We booked a tour 6 months in advance, when we got on the bus we started feeling sick after half hour. Asked the driver if we could move up closer he said yes not assigned seats. We choose a seat that did not have personal belongings did not got to first attraction. Passengers were upset when they came back on the bus. Driver said we had to go back in the bus where we were sitting originally. We had to get off uber a half hour back. Never saw any attractions that were scheduled for 8 hours. Lally and Viator will not refund any money. So unprofessional, not understanding and It's not assigned seating. read more

I was on a group tour in Galway and really wanted to visit Cong Villians as I am a fan of The Quiet Man. I reached out to Lally tours about their group tour from Galway City to Connemara, Aughnanure Castle, and Cong Village. Lally tours told me that while the museums would possibly be closed as Cong Village is at the end of the tour, there would be plenty of time for me to walk around, see the sites, and explore Cong Abbey. I decked to book it; however on the day of the tour our bus driver wanted to skip Cong and head back to Galway. I brought up being a fan and that it was included and we were given only 25 minutes. 25 minutes was not what was promised to me and after the tour I emailed Lally Torus to let them know of my disappointment. They said Cong Village is flexible and not always included, even though it is clearly listed on the excision when you book and if it is "flexible" and not a part of the "tour" then why didn't they tell me that when I sent my original inquiry? I could have spent the money on something else. I am really disappointed in Lally tours and would never book with them again. Anyone planning to book with them be wary, your trip might not be quite what you think planned. read more

He was very knowledgeable and told us how Ireland is preserving their culture and requiring students from 5 years old thru high school to learn Irish; how farmers spray a colored stripe on sheep to identify them; he pointed out Connemara ponies; told us about movies filmed in the area including The Quiet Man with John Wayne & Maureen O'Hara and The Field with Richard Harris & Sean Bean. My husband and I took the Galway to Connemara and Kylemore Abbey Full Day Tour and boy did we luck out! Our driver, Macdara had been a Irish language and history teacher in the area for 35 years! Needless to say, he was extremely knowledgeable and a great guide. He took the time to ask each passenger where we were from and greeted each of us in our native language. He kept us both engaged and was more than willing to answer our questions. Being a teacher, of course he told us that the only dumb question is one not asked. So we asked! His driving skills were impeccable, taking great care and driving slowly when needed to ensure his passengers' safety. I can't speak for the other tour guides, but if you can get one with Macdara, do so! The landscape of the Connamara region is incredibly beautiful and will not disappoint. The Abbey grounds were also lovely to walk through. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Connemara on September 16 with Mac as our driver, guide and troubadour. We were fortunate to see the mountains of Connemara on a rain-free day and learn about the history of Ireland from former history teacher Mac who even mentioned the aid provided by the Choctaw tribe to Ireland during the famine. Great trip to Cliffs of Moher, winds were very strong but our guide John C was a terrific driver and knowledgeable tour guide. Our time and ability to see the cliffs from the top was very short due to the hurricane force winds but he made it up by taking us to another area to view them which was just amazing. Took a terrific day tour by boat and land around Galway Bay. Our tour guide Phil was super! Knew the answers to all our questions and had a great sense of humor. This was honestly the worst tour bus I've ever taken. We did a half day trip to the Cliffs of Moher from Galway, so maybe the duration was part of the issue. There was no guide, so this was basically just a timed bus ride there and back. The bus smelled like vomit and diapers, and there were garbage and used napkins in and around the seats. Very jerky and uncomfortable ride. For €40, we would have been better off taking a local bus. read more

My wife and I went on a group tour with 4 other couples on their minibus for a week. It was the vacation of a lifetime! We did everything. We explored castles, wondered around the Aran islands; climbed a mountain in Connemara, hiked to a massive waterfall and took in breathtaking views in the ring or Kerry, took a boat ride under the cliffs of moher, and had fun pub crawling and shopping in the towns. Things I didn't expect: all the locals are so friendly and treat you more like friends than tourists. The food is unbelievable! The bus is very comfortable. The overwhelming determination of our lally tour guide to show us a good time. The best thing about this vacation, was the ability to relax and enjoy it. Lally tours took care of everything for us. We didn't have to book a thing. From the beginning, they set us up on our bus ride from Dublin airport to Galway when we landed. They took care of all our sleeping accommodations, all our side tours, boat tickets, you name it. We didn't have to lift a finger. They gave us the best suggestions as to where to eat and shop, and which tourist traps to avoid. After a night of heavy drinking, you didn't have to worry about driving or thinking too hard. You could comfortably nap it off on the bus. HAha. The stress of traveling was nonexistent, and we had the most incredible time! I would highly recommend Lally tours. We took a bus trip with Lally to see the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren. It was a smaller bus which I preferred and our tour guide JOHN was the best! He talked and told us information about Ireland, the history and the places we were driving by. He included sharing stories of his family and their history which really connected you to Ireland from someone who has lived the life. We stopped at Dunguaire Castle for a quick photo op - took a tour of Aillwee Cave (optional and not included in the cost $6 euro). Spent a good amount of time at the Cliffs of Moher - then stopped for lunch in Doolin - it was an okay lunch - in my opinion, the weakest link. The food was okay, just heavy cafeteria style and you paid for it (approx $11). I would suggest you make time to grab an ice cream at the place down the block before getting back on the bus. OMG great ice cream. After lunch we stopped at the Burren to walk around - John had alot of info on how it was created and it's history. Then as a bonus (this top was not listed) he made a quick stop at the "Leprechauns Chapel" - a tiny well house with fresh cold well water. It was along the route and cute as can be. Some of us took a drink of the fresh water. If you have a chance, ask for John and see if you can be on the smaller bus. He was very caring, he made sure you stayed comfortable, was open to questions and the smaller bus is just more intimate plus I think you are more nimble to get around than those big buses. I would do it again and maybe pack a lunch (again, it wasn't bad, just too heavy for me personally for lunch). read more

Loved my experience with Lally tours. I recently traveled with Lally tours as part of a choir from America and it was the best experience. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. The accommodations they set us up with were wonderful, and the meals they arranged were fantastic. They take pride in their work and their company and it shows in how they take care of their guests. Their coach drivers are capable and cautious and don't take unnecessary risks. I went on a tour here and it was great. Worth the price. Cheaper than most tours and you go to more than just one destination. Very informative. Learned a lot about the culture and history of Ireland. Saw very beautiful veiws. Cliffs of Moher, Castle and the town of Doolin. Had Darren for a guide. He was very nice and passionate about his job. He also studied Irish lamguage and Irish history. Told us about himself and his beautiful country. He loves his job and home. I would highly recommend this tour company. I recently took the day tour from Galway to the Cliffs of Moher and Burren. The length of time spent at each the cliffs and the burren was perfect, I was able to see all that I wanted and take a bunch of pictures. The driver played authentic Irish music when he wasn't giving commentary on the scenery. He was very knowledgeable of the area and gave good suggestions for each stop.
