Great location and value. You don't have to spend $$$ to enjoy a nice day on a local golf course.

The Pro Shop has a homey, farm-esque feel to it. We checked in at 8:30 for a 9:10 tee time and were told, for the first time, that we had to be off the course at 1:00 for a shotgun start tournament. On a busy Saturday, that would be a stretch. "Driving range" was just a few grass mats where you hit balls off a cliff; interesting. Course was nice, needed a little water. And the rough was deep. I'm not sure if this on purpose or a lack of maintenance. Course had nice views. Very hilly, some blind shots, but not as many as Killington. It was very tough to figure out how to get to the next hole, we had to turn around a few times. After we finished the round, we wanted to check out the bar and maybe grab a bite to eat. However, there is no bar or restaurant. Just a snack window, though it appears the food they were producing was high quality. Overall, for $120, I'd rather go to Green Mountain. Though, Fox Run is still be best course "around" - hands down.

They either followed us and sat with the mower running, or held up play as they went on to the next hole. Unbelievable the lack of awareness around them. We played 9 holes in 1.5 hours. Fairways were in horrible shape, they were rock hard sand/dirt. They have a real bad geese problem. You're constantly having to step around geese you know what. It's a shame because it could be a beautiful course, it has fantastic views.

Fairways were in horrible shape with tons of large rocks in the fairways that could affect the out come of your shot, they were also rock hard sand/dirt. So we asked the Women at the Pro shop if there were any deals since we already played 18 that day. Very crabby women said nope $54 to ride 9 (personally it wasn't worth $20) but we had nothing else to do so we paid it and went on our way. We finished the 9th and went to play a couple extra holes before sunset about 45 minutes away. On the 10th hole we were chased down by the same Crabby women who took our money and yelled at us "saying that they are running a business here and we only paid for 9 holes so pick up your ball and get out of here". I promise you that by letting us play a couple of extra holes you would have helped your business!! There are plenty of Golf Courses in the lakes region and it will be a long long time before myself or my guest spend a penny at your Business again!!

I know it's a live free or die state but have some smarts. I have played Canterbury a number of times but on July 10, 2018 when I checked for our 2:00 pm tee time I asked about the forecasted thunderstorms. I was told there were no storms expected. My phone app disagreed and we stayed alert. Around 5:15 when we were finishing #12 we could see storms rolling in from the west. On 13 we heard the first thunder clap. My phone weather app indicated lightning only 6 miles away. No warning horns. We played 14 and before heading to 15 and the way back the thunder was on us and my weather app told us seek shelter lightning was only 2 miles away. We immediately started back for the clubhouse passing other groups who were still playing. Still no warning horns. As we came in by the tee on #2 a foursome was teeing off and still no warning horns. By the time we got to our cars it was clear that this was a microburst. The sky exploded with tropical winds breaking tree limbs and throwing debris everywhere. One staff member was securing carts but no one in the pro shop was doing anything to help get players off the course. The storm was so severe that trees were down on the access road and 93N was at a standstill. It looked like winter with an inch of hail on the highway.

Clearly they're hurting for cash or competence. During the drought after Covid it went to hell, we keep giving it a shot, but they can't seem to get it together. For $74 it's a massive let down. For $45 I'd accept it for what it is. I really want to like it, but I just can't. I'll be back in a few years to try again, but I'm not holding out hope unless they actually put effort into improving conditions.
