Since my house sits on a double lot with an automatic gate, this was a fairly involved project, so I got bids from three different companies before deciding who to hire. Casey Arnold, the owner, stood out from the start. He was personable and easy to work with, and his bid was not only the most competitive of the three but also by far the most detailed. Where the other estimates were vague, Casey's spelled out specifics like post depth, the amount of concrete used, the type of fasteners, and hand-picked lumber. That level of transparency gave me real confidence going into the project. Casey and his crew showed up on time and worked with genuine care throughout -- both tearing out the old fence and installing the new one. They were mindful of my landscaping as well as my neighbor's, and nothing was damaged in the process. The finished fence looks fantastic -- the top line is perfectly level from end to end, which really shows the attention to detail that went into it. The whole job was also completed on schedule. If you're looking for a local, small business that combines fair pricing with real craftsmanship and professionalism, I'd recommend Select Fencing without hesitation.

I let it go at the time, but in hindsight it reflects a lack of attention to detail on the initial installation. I wish I had paid closer attention at the time of install. While the fence looked great at first, multiple issues have come up within six months. There are nails protruding through several areas, some boards were never properly attached, and both gates have repeatedly failed to function correctly--we often have to force them open just to get in and out of the yard. A wooden topper has also come loose and is now flapping in the wind. To their credit, they did respond to my initial concerns, but new problems continue to surface. Taken together, this raises concerns about the overall quality and durability of the work. I would recommend thoroughly inspecting the installation before considering the job complete.

First off…read morethey emailed Sunday night saying someone needed to be home at 0800 the next day to confirm placement. Luckily we didn't take off work because they canceled that day. Almost every single post had multiple scratches. We called and complained the first day and was told they would touch it up. After installation was complete, it was evident no touch ups were done. The owners stated that they can't control how the poles arrive to them. They suggested we buy paint and touch them up ourselves. When you spend 6 grand on a fence you expect there to be minimal damage to start. After multiple emails, they stated that when they had time they could bring a can of spray paint to try to pacify us. Also gate was very uneven among other issues. Still charged us full amount even though the poles were all damaged.

Their three-man crew quickly installed my fence, and it looks great. The neighbors comment on how much they like it too (which is a blessing. If you know what I mean.). What I like most is that the owner of the company, Dean, is actually helping with the install. He has a vested interest in making sure his customers are happy and that the fence is installed to their satisfaction. His crew are also pretty cool. You will be happy if you use Landscape & Fence Solutions!

As noted in my original review, the work was done well, and I am now satisfied with both the repairs and the resolution. ******** I wish this were a more positive review, but I would not recommend Kirkwood Fence. Our salesperson estimated that our fence repair would take 4-8 hours. He explained that the company subcontracts repair work and books labor in half-day or full-day blocks, at $750 or $1,500 respectively. Based on his estimate of the scope of work, I agreed to a full day of labor. The written estimate sent later that day initially overstated the cost by about $600, which was later corrected and approved. On the day of the repair, the crew arrived on time but had been given incomplete information and brought only half of the required materials. They were able to return to the shop, pick up the remaining parts, and complete the repair by lunchtime. Once work began, the repair itself took just over two hours. Despite this, I was charged for a full day of labor. I tried to discuss my concern with the owner, but was referred back to the salesperson, who indicated that no adjustment was possible. The repair work itself was well done and the installation team was great, but my experience with the company left me feeling I'd been suckered.
