We visited in March and the beach was clean and not overcrowded. As expected, it was too cold to go for a swim so we stayed along the shore. We took some great pictures for my sister's bachelorette weekend with Lake Tahoe as the beautiful backdrop and headed home. During my visit to Tahoe, I stayed at the coachman hotel where they provided passes to lakeside beach. Upon initial entry you get wrist bands, if you don't have the pass from the hotel then you have to pay up front. The beach is so beautiful and clean. On the left hand side there's a place to eat. I got a strawberry mojito from the stand and it was fruity and perfect for the beach. The sunset was so beautiful to see from this place. My next visit to Tahoe i'd visit again. read more

I am not impressed with this beach/lake. There is a $25 entry fee. Children under 5 are free. After 5 PM, the entry fee is $10. The entry fee is supposedly to cover the cost of keeping the lake clean. However, the beach was not as clean as I expected. There were numerous amount of bird feces. The sand had numerous rocks that every step was painful. Plus, the consistency of the sand combined with rocks perverted my kids from making sand castles. This review is for the umbrella stand. Family and I arrived at 330p and were told that their point of sale machine was down so they could not rent any umbrellas out. I offered to pay cash but they refused. Some prior customers had already left and I asked if we could use their existing umbrellas that were still up. They said no because they'd have to charge us if we did that. The people were very rude and went out of their way to make our stay unpleasant. After 15 minutes of playing with my daughter in the sand, I lay near one of the unused umbrellas and they promptly came and picked it up. read more

I found this beach because of a stay in a nearby pet friendly hotel. It's a public beach with plenty of parking available. It's pretty hidden so not much of a crowd. I'm pretty surprise on the yelp reviews that some people had to pay an entrance fee. I'v been here a few times and never had to pay. The entrance gate is unlocked which you can always open. I guess it depends on the day or time you go. They have picnic tables and benches so you can have a bite to eat or rest. A spacious beach with a nice view of the lake and a great place for your pups to play. read more

I'm really surprised to see that some people rated this beach so harshly as we really enjoyed the beach. I must admit I didn't know there was a fee to access this beach- our motel was about an 8 minute walk from it and our room came with a handful of vouchers, so it only cost $5 for each of us to get it. It's $30 otherwise ($10 after 5 pm) which I know sounds like a lot, but after thinking about it I really wouldn't have minded paying that. As a visitor of Tahoe, I feel that paying a fee to upkeep a beach in such a heavily tourist area should be expected, especially since tourism can take such a toll on a place. The lake is a limited resource and thinking about how many people come, and how some of them don't help in keeping areas clean and such, I really don't mind the fee. Maybe if I wanted to go to the beach every day and only had enough vouchers for one day, but we only planned one beach day anyways. The beach itself was really nice- not a lot of rocks or twigs and the sand was pretty soft. There is no reef of harsh rocks you have to walk over to get into the water which was really nice since a few other Tahoe beaches I've been to did have that. There is a nice play structure for children, the bathrooms are nice and clean, and the staff were really friendly. In terms of the beach being clean, there was a worker making brunches picking up any trash he came across, so again, it was VERY clean. We walked from where we stayed, but parking seemed to be plenty. They also have a free shuttle car to drop you at your motel in the area (we didn't take it) that looked very clean and is a nice touch! We hadn't stayed in South Lake Tahoe before, but definitely enjoyed the area and this beach! read more

Go to Zephyr Cove or Sand Harbor Beach - avoid this place - even if its convenient while your in Stateline. Much nicer beaches elsewhere. This one has high entrance fees per person and not particularly nice. There is a playground and its possible fewer people if that is important to you. Thomas F. Regan Memorial City Beach is free and very close - beach quality is not all that much different. The lake gets evermore cloudy. They like to blame jet ski or motorboats. I'm not so sure about that. To me it seems like wastewater must be getting pumped into it from somewhere. If you want to jump in the lake this might be the best time to do it in terms of temperature. It heats up end of August and September. I prefer the indoor pool at Harrahs. read more

Great beach, we love it, don't mind the $30 fee, we live here, and go weekly usually...My only complaint is my husband is not quite 60 yet and they sometimes just automatically give him a discount, I think this is hurtful to people that aren't even 60+ or maybe look it and are younger..They should just have a sign up saying if you are 60+ and want the small ($3) discount then ask for it. We visited Lake Tahoe for my annual birthday . There is an admission fee that you can wave it , if you have shore hotel reservation. With out pass you need to pay ! So careful about this information, some people take it as an extra and complain about it. Beach is wide and you can swim 80 feet towards north. WALKING DISTANCE FROM HARVEY'S LAKE TAHOE With the rainy season that this past winter that ended the drought in California the lakes and reservoirs were filled close to 100% capacity. To take advantage of this situation I wanted to do two things this year: 1) go camping 2) go to Lake Tahoe. At Lake Tahoe there were certain areas I wanted to visit such as Zephyr Cove or Sand Harbor. However I decided to go to this beach because I was staying at Harvey's Lake Tahoe. Last Thursday instead of driving to certain places around Lake Tahoe I walked about 11 minutes from Harvey's to Lakeside Beach. I didn't go to this beach when it was fully packed as I was there from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. This beach is pretty nice. The scenery is breathtaking as you can see the mountains in the background. Due to the winter rain the water at this beach is clear. Since Lake Tahoe is a freshwater lake you don't feel the saltiness on your body when you get out of the water as with other beaches or lakes. The currents at this beach isn't so strong that you get pulled into the water or you get pushed around. That means you can walk far away from shore to get neck high in water. The soothing currents relax you when you're in the water. There's no need to get a body massage at a masseuse - just stand shoulder high in the water and relax. The water is initially cold however the water near the shore tends to be more warmer due to the sun and sand. The one advantage is if you're staying at either Harvey's Lake Tahoe or Harrah's Lake Tahoe you don't need to drive to this beach. For about an 15-minute walk from those resorts to this beach you don't have to worry about finding limited places to park. So if you're staying at either Harvey's or Harrah's and don't want to drive other parts of Lake Tahoe you can just walk to Lakeside Beach. read more

This is a long overdue post, we went here during the summer and we had a blast! There is an entrance fee but we got in for free because we were given a complimentary pass in the inn that we stayed in, which was a win! It was also walking distance. The place was clean, it wasn't overcrowded. The water is just cool enough to freshen you up from the midday heat. The view is breathtaking and the water is crystal clear! There are also a play structure in the area and a cafe, if you really don't want to get wet, but I really suggest to at least dip your toes in and feel the sand and water. It's so relaxing. We brought our own umbrella and mat, but you can also rent them. I love this place and will definitely come back! read more

Five minute walk from Harvey's is this open to the public gated little lakeside beach. It's a large grain sandy beach. Winter or summer the winds may really blow by the lake, but it's a beautiful place to relax and take in the scenery even when it's too cold to consider going into the water. Picnic tables. Beautiful beach surrounded by the views of the mountain. The beach was pretty secluded and had less traffic than other areas which is why I enjoyed this more. My friends clicked like millions of pictures on the beach. I didn't click any picture of mine on the beach but I did click a few pictures of the beach. Lots of parking, paved/flat walk to entrance, on-site rentals (kayaks, paddle boats, boats, beach chairs, etc...), children playgrounds, shade from trees, picnic tables, clean restrooms, sandy beach, volleyball courts, drinkable water bottle refill station... what more can you ask for. No baby changing table in the bathroom. There's a small cafe that sold 3 chicken tenders and small fries for $$12 next door. At a different beach we hiked a step hill with small dangerous cliffs and boulders with a baby, 2 and 4 year old this was a peaceful experience for our young family. read more

Lakeside Beach provides everything for both beach goers and water sports enthusiasts. Most of the hotels in the area provide free passes to the beach. It is a sizable beach, though on the weekends it does fill up fast, so get there early and don't forget towels, chairs and sunblock (high elevation sun is intense!). Water is a little warmer here, but, still, it's Lake Tahoe! This is a private beach, so no alcohol, but feel free to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages. There is a beach bar that serves lunch, beers (again, you can't bring the beers on the beach). At the west end of the beach is a marina where you can rent most any water craft as well as go parasailing. There is parking, but most people walk from there accommodations. If you're in the area, nothing like fun in the sun on Lake Tahoe! read more

I've never been to Lake Tahoe before, so coming here is definitely a bucket list treat. I got to experience it while driving to the area and here at Lakeside beach. Lakeside beach is one of the beaches around Lake Tahoe itself that's pretty much the closest one to my hotel and to the California/Nevada state line. It's picturesque views and vistas are pretty much amazing. Driving from Reno, NV 1 hour south to Lake Tahoe was nice, especially when you pass Carson City and get the first glimpses of Lake Tahoe. It was really one of those moments that just says wow that makes it all worth while. Having that experience makes life worth exciting, don't you think? Lakeside beach is a private beach with public access. A bunch of hotels are nearby with the mega casinos standing watch over the area. Not sure why that's the case though, but it is what it is. For me, the just having the opportunity to be here and just enjoy the fact that I was in Lake Tahoe was already pretty awesome. It was a bucket list travel item for me and I was glad to put it on the schedule in 2017. Yay me. :) The overall experience here at (one of the shores) lakeside beach here in Lake Tahoe was quite amazing, very scenic, and beautiful. The combination of the snow capped mountains in the distance and the lake made it really nice to hang out in. Yes, it is a large landlocked lake in southwest corner of Nevada and millions of visitors and tourists flock here at any time of the year. I actually had a zen moment here while looking at the lake. It was a nice calm and casual day when I was here in a Tuesday morning around 8am. There was a couple of people taking photos as well while I was here as well. Even if it is a large lake, having that constant wind and tidal action can make this lake mimic the ocean. As mentioned before, Lakeside beach is located a couple of blocks away from stateline avenue on the California/Nevada state line. Since this private beach gives public access, there is no admission fee ever! That's possibly the best feature about coming here, along with the great views and the the natural raw Beauty of Lake Tahoe itself. The parking is pretty good, you just need to park along the fence area and you should be able to stay for a while. I spent about an hour an a half here, just staring at the water and be amazed at the fact that I am in Lake Tahoe. There is restroom facilities here, as well as child playground equipment, among other things. Not sure if there were any benches on the beach itself, as parts of it extended elsewhere beyond where I was at. I sat on the stairs of the aforementioned playground equipment and basically admired the scenery as Mother Nature and mankind had created. It was indeed picture perfect and very much selfie approved! If you don't want to drive too far for a place on Lake Tahoe. Feel free to come here and check this out. It's a free beach and definitely worth the experience. Just remember to double check when you are planning on going. I happened to be there in early October and it was a little chilly. It dipped down to the mid 30's F. It wasn't cold for me, as I had been seeing my jacket. 5.0 stars overall. Outstanding! One of the things to do while in Lake Tahoe. Not sure if it's safe enough to swim or snorkel around in the lake. Relaxing, scenic, beautiful but...cold! You have to remember that Lakeside Beach is in Tahoe and regardless of the time you visit this beach, Tahoe is always a cooler city. It's gorgeous though. It overlooks the mountains and in the distance, you can see other parts of Lake Tahoe. My husband and I brought our beach towels and chairs; we sat in our chairs wrapped up in our towels. For a few moments, the sun came out and cleared up the clouds in the sky; it actually felt a little warm. We took off our towels and enjoyed a few minutes of the sun. What I love about this beach is that it is peaceful and very nature driven; lots of wild birds are spotted like ducks, geese, seagulls (of course) and many small exotic birds that are native to the city. The lake itself is freezing; my husband who is very brave loves to take a quick swim in the icy waters; he says it feels exhilarating. Crazy right; but you only live once! Whenever my husband and I visit Tahoe we always make it a point to visit at least one of the beaches; it's a nice way to enjoy your time and it's not overwhelming crowded either. read more
