have dogs watch out about walking them by the lake, there are alligators, be careful! This place is horrible! 0 stars is what is should really get! read more

Good community. We mostly love the location of our apartment on property and the floor plan. Office staff service has improved from when we fist moved and parking situation as well. I moved into Lakepointe at Jacaranda a week ago. The apartment is a one bedroom and very spacious. The impressive points of this community would have to be the people who work in the office. I worked with Kelly, Devan and Alejandro. All three helped me as much as they could and pointed me in the right direction any time i needed it. Also the maintenance people in this community do a great job and you always see them working around the complex. The neighbors are friendly and quiet. You do see a good amount of families in the community but still stays pretty quiet. The convenience of being within a couple miles of pretty much everything is great as well. read more

I have lived here for almost a year. I will be renewing my lease. It is a great place to live. The staff and maintenance guys are so professional and helpful. Paul helped me out the other day when I thought I left my flatiron on. I asked for someone to go and in check and he called me saying everything was fine.That is great customer service. I've lived in Lakepointe for nearly 4 years. The grounds are reasonably ok but the parking is an absolute travesty. Pay $30+ a month for covered parking or park some arbitrary place in the complex (you'll never remember) and walk The staff is generally good, but recently, newer leasing office management is not empathetic and even rude. I had to move across the country, requiring a shipping container that only takes up a single parking space. In order to park it, it requires a few open spaces to maneuver the container in. I asked politely if I could reserve 3 spaces in front of my apartment for a few hours on the morning of the delivery (literally a few hour window) so that the container could be positioned in front of my home so that myself and maybe one other person could be able to put my things into the container (bed, table, large tv, etc) without having to walk them across the parking lot since I had no additional man power and literally no other choice. You can't (feasibly) just rent a truck and drive it to Washington from Fort Lauderdale, so this shipping container was necessary and what I could afford. I was simply told no with not understanding and no empathy whatsoever. After 3.5 years of on time rent (hiked up each year), all my appliances breaking, plumbing sucking, and weekly power surges, this place can't have a little empathy for its residents when they have a stressful move to handle in their own home. Enjoy this dump. It doesn't look any nicer with all that ugly furniture you put in your leasing office, the grills that never work at the pool, and the hip young idiots running it. I at least know how to maintain a good working relationship with a customer. You clearly do not. The place I'm moving to in WA has been nothing but helpful in every stretch goal I've asked, making my relocation there a piece of cake. Update: The staff at my new community are even less helpful, but at least not rude. Understand that how you treat your residents is what keeps them. Not your ugly ass furniture in the leasing office. read more

Beautiful property. No jacuzzi but the BBQ area is really nice. I have 24 hour access to the gym which I love Alot. It's always clean in there. The staff is very friendly & prompt if I ever have to make a call for anything. The townhouses you can't hear a peep from any of the neighbors. Totally recommend. read more

Living here for 4 months was the worst experience of my life. I was pregnant and my boyfriend and I got into one small argument and after that we were continuously harassed siting noise complaints even to the point where the police were unnecessarily called. This led to me being forced to move out a month after my daughter was born. Whether it was the neighbors or the management I feel as if we were being targeted and didn't feel comfortable going home. In addition to this harassment I had to pay nearly $1200 for them to "replace a carpet" when I was only there for 4 months and the carpet was not damaged at all. If you make more money and have a higher education than half the people in there but don't "look the part" I highly recommend you steer clear! read more

Lived here for a year and loved it. They have an exterminator come every week. The bug situation isn't bad at all, but it's florida so when it rains it's always good to have them come out and keep things clean. The parking is no problem and neighbors are kind but keep to themselves. The walls are thick! We have a barking dog as a side neighbor and a newborn downstairs. And you BARELY ever hear anything. Only downside is they have no dog park but that's more of a luxury than a necessity. It's clean, management is on point, and it's just a good place over all. Only reason we are moving is because I'm company moves further south and the commute is tough. read more

I have lived there for almost 5 years. Yes, the property is kept comparing to some nearby but the staff is HORRIBLE. I had someone creeping through my window late one evening and was told by the staff that it was my imagination then it was probably someone playing tennis. (There was no one outside.) My AC stopped working in the middle of the night, my nose bleeds whenever it is too hot, my bedroom was not getting any fresh air; the maintenance guy who came was not happy that I had him come after 11 pm to fix my AC, he came in grumpy, couldn't fix the AC and told me that if I needed fresh air all I had to do was open the window. It is not all, they misplaced my insurance paper, called me and accused me of never providing it; come to find out I did as my email clearly showed. When I attempted to add my brother to my lease although I pay all the bills, his application was declined and I was told he needed to live then told he could not be on the property. I broke out of my lease; paid my 2 months worth of rent and asked if I had any pending balance, they said no. 3 months after moving, I get this nasty call from a debt collector saying that I owe Lakepointe at Jacaranda. Needless to say I was shocked. I contacted the property and they called me back 5 days later, letting me know that I provided them with the wrong address, which is quite hilarious when they needed to provide my address to the debt collector they knew to give the right one. STAY AWAY!! These people are incompetent. read more

The apartment has its pros and cons. They have renovated some rooms with new appliances, carpet, and carpentry but it's not expensive stuff - just generic stuff from home depot. The apt. looks nice the first couple months and then the knobs start coming loose and the hinges start falling off the cheaper wood. If you do decide to live there, please make sure you pick an apartment away from the dumpster and closer to the pool or the front of the complex. If you go near the back of the complex, especially near the dumpster, you will find a world of spiders, ants, ducks, and bugs. They really should eliminate the dumpster altogether and turn it into a little grass area for dogs. The valet trash isn't worth the $25 because sometimes the compacter breaks down and you're stuck with trash piling up outside the dumpster. You get what you pay for.... it's not super expensive so don't expect the perks from living in the newer apartment rentals of Plantation. Pros: Very quiet, lots of young people, the maintenance is always willing to come at whatever time of the day to fix things for you - 24 hrs. Landscaping is nice and kept up. Pest control is available but make sure to tell them to spray the outside windows and doors or they will only do the inside rooms. The walls are not thin, so you can blare your music. Cons: Management experience depends on who you get in the office (sometimes great, sometimes fake). Plumbing, water heater and air conditioning units were not updated along with the apartment. The pipes have a big problem with draining, and the air conditioner will leak every couple months soaking the carpet. Big spiders are near the dumpster and in trees. DO NOT PARK UNDER THE TREES. The spiders will make little homes in your car :( If this apartment falls in your price range and you like it, please make sure you choose an unit with a front door entrance separate from the patio, (the spiders will live in your patio) and away from the dumpster. The best choices will be near the entrance of the complex. The parking is sparse at night, but that happens with apartments a lot. You might want to spend the extra dollars and get a covered parking spot. They also have some police residents which probably deters any break-ins. Good luck! read more

Great place, been here for awhile. I'd say it's pretty quiet and well kept. I shopped around before choosing this place. Everyone was about the same with the fees. Unlike the other reviews I've read here. I paid for water and trash at my last place. I pay for water and trash here. The gym is nice and I can use it 24/7. I like to workout late so this works for me. My apartment has some nice renovation to it, I like the flat top stove. I've never had a problem with maintenance, they take care of stuff when I call it in. Overall I'm happy and plan on staying for a while. read more
