I always have the most pleasant and professional experience at the store both with Elena and Ian. Elena is ready to answer any complicated question you might have. And Ian was amazingly helpful last time I visited the store. I thought I would have to go all the way to Manchester to fix my old iPad that all of a sudden stopped working. That would have been a long ride to fix one issue. On my way there I decided to try my luck at Lakes Region Computer store first. Ian was super helpful and after 30-40 minutes to my great surprise he fixed all the issues I had. He invested his time even after working hours to get my problem resolved. In our time when we are so dependent on tech devices it's a real blessing to have knowledge help right at your community. I brought my computer in for repair in November and was told the repair could be done once a part was ordered. After waiting, we contacted the business and were told the part order had been canceled and needed to be reordered. This same issue happened two more times, with zero communication to us each time -- we only found out because we called. We contacted the business multiple times and were often told the repair technician was not available. After more than 60 days, we finally received a call claiming they had never received any messages from us -- despite the fact that they still had our computer. Reluctantly, we agreed a fourth time to proceed with the repair, only to be told that the original part would not work and that a more expensive part was now required. After that, several more weeks passed, and 3-4 messages were left with no response. When we finally spoke with Dylan in Tech, he placed the blame on us and denied that we had made multiple attempts to contact them. This lack of accountability and communication was unacceptable. I would not recommend this business and will not use them again. We have since contacted another computer repair business in Laconia, and the difference in professionalism and respect has been night and day. read more

I got a call from Jake and he was apologetic about my negative experience. He remembers me coming-in that day, and he never knew that the job was half-done. He also talked to the person who worked on my phone and made sure that he knew how easy a customer activation was, that he should never charge a customer for a job half-done, and when there's a question, don't assume and bring it to him. I have to say that he wanted to make everything right with me on that negative experience and I told him that he already had. With success comes growth and with growth comes issues. I know that most issues are people issues. In the end, I am fully accepting his apology and explanation. I brought my hp laptop to these guys for a trackpad problem, paid $100 dollars, worked for about 3 weeks. had same problem again after 3 weeks brought it to them , had to replace trackpad and battery, $300 dollars. got laptop home , opened lid hinge was broke. never had problem before, called them up ,45 min drive to have them look at it and they will fix it. 3 days later, they said not worth fixing. tried to sell me new laptop. I paid 4 hundred dollars for a laptop they broke and won't come good for it. I bought a new Mac elsewhere and will never return to this store. not a good way to do business. save your money for a reliable store. read more

If it were possible to give 10 stars, then Jake and the whole business would get 10 stars from me. We upgraded our Iphones and Jake walked us through the discount, the equipment to purchase, etc. He ordered the phones, and today we went in to get everything transferred from our old phones to the new phones. Jake very patiently explained necessary steps (like setting up facial recognition, signing into accounts, etc.), got everything transferred, wiped our phones clean, paired my husband's hearing aids to the phone, and checked that everything transferred correctly. During the process he had to take phone calls and pause to answer other people's questions but that didn't slow down or delay things. Jake kept his pleasant demeanor in the face of an onslaught of rather dumb questions from my husband and I, and assured us we could come in any time if something isn't working correctly. There was no charge at all for this service! I've also used Lakes Region Computer to buy a new laptop and have everything moved from my old (drowned) laptop, losing nothing in the process. My husband also bought a laptop there. Go to this store! You may have a bit of a wait (they can't do appointments) but it's not long and it's well worth your time. read more

In an age when so many things are done online, this is a place to go to get great customer service. This business has had some of the same staff for several years and they are excellent. They are patient with those of us who are not savvy with the latest technology. I was referred to Lakes Region Computer by Apple Computer for a iPhone battery replacement. They were fast, friendly and local!

This place is awesome! A couple of years ago, they had repaired my iPhone in record time, replacing a screen that was no longer responsive to touch. This time, they replaced the keyboard in my MacBook Air laptop; these particular keyboards are known to be faulty and I had already had to have it replaced once before, at the Apple Store. Last time, the Apple Store had my computer for almost a week which is a real problem if you rely so heavily on your computer as I do. Lakes Region Computer in contrast replaced the keyboard in.....two hours!!!! Amazing! They managed to get the necessary parts within two days after I first contacted them. They provide great service, seem extremely well organized, and have really nice and knowledgeable employees. I'll bypass the Apple Store and come here from now on. read more

I went here because of the good reviews. After taking my MacBook Pro in to them and waiting several days and being charged to diagnose, they came back with a diagnosis of no power to the unit and said it was not worth fixing. For less than what I paid them, I could have purchased my new Apple charger. I did purchase a new Apple charger/adapter and voila! My machine works!!! I received a lot of double talk from the tech and was not pleased they had some young kid trying to sell me iPhones as I waited to meet with them. Smug and elitism was the attitude in the store. Unfortunately they come far from delivering. I am writing this now months after dealing with them because I have damage to a laptop and iPad. I went to yelp for reviews of lakes region repair shops and these guys have 5 star. I almost went back to them until I saw the picture of the store. This jarred my memory so I checked my records. This was the store I wanted to avoid. I do not want anyone else to be fooled by the 5 star reviews and get duped by this amateur operation trying to hide behind a shady sales team on the first floor, while waiting for incompetent techs on the second floor. I can't speak to products outside of Mac or Apple. I would never refer anyone to this store and warn against incompetency. Subsequent to having them look at my MacBook I went to the Apple Store and confirmed that they had incorrectly diagnosed my machine and bought the new adaptor/charger. The tech at Lakes Region Computer wanted to sell me a new MacBook Pro and I believe gave me an intentional false report in an attempt to sell me a new laptop. Shady and dishonest! read more

Eleana and Ian have given me fantastic service at the Center Harbor location. I bought my iPad there about 5 years ago and twice now they have helped me increase the storage capability of the iPad without charging me. (Backing photos to iCloud and other things I have no idea how to do myself.) They have been totally pleasant and my husband and I have stayed with Verizon as our phone provider because of their help and availability. I was very disappointed with the service. This computer store is primarily a Verizon cellphone franchise. When I walked in to buy a small accessory for my ipad there were already a few customers spending a lot of time with the clerks as they purchased cellphone contracts. Nobody greeted me, explained that it might be a long wait, etc. I only needed to make a minor purchase. I eventually had to be pushy and interrupt one of the clerks. He was not friendly and acted annoyed with me. I will not go back even though it is located close to me. I will drive a longer distance or order what I need through the Internet. read more
