An important thing to check on when hiring a company is whether or not their own employees do all the work. Many companies outsource the actual work to another contractor. Idaho Granite's employees do all the work. Additionally, Laree offered was astute design advice. They don't do back splashes and that was a hassle having to source and deal with an extra contractor but about half the counter top people don't do back splashes either. Doug came out to my parents house while I was still in town, got to work quickly, and had the washing machine up and running in no time! Additionally, Doug was VERY friendly, had lots of conversation, and was incredibly knowledgeable and competent. He's a veteran, and still working every day because he enjoys it. It is clear his 40+ years in the the repair industry have given him the know how to effectively fix most, if not all types of appliances. I can't recommend Jensen's Appliance Repair enough, and I thank Doug for taking care of my parents. I was treated with open disrespect from the moment I walked in…read more Instead of helping, the person working there stayed on the phone, used profanity, accused me of things without cause, and made it very clear my business was not wanted. I was made to feel unwelcome, judged, and humiliated. No customer should be treated that way. Based on how I was treated, I believe this may be discrimination in a business open to the public. Idaho treats that as a public-accommodation issue. The Idaho Human Rights Commission says businesses open to the public cannot deny the full and equal enjoyment of goods and services on the basis of sex, race, color, national origin, religion, or disability. The IHRC also says initial inquiries are confidential, it conducts a neutral fact-finding investigation, and an administrative complaint must be filed before a discrimination lawsuit can be brought in Idaho. Because the IHRC warns that cases are harder to investigate when discussed publicly, I will leave the remaining details for the formal complaint process. The legal/process language in this version tracks the IHRC's public-accommodation and complaint guidance. This was degrading, hostile, and completely unacceptable, and I will be pursuing the proper channels
