My family visited after kayaking in the lake for a few hours (rented the boats from the building next door!) and the ice cream was such a treat afterwards. I tried the Peanut Butter Fudge and Butter Crunch in a waffle cone. The cones are made in house and they smell AMAZING as you stand outside and wait! I loved the flavors and texture of the ice cream, they were fantastic. I've become somewhat of an ice cream snob and I think this is some of the best I've had in recent memory. First time visiting Lakeside creamery and it was very delightful after a long sunny day in Deep Creek. There was a long line outside when we arrived but it went very fast and probably only had to wait 10 or so minutes. The staff was very pleasant and efficient went taking our orders. After a long hike, we stopped at Lakeside Creamery on our way to lunch. They have a wide selection of original and creative flavors. I decided to go with the fudge swirl and raspberry chocolate truffle. After paying, you can walk outside to a seating area with a view of deep creek lake. There's even dock behind the shop so if you are craving ice cream on the water! The one little hiccup was when trying flavors, my friend was handed a sample with a bug on the sample.... This is an old school ice cream parlor. The creamery is aptly named as the flavors are all rich with milk fat and decadent. The youngest had Chocolate butter fudge which tasted more like crazy rich chocolate milk. The oldest had orange ice cream which she loved. It I would pass on. At our last visit, Josh took the best care of our large family of 18 and made me, a 7 month pregnant lady, feel very welcomed and he didn't give me a hard time for not knowing what flavor I wanted and sampling several flavors before figuring out the perfect combination! We drove by here Labor Day and saw an insanely long line, so we decided to pass and visit the next day when they opened because, who doesn't love ice cream and want to support a small, local business? Minus (the biggest) 1-Star (possible) for Flavor - As you can see from the menu, there's nothing crazy, just vanilla and chocolate and some more vanilla and chocolate in mixed variation. No non-dairy offerings (one of my tots has a dairy intolerance). I get that they make their own ice cream, but even the basics or subpar basic. Minus 1-Star for the Customer Service - The only young lady that looked as though she were working did not seem happy to have such a large crowd when the store opened. At one point midway ordering, my 4-year old decided to change her mind on the flavor she wanted and I asked (as nicely as I could) if we could change the flavor; the employee tore the paper she was writing on and proceeded to angrily start all over hand-writing our order. My only regret: no sorbets when we went. I'm a huge sorbet fan, but that's just my personal taste. We're at a CREAMERY, though, right? This is ice cream town, not sorbet-ville! So, when in Rome... Being that Fall was just about underway, I figured I'd get the most 'basic' two-scoop combo I could think of. Coffee and Pumpkin Pie. By Starbucks, if that didn't taste like a perfect pumpkin spice latté, I don't want to know what else would. Perfection in a cone! Speaking of cones, the only other complain I had was that the cone was a bit on the stale side. Still very edible and enjoyable, just not really crunchy. It didn't matter, though; it worked perfectly as a means of holding the good stuff until I could polish it off. Next time I'm up by the lake, if this joint is open, I'm stopping by again. I love ice cream--almost like pizza, there is usually no bad ice cream. This ice cream did not live up to the hype. Caveat that we did go on a busy Sunday evening, but it was absolute chaos inside. When we got in line, we were right at the door so it's not like it was super long, but it took at least 30 minutes to get our order. The workers had no idea how to manage the line and right as we got up to the counter, it was like most of them disappeared and only 2 were left in the front to take and make orders. We tried a root beer float--it ended up to be mostly foam and halfway filled. Kids got sugar cones, and I got a waffle cone. The ice cream seemed pretty standard--good but not amazing. The waffle cone was the highlight. Next time we might just go and grab a pint to take back instead of wait in the endless line. I was in Deep Creek with 11 other girls during a bachelorette weekend, and we stopped by here on a Saturday night around 10 PM, after wrapping up a late dinner nearby and before heading out to the bar. The place was pretty busy, not surprising given it was a summer weekend and the area seemed hopping with other bachelor/bachelorette parties at the time. The line was long, but the employees were efficient at getting through it as quickly as possible. There were a lot of really delicious-looking flavors, and I went with the chocolate butter fudge on the recommendation of a friend, who was local. I got a pretty generous scoop for a flat $2 after tax (I believe they charge based on weight). The ice cream was heavenly, and so creamy that it was actually a bit hard to dig out. It looked like there was a good amount of free parking outside, but since it was so busy I was glad we were able to walk over (we were coming from the restaurant Ace's Run and it was only a short walk). The shop wasn't really clean at the time we were there (again, busy weekend), and I wouldn't say it necessarily has any atmosphere if you're having your ice cream to stay. There's a small amount of seating inside, as well as a bathroom. Really yummy ice cream; definitely stop by if you're in the area and have a sweet tooth! read more

Always enjoy a visit to Lakeside Creamery. We have not been there for probably about 5 years, but stopped in last night because it was our first ice cream shop stop during COVID. We were surprised it was fairly crowded since it's after Labor Day and a week night. They have 4 windows open, two were in use last night. Lines were maybe 6 people deep and we did wait about 15 minutes to get served, but it was a nice night so it was fine. They have little awnings up right outside each window and spray painted logos on the pavement for where to stand for social distancing. Patrons and staff were wearing masks and following social distancing from what I observed. I had a Cookie Monster sundae which is 3 scoops cookies & cream, hot fudge, Oreo cookies and whipped cream with a cherry. My husband had a waffle cone of vanilla. Their ice cream is always tasty and of course you have a nice view of the lake. Boats can dock below and people can come up from the water. They have a lot of flavors and types of sundaes and banana splits. Menu is on a digital screen on outside of the store. No one is allowed inside the store due to COVID. read more

I got the cake batter in a cake cone with rainbow sprinkles which is usually my go to at any ice cream shop. Their prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. There is a place to dock if you're on a boat and want to stop for a treat. It's a long steep walk up the stairs though, so be careful. When we went, the line was really long on a Friday afternoon but it moved quickly and the staff seems to know what they are doing to move things along. I've been here many times over the years- from stopping summer trips to going with a friend's family on their yearly vacation to the lake. This is a small ice cream store on the main road that wraps around the lake, decent parking and friendly staff. What I like about this place is quick service, good ice cream which I believe they make themselves? and innovative sundaes that are very delicious. I have had everything from waffle cone with scoops of black raspberry, to sundaes and cups of a nice combo of ice cream and toppings. On my most recent trip, I scooped a peanut butter cup sundae and shared it. Comes with 3 vanilla, hot fudge, pb sauce, pb cups and whipped cream. Would have liked to have more pb cup pieces honestly, but the sauces and whipped cream was very good. Possibly the toughest thing to negotiate was the cup it comes in. Not sure- would've been nice to have a little more room to get in there. Was a nice end to a good trip and meal sweetening the taste buds before enjoying more creamy desserts later. Big dessert guy.
