So where shall we begin? We actually found Lamar Wedding Center by chance and decided to walk in... when we did we sat down with Rita who helped us every step of the way... making us feel very comfortable with the decisions we made .... when our wedding was postponed due to Covid Rita was very understanding and worked with us without hesitation on our new plans and new wedding date . When the day finally came , September 18th 2021, Lamar wedding center superseded our exceptions! The professionalism was above and beyond and everyone that was involved that day really helped make our day very special and amazing ! We recently just got our pictures and we are blown away ! They are absolutely beautiful and they captured so many moments my husband and I did not see ! I can not thank Lamar Wedding Center enough ! Lamar Wedding Center did my wedding photos. Without going into detail, I will just say that I cried when I first saw my photos and I haven't printed any of them because I hate them. The photos are so unprofessional looking and so many important things were missed. Any time I see other people's wedding pictures, I feel so jealous and sad. Lamar Wedding Center was fabulous! Katarina was simply amazing! She was one of the photographers for my wedding and I would not have trusted anyone else to give me a such a beautiful and natural look in my photos. She's so talented, patient, and understanding. I wish I could give Lamar Wedding center a zero! Just horrible! I used them for my wedding in March and the two ladies- mostly the owner was very rude. She came into my hotel room as I was getting styled with complaints.. how the hotel I was using "The Westin" was horrible and went on about why didn't I get a suite or have champagne etc. I ignored her rude remarks because I didn't want anything to affect my mood that day. Fast forward to pictures.. they were completely clueless and gave no type of directions what so ever! When I asked how we should pose she replied "I don't know, do what ever!"My bridal party complained about them all night and had doubts that everyone was being captured in the group pictures(turns out they were right, many of the pictures cut off some of my bridal party even though we kept asking them if they were getting everyone) Fast forward again to cocktail hour- the one photographer starts wondering looking for food and making rude comments how there is nothing there that's good (all I could think about then was uhh ok thanks for the food review I guess). Then comes reception, they were paid extra to stay an extra hour and they still did a horrible job with the pictures A few Months After my wedding when I called about my thank you cards the owner got upset when I asked her a question about the extra fees they were charging for my thank you cards and hung the phone on me. Yes very "professional" ..overall HORRIBLE experience with this company. It sucks because we did an extensive amount of research before deciding on them, only for them to be this bad. So amazing and so affordable! Choosing them was the best decision i made for my wedding. I had my flowers, officiant, photography through them for such a great price too! And everything came out so perfect. Rita is such a lovely person as well. She made the ceremony funny but also serious at the same time, it was more than i could ask for :) I deff recommend using this company. read more

I hired Lamar Wedding Center to photograph my wedding in NYC. I was referred to Lamar from other friends who used them for their wedding. So I thought I was quite secure in my decision. The photographer was great and had great rapport with my family and guests. Once it came down to finalizing album options, they were not really clear on what was included in the package I chose. They had a women with a very, very heavy accent try to approve the final order, which in itself was frustrating. I asked what the albums would look like and she said go online and you will see them. So I did, I was expecting a hard cover for my proof book and my parents album, and what I got was a soft cover that looks cheap. It doesn't state in the contract what you actually get and the website doesn't clearly state that as well. When I called back to get some resolution, I was asked "Did you come into the store?" well no I live in Manhattan and is not able to go there in person. At that point I would have been shown exactly what I was going to receive in the package so because I opted to essentially shop online and handle this over the phone that I should get less "customer service". I don't think so. They should update they're website so that its quite clear on what you receive as to set your expectations. Final word, if you are dealing with Lamar be sure to get every single thing written up in your contract and ask for someone who speaks clear english to finalize your order. Overall the service wasn't horrible but won't be recommending them anytime soon. read more

I exchanged emails with Rita about photography packages and she provided me studio hours to come in. I also mentioned wanting to use them for other services for my wedding. We booked a 6-7p appointment and confirmed a week before. I showed up on time and the woman,Dana, at the front desk seemed confused as to why I was there and perhaps getting ready to head out for the night. I explained about my appointment and then Rita appeared. She briefly said hi, and then told us she was heading out to catch a flight after Dana (very kind) reminded her I was there for the appointment. Rita then left. No acknowledgment of my appt or anything. I got the sense they forgot my appointment which put a bad taste in my mouth. I stayed for about 15 mins as Dana explained some items. It was a waste of my time and disappointing, I would have rather rescheduled if something came up but now I won't use them for my wedding and certainly wouldn't recommend them to other brides. read more

My experience with Lamar Wedding Center has been truly horrific. This is the e-mail I wrote to them, and still have not gotten a response. However, Dana, has contacted my husband instead of contacting me to say that they will not be responding to any of my e-mails. Clearly she has no customer service skills and does not want to deal with me directly because she knows I am making valid points. "I am very disappointed with the services provided. I do not feel that the miniscule refund provided to us makes up for all of the memories of our wedding day that we lost. He didn't stay til the end like he was supposed to which to us, was the most important part, that's why we PAID FOR THE OVERTIME. The album was nothing to brag about either. I had visions of getting my albums and everyone ranting and raving about them but instead I get "eh's" or asked who I used, and then they start talking about someone else to use. You have no idea what it feels like to have to go through this, this isn't even something I would ever want to show my kids. Where are the pictures of me and my godfather, me and my godmother? Just my parents together? Just my in laws together? He missed so many things. My mother told him at the house that she would move the couch in order to take pictures in front of the wide window that she had, and he only ever took pictures in front of the loveseat!!! Instead of capturing pictures outside in the limo (The guys have one, I DON'T) he left my mothers house (claimed he was going to the church) but went BACK to MY apartment where the GUYS were. All he did was take pictures of them watching a baseball game, do you think that's what I want on my wedding day? The pictures at the church were nothing to brag about either and there was absolutely not one picture of the cocktail hour. I would like to know what he was doing while we were upstairs in the bridal suite for a half an hour before we saw him when he could have been taking pictures of the cocktail hour!! Sorry, something needs to be done. We've incurred enough hassles and stress over this. We were truly overcharged for the horrible service that we received and I would like some kind of reimbursement for it, something that counts this time. I am truly heartbroken over the services "provided" and I feel my wedding day is forever lost because of your services." Head's up. They may seem well-priced for a budget bride... but it is not worth the stress that you will feel afterwards. Stay away from them! read more

I got my start as a wedding photographer and frankly I was shocked at how completely disorganized most weddings were. Many vendors were unprofessional and unreliable to say the least. Sometimes the flowers would arrive late or the limo would show up late - or not at all. At one wedding, the church organist got his dates mixed up, so he was a no-show. The poor bride was upset about having to walk down the aisle without any musical accompaniment. Having been a music minister for many years, I handed my camera to my assistant and jumped behind the organ so the bride could walk down the aisle to the Wedding March! One day I sat down and thought, "Weddings do NOT have to be this way. If I can head up a team of talented, responsible wedding service providers, we can take the stress and chaos out of planning a wedding AND do it at a reasonable price." We chose Montclair Studio after a recommendation from a friend who hired them for his wedding. Big mistake! It's likely Michael will respond to this review defending himself without accepting that he messed up (see other reviews). We just want an apology and all of our wedding content. Michael refuses to accept any fault for his behavior. He does not return emails, texts, or phone calls (his email inbox and voicemail are also full). You will have such a bad aftertaste dealing with Michael post-wedding that you will feel bad when you look at your photos rather than be full of joy. At the wedding, things went relatively well; after the wedding is when things really got out of hand. He made it very difficult to get the wedding photo files, which was required to be able to choose photos for an album; he claimed he mailed them to us in San Francisco where we live, but he deceived us: USPS tracking # he gave us showed that he never actually sent them We called him out on that and they miraculously were sent. When we complained, he blamed USPS and said we should just pick it up in New Jersey...but we live in California! Finally, the USB of the wedding photos arrived to SF. The quality of the wedding photos were mediocre: he did not do a good job with outdoor photos or framing. He also had not sent us our Thursday afternoon Mehndi event photos. When we asked how to get those, he said to pick them up in NJ! My mother drove from Manhattan to Montclair (1+ hr driving one-way). Nobody was at the Studio when she arrived, even though she confirmed the time with him! The video was delivered AFTER the contract deadline; Michael demonstrated no remorse. My mom agreed again to drive to Montclair to pick up the Mehndi photos and the wedding videos, which he said would be ready; she arrived and while there was a USB left taped to the door (which someone could have stolen), the USB did not have any video on it! We eventually received the videos. The highlight video was very short; it almost exclusively showed highlights from our pre-wedding photoshoot and not the wedding. The full length video is missing my wife's vows as well as the Hora dance (an important highlight of any Jewish wedding). His contract stated we could receive the raw video footage if we sent him a hard drive. So we purchased a hard drive and mailed it to his studio. He was not there to receive it, so the post office mailed it back to my parents, who then mailed it to him one final time (we now had paid twice for shipping). Finally, the hard drive arrived to us in SF. We were so excited and thought this terrible saga was over. When we opened the hard drive, guess what? There was no video footage on it! My parents and my wife reached out to Michael, all to no avail. We waited months to write this because we were hoping to secure all of our wedding content first, in case he would hold it hostage due this poor review. At this point, we have given up. Any time we look at our photos, we get upset because it reminds us of this terrible experience with Montclair/Michael. Michael, if you read this, please give us our wedding raw video footage and an apology. Show some honor and accept responsibility for your mistakes.

After several visits to Brookside, this city girl that has only known concrete officially has a green thumb. The staff at Brookside are extremely helpful. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Leroy and he was able direct me to the most beautiful plants the store had to offer. He was very knowledgeable about gardening and the life spans of all of the flowers and plants. He encouraged me to make lovely pots at home. What a clever salesman. The prices were reasonable which also encouraged me to buy more. The cashier and office staff were also very cordial. This seems to be a well ran family business (I don't know, just guessing). I come here often for two reasons: customer service and fair prices. A great local business that proved to me a rose can grown from concrete.

They kept the stress level down to a minimum for us. This Company was so Courteous & very Professional. They took care of all our NEEDS! From the initial planning up to the Most critical Day. Dana was so helpful with handling the Contract/very responsive. They were always there to answer all my questions, worriers & fears! Rita is a GEM, She met w/me many times to keep things on track. She did my Engagement Photo Shoot as well. It was Fun & photos are amazing! Juan Carlos, my Wedding Photographer is a true Professional. I was so nervous at times. He made me feel so comfortable and made me feel like a true Princess that day. He knows his business and from Shots of getting my MakeUp & Hair done, dress/shoes & Accessories, Bridal Party, etc; he was timely, exact and made it all so much Fun, but with a note of Let's get this as close to perfect as Possible. Last March my daughter got married at the Water's Edge reception in Long Island City and it cost us a fortune. A few months back, she got married and my son got engaged. With no money to have a wedding, they wanted to go to the justice of the peace;I was not happy. I researched many hours on the computer, trying to find a way to give them a wedding they could afford. I found Rita, the owner of Lamar Wedding Center in Montclair; What a blessing!!! She worked with us and kept the price down . The whole package(Flowers for Girls, table arrangements, DJ, photographer,officiant, guitar music for ceremony and spanish translator) was the same price as the DJ, at my daughter's wedding. We just received the pictures from the photographer. There was NOT one bad picture; The Photographer took over 900 photos! The flowers were fresh and lasted over two weeks, after the wedding. Rita was our officiant and she combined Spanish traditions with Jewish traditions. She explained to our guests the meanings and reasons behind the two traditions . I have planned many parties from bar/bat mitzvah to weddings and been to many weddings. This was the most elaborate wedding I have ever been to. I highly reccommend Lamar Wedding Center to anyone who is looking to keep the cost down and who doesn't want any unecessary stress. read more

I would like to share my experience with Lamar. My wife and I had our wedding last year and I think Lamar did an excellent job. It's a one stop shop and it saved us a lot of energy and $$$. We did a lot of research before contacting Lamar and price wise Lamar is very reasonable. From wedding officiant, flower arrangement, to wedding photography - one stop shop with a very reasonable price, and everything went well as planned. It did NOT cost us arms and legs...both me and my wife were very happy with Lamar's service and pricing. To be fair, the photographer was not one of those top of the lines, but it served the purpose well and the photos came out just fine.I will give the photographer 4 stars. Oh well you can go hire one of those "professionals", but they will cost you $4k, $5k...I even had one "studio" quoted me for $7k....my question is, for average Americans, IS THIS REALLY NECESSARY??? Do we really need to spend that much money to "remember" this moment??? Is $7000 wedding photo shoot will make a better marriage between 2 people??? Or the life after the wedding, the love between the couple is more important??? The answer is very obvious...For me I think it is plain stupid to spend 4k, 5k or even 7k on wedding photo shoot unless you are all millionaires. read more

I want to set the record straight about Lamar Wedding Center...and, its owner...right away: 1) I am a paying client of Lamar Wedding Center; who has received wonderful...PROFESSIONAL photography, and savvy planning consultations. 2) I have, and will continue to recommend this business to anyone I know who is planning to get married. The combination of full services, professional expertise and small-business 'caring' can't be matched. 3) The owner of the business has made it her business to make her clients feel like family...both straight and LGBT 4) Unlike the unctuous "C.M.C", who wrote a scathing indictment of Lamar Wedding Center, I have actually done business with this establishment. This self-styled 'photography expert' is from Massachusetts (http://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=Zbw5-lUr_nRxQzbFkN99vA), and does nothing in his Yelp profile but rip businesses apart...many of them in other states than his own. As such, I would encourage Yelp to shut him down for abuse of its rules, and of his fellow members. He is a yammering troll. read more

I recently got married and decided to use Lamar Wedding Center to take the pictures at my wedding. I chose them because they were reasonably priced and had a fair number of good reviews. If I could do it all over again I would choose a different company. That Rita woman is just a money hungry business owner who did no real help in the whole process. Each time I went to the location she was always asking if we wanted anything else at our wedding that they offered. Our photographer was very nice, although the pictures she took were a little lackluster. When it came time to picking pictures for the album the process took longer than expected. If anyone uses them in the future take note that any corrections you make to the album should be written as though talking to a 4 year old, and even then don't expect a 100% success. Sometimes when a person is all over you trying to spend more it works, but Rita really just got under the skin very early and annoyed us with the constant question to get more stuff done with her. read more

I recently had the pleasure of working with Rita and leaving all the planning regarding my wedding in her hands. The warmth and friendly team who works at Lamar Wedding Center knows what they are about and gave insightful suggestions when my wife and I was uncertain about somethings. It's the first time in a long while I had a planner go far and beyond her pay grade to make my wedding day so flawless. Rita's punctuality at the hotel was great gave my wife and I time to say any last minute things we wanted to be done. There was a level of experience shown by the photographers and the proactive behavior shown was great. Awesome Place! This team saved our day.. what started out as a disaster came together perfectly. We used our friends for many of our services and unfortunately found out about Lamar too late. We only used them for Photo, Video and the Minister. Well, our cars came late, so, the owner called her driver and in 30 min. we were picked up from our hotel.. The florist we used came as a recommendation from my maid of honor. That was a bust! They forgot my Godmothers and my Mother's corsages. We called the emergency number at Lamar Wedding Center and they were able to get them to my reception hall in time for the family photos. Lamar Wedding Center did our wedding on June 22nd and we will forever have the best memories. Not only was the staff really nice but they did great work too. My husband was hesitant cause they told us we weren't allowed to book on the first visit to the studio cause they only accept 6 weddings a day and we thought that was a lot and we wouldn't get personal attention. Boy were we wrong. I can understand now why they cap it to 6 weddings per day. We used the officiant (Rita) who was phenominal and funny, the photography, video and flowers. I used Lamar Wedding Center for my photographer and DJ/MC at first; however added Videography at the very last minute (3 1/2 hours before the wedding!!). When I reached out to Andrew to ask for video, his response was "see you at the church!". I am so grateful to him and Rita for being so accommodating and professional. EVERYONE loved my DJ (James Cruz) and MC; especially me!! James kept making sure I was enjoying myself and had every song I requested. Lamar did the photography at my wedding and--you don't hear people say this of their wedding photos years afterwards, but--we still admire the work they did. They were professional the entire time and knew when to help and work with us and when to allow us to do our thing and just capture the moment. Lamar Wedding Center handled my wedding from top to bottom. I got the whole package, including flowers, DJ, limo, video and photography. It is so convenient everything is pretty much done on-line and if you would like to go into the actual store you can. Lamar Wedding center has several locations. Their service overall was PHENOMENAL.
