They would not refund it when we ultimately chose Longview because my brother lives there. They keep saying we are going to get it for you. It has been a year and no refund! read more

In my opinion; Lakeshore should be avoided at all cost. The "leadership" is epically poor. Don't believe the sales person. They were unable (or unwilling) to do the work for difficult cases they knew were difficult before check-in. If you want to check into them that's your call as for me and my family lakeshore is useless and to be avoided. read more

I have had my Aunt in this facility since Dec 31. 2021. It's been pretty crazy. There seems to be no accountability there. You have to stay on top of them where the medicine distribution is a major concern. They say they have checks and balances, but several times I have caught them NOT giving all the meds or giving med that has been discontinued by my Aunt's primary. I am trying to trust their system but I find myself having to help them do their job!!! read more

Beautiful facility but that's all I can say nice about this place. From the day my father went in to the day he left there were multiple problems and screwups. He is diabetic and HAS to wear support socks pulled up to his knees. The Nursing staff was made aware of that on day ONE. He was there 5 days when I picked him up for a foot Dr. appt. His socks were down around his ankles and he had 2" diameter OPEN ulcer blisters on his legs! Their excuse was that the socks "were hard to pull up". REALLY? I was furious and so was the foot dr. I demanded and received a meeting with the regional manager, the facility manager and Jim, the Nursing Manager, who apologized. They misplaced important forms that I dropped off, and they lost medicines he was supposed to be taking-2 TIMES in the 3 months he was there. My mom passed away while he was in there and he could not go to her funeral. They allowed me to bring a computer in and sit with my dad while our family broadcast the funeral. They didn't even give us a private room. They set us up in the big common, NOISY dining room with people coming and going! At one point 2 workers were laughing and talking so loudly we couldn't hear. I POLITELY asked them if they could talk more quietly and told them why. The girl responded that they were working, and discussing work and I had no right to tell them to talk quieter. Because of COVID restrictions, all visitors communicate through a screen window, or after restrictions were eased, in an outside area under their breezeway. They tried to make it nice with plants and rugs, but even with that, it was extremely unpleasant, as the the facility is RIGHT NEXT to the sewer treatment plant. The smell was so bad some days we couldn't stand to sit there, even with masks on. To give credit some of the staff were very nice and cared for my dad well. They even replaced some minor items my dad claimed had been taken. But Ginny up front is rude, and the head nurse and facility management are poor at best. I realize that with COVID they were trying to cover duties that families might normally be able to help with, but poor information and care comes from the TOP down! We moved him to another facility, but 3 months was too long there. I would NEVER recommend this place. read more

I just love the warm feel of this very home like community here at Arbor House Rockwall. The families are so friendly and it really just feels like visiting my mom and dads home but with lots more to do each day. Until November 2015, my mother lived in this Arbor House for approximately five years. It seemed like an okay place but has some issues that I think need serious consideration before you decide to move here. First, the location. Although convenient to nearly everything in Rockwall (until the road construction began), it is also right next to a sewage treatment facility which can be quite smelly. My mother always complained about the quality of the meals. I personally only ate there a couple times and I would tend to agree that the food was mediocre. The staff was friendly enough and seemed to be caring, but there were new people all the time. Management changed three times while she was there. And I'm not sure how attentive they are to their residents. When my mother died, she laid on the floor in her apartment for at least ten hours before someone checked on her after breakfast. Finally, for this review anyway, when my mother died, we were unable to have her mail forwarded by the post office. The post office says this address is a business address, and as such, does not forward to residential addresses. Since the post office wouldn't forward the mail, we had to count on Arbor House to forward her mail, which was sporadic at best. And when I mentioned it, I started receiving junk mail which they said they wouldn't forward. My mother stayed here simply because she had reasonable rent (because she was one of the earliest residents and her rent didn't increase) and it was too inconvenient for her to move again at her age. My father in law stayed here recently and we were so appreciative of them. Great place! Very sweet caring staff and wonderful tenants and beautiful facility. Highly recommend! read more
