The Lodge, which is nominally a healthcare facility, offered neither of these. The rehab services were inconsistent - less than the daily rehab that he needed - and didn't provide the sort of rehab he needed. The staff was rude and inconsiderate. The Lodge placed considerable strain on my grandparents. Neither they nor I would recommend them for rehab.

His secretary who's probably retired now--or she looked like she should--got on my case for missing my appointment. Well, I DID NOT miss it. She was on vacation and his wife didn't know how to work the office computer. I had a printout in the car showing I had the right time. When you go in, the first thing he's going to ask is about your insurance. I can understand that; you have to keep the lights on. But, he could do that a bit more discreet. I have not had this problem with other therapists other than him. I like to keep things light in conversation. I don't get in other people's personal business. He was trying to engage me in personal conversation and like why? He was nice one day, distant the next. Be consistent. I got where I hated to go in to see him. The PTA at the time was no drama. With him, I never know what he mood was going to be.

Our experience with Riverside was a positive one. At 81, my mother broke her hip. She had rarely…read morebeen hospitalized, and never in a group rehab setting so we anticipated the worst, but we ended up with the best. Everyone from the administration to the janitor staff in this facility is caring and kind. It's an old building but is well kept and does not smell. The therapy room is large and all of the therapists, especially Barbara, are wonderful. My mother left after five weeks and was stronger than she was when she arrived and had full weight bearing on her left side. Highly recommend!

This place is intolerable! We had our Nanny in for a few days and they couldn't get anything…read morecorrect!!! It is dirty and smelly. The staff could care less if you are a patient, resident, or a visitor; they will still ignore you just the same. The level of disorganized chaos was almost laughable, except that it was directly effecting my loved one. She slept on a broken bed for several days. We asked time and time again for it to be fixed or if we could even contract someone to come in a fix it. Every time we were told that a "ticket" had been placed for the order or "maintenance wasn't in". When a call was returned, they said that the bed had been swapped out. I asked Nanny if it had been done when I came to visit, she said no. I checked the lower part of the bed and it still wouldn't move. Her phone was to be hooked up two days after her check-in, it was a weekend so that was understandable. However, that day the phone was not hooked up so I questioned the nurse during my visit. "Maintenance is already gone" was all I got. The next day I was told that her stay was too short to justify and that there must have been a "misunderstanding". That is not even the worse of it!! She is on regular breathing treatments, every four hours. It is preventative care, NOT "as you need it". She didn't get most of her treatments and had episodes there that could have been prevented if the staff had been competent enough to relay messages or care for their patients. There were many other problems with lack of information, attitudes, and and even basic care taking. I could go on and on. The main point being, if you care for someone, do NOT take them here. Worst establishment regarding anything that I have ever stepped foot in.
