We discussed a very large front yard undertaking with him. We wanted a "low grass" front yard concept and I explained to him some general flowers and plants I wanted involved. He put an outdoor landscaping "floor plan" together if you will. We talked things through and after some slight adjustments, we moved forward! He was great to organize and plan with. The issue is the timing of all of the plants and when they would be arriving due to the "zone" we are in. On the day of the project he and his team member arrived bright and early, discussed the plan and drawing once again to make sure we were all on the same page and got to work. Ben handled much of the getting rid of the grass and having level and even dirt. We had him bury a pipe regarding our excess water pump so that it was clean and underground and to the sidewalk. Then all of the plants were put into place and everything was covered with mulch. We even had him take out some large bushes that were in the back yard as part of the project while he was here. He was great to work with, had awesome follow up and always explained why something was happening. In his profession there obviously are some weather dependencies, so he was always good about keeping us informed if something had to slightly shift in the schedule.

Dan... we had four other landscape companies come out to discuss what to do. Most said they could grow grass. Some said we had to either cut down or thin out our trees. Dan is the only one that said we couldn't grow grass which is what we have been trying to do for the last 15 years. He recommended we put beds with ground cover under the trees and had a plan drawn up with all kinds of perennials and generally very little maintenance. He assured me that he would keep an eye on it and make sure all goes well. I felt like I finally had someone tell me the truth and provide a great solution. He was a great pleasure to work with. Absolutely no high pressure or unattainable promises. Jose and Edgar - always had a smile on their faces, even when they had completed something and I changed my mind so they had to redo an area. -never saw such great teamwork. I have noticed at my front garage door, side…read morealuminum trim on both sides of the garage door have been damaged a foot and a half from the bottom of the door. Metal trim outside of the door is dented from their front end loader hitting the metal during snow removal. A number of garage doors in my community with this trim are also damaged in this same way, at the same height by the loader. I hold little hope for any admission of error by LaRosa. And certainly no repair work to my trim by their company. If you hire this company for snow removal BEWARE of damage to your property by their equipment.

In our defense some…read morehow a plumbing permit was pulled by someone other than us and without our authorization so we refused to do a project with Scott Devereux. We have never done work with him and it is sad he took it upon himself to write a bad review about us. The contract he presented to us was well expired and never materialized within a reasonable amount of time. Just look him up-Scott Devereux the owner of Cedarburg Landscaping and see for yourself.

This company was subcontracted by the contractor for the sewer replacement project on our street to…read moredo the sod work on the boulevards between the sidewalks and curbs. The laying of the sod was subpar at best. It was laid hastily. Pieces were not cut to the proper size. Sod was left overlapping onto concrete or tucked under rather than cut in some places. Gaping spots were left open. Other plant material was sodded over. Some of the sod used was dried out prior to being laid. The company was charged with watering the sod in for 30 days after laying it. The method they used for watering was the equivalent of aiming a firehose at the sodded areas from short range. The result was displaced sod and topsoil (which was put down prior to laying the sod) either being compacted by the pressure or washed away from under the sod as pieces were blasted by the pressure from the spray. This went on for about 3 days, after which they essentially disappeared - it's been 7 days now since they've been seen on the street. In the meantime, some of us reworked the sod laying, added new topsoil and asked permission from the village to not have them water our boulevard anymore. Whether they're planning on showing up again I have no idea. I just hope they abide by the signs put up by some of us to not water our areas. I'm not even going to get into the way they removed roots from trees prior to putting in the topsoil. Unless this is just a one-off series of unfortunate events (which I'd find hard to believe given that they're supposed to be a professional landscaping outfit) I wouldn't let them clean the clippings off my lawnmower, much less let them anywhere near my property.
