The villas and independent living apartments are beautiful. Lots of activities. Care for a loved one once they advance to memory care or the nursing facility drastically drops. We've waited 15 - 30 min. for someone to help my mother use the restroom where employees sat at the desk where the alert lights are used and take their time getting to the room. Mom is often left waiting in a wet diaper. Employees are often in the dining room when it is not being used, unused rooms, or seated in the large gathering space on their cell phones. I particularly wish employees were more engaged with elderly residents in wheelchairs were gathered in the main entry. We were told they gathered residents here for social engagement - but no one is socially engaged. The lack of engagement between residents and staff on their phones makes Lakeview advance patient care a very lonely place to be. read more

Managers are wolves in sheep clothing. They promise support and forget you are there until they need to part ways because they failed to orient you. No team work. A lot of pointing fingers. Horrible experience. New hires beware!! read more

If you want your loved one kicked into "LONG TERM CARE" prematurely, take them to Lakeview Village of Lenexa. Their facility gets a 5 STAR but the staff SUCK. They were rude and lazy. They lied on my husband's medical records and I had to demand correction. Why do these nursing facilities feel like they have to treat the elderly so bad. The Case Manager Megan was the worst. She lied about insurance coverage saying they turned down extended stay when she did not turn it in and think we are stupid. They kick you when you loved ones are sick. Lakeview need to do better recruiting help from Case Managers, and especially the therapists...if you are too much trouble you are sent to pasture. No wonder their LONG TERM CARE facility stay maxed out....You need to do better... read more

What an impressive and beautiful facility, and I didn't even get to see nearly all of it. We had a loved one on the second floor, which is reserved for rehabilitation and short term stays I believe. The staff was caring, attentive, and they kept us in the loop with everything going on. It's tough when your loved one can't be at home, but it's comforting in knowing that they're receiving quality care around the clock. Thankfully our loved one is at home again, and we know that we have Lakeview Village to thank, along with knowing they're there if we ever need them again. read more

I just spoke with the marketing person today about making an appointment for a tour. It was not a pleasant experience. The conversation was not welcoming at all. It revolved around qualifying my mom, all her potential red flags with health issues, how they had to look out for their liability, plus the assets needed to qualify. The entire experience was disappointing, discouraging and just the opposite of the other independent living places I have contacted. read more

I feel very comfortable with my parents being at Lakeview! They love the community and I love that everything is taken care of. I would tell anyone I know to think about Lakeview for themselves for family members. read more

My father was transferred here from St. Luke's after a bout with a unknown illness. He basically had to start getting his strength back and needed a lot of support. He's been here about 10 days and expect to be checked out on Friday. He has gone from completely weak to much stronger and able to get around on his own with a little bit of a walker for support and balance. The rooms are spacious the staff is very attentive; the food is pretty good as far as food goes. The facility seems modern and clean and there are beautiful grounds to walk around. I can't say enough about how friendly the staff has been during my father's visit here. I highly recommend this place. read more

I have gone through the process of growing old at Lakeview Village during the past 16 years and feel that I am lucky that I have chosen a retirement community at the young age of 76. At the time, I wondered if I could live with all those old people, but, at my age now, I am glade I did not wait until I was too old to enjoy the luxuries of letting someone else provide me with all of the extras I am now enjoying. I no longer need to cook my main meal, of wash those dishes, clean my house, mow my lawn of replace a light bulb. When an appliance needs repair, or replacement, I just call in a work order, and it is taken care of immediately at no extra charge. If I get sick, there is a Doctor's clinic of the premises, or if I need a nursing home for a while or permanently, there is a highly rated, 110 bed facility right here, and I have already paid for it in my monthly fee. When I was accepted a Lakeview, they assured me that I am here for the rest of my life. No one has ever had to leave Lakeview because they have outlived their money. That is just one of the old folks' tensions that I no longer concerns me. I think that is why I am now 92 years old and still enjoying my living; except maybe, for my daughters wanting me to quit driving. Thank goodness Lakeview has an excellent bus service. After a total knee replacement I was admitted to the Rehab Center for 3 weeks. I received outstanding care. The food was great and the immediate staff was some of the most polite people I've met. The Physical Therapy Department had state of the art equipment. They tailored my care specifically to my needs. I would highly recommend Lakeview Rehab Center for any after surgery short term stay. The only negative I have is, their billing department is quite antiquated. But really believe it wouldn't take much to bring it into the 21st century! read more
