My local train station in North Tipperary, which they've been threatening to close for as long as I…read morecan remember. It has its drawbacks: There is no office. There is no toilet. There is no ticket machine. Just a platform and a bench, which is covered. You can buy your ticket on the train from the nice conductor man. I really like this station for a few reasons, which are seasonal to be fair: In the summer there is usually some sort of bird taking up roost here. Mainly swallows, but I have see starlings with a brood in under the eaves one year. Waiting for your lift or for the train on a warm summers evening, listening to the surrounding noises such as a dog barking in the distance, birds singing or black bird warnings, the occasion car or tractor going over the bridge nearby. It can be a peaceful place. I am a fan of Clough train station

I love to travel by train and the Ennis train/bus station is one of the nicest in Ireland. They…read morerecently remodelled the entire structure and it is very well laid out and only minutes away from the centre of town. Of all of the stations in Ireland it is by no means the largest, but it is one of the cleanest and the staff there are always polite and friendly. With a taxi rank right outside the front door and vending machines in the lobby you can't ask for more.

Parking ample, drop off at the door. A great service and facility that more people should use if starting a trip of Ireland rather than getting bogged down in Dublin.

They have free WiFi and even computers and printers to print of your plane ticket if need be. There are hire car companies and bus connection....there is NO train station. As soon as you get off the plane, you're in the middle of magical Ireland!
