Almost every single post had multiple scratches. We called and complained the first day and was told they would touch it up. After installation was complete, it was evident no touch ups were done. The owners stated that they can't control how the poles arrive to them. They suggested we buy paint and touch them up ourselves. When you spend 6 grand on a fence you expect there to be minimal damage to start. After multiple emails, they stated that when they had time they could bring a can of spray paint to try to pacify us. Also gate was very uneven among other issues. Still charged us full amount even though the poles were all damaged.

Based on a recommendation from Just Wooden Fences, we contracted with Mike Brennan Painting to stain three fences and a deck. Initially, he did very good work power washing an old fence and replacing rotten deck boards. During this, he had a large argument with our neighbor but we gave him the benefit of the doubt as we were not involved. When it came time to stain, he was out of town so his employee sprayed all three fences and the deck over a two-day period. It was obvious from the time I arrived home that the job was not consistent. The color was heavy in some areas with other areas receiving no stain at all, and there was stain on our house siding (see attached pictures). While not very happy with the work, we assumed Mike would return and resolve the issues. Instead, we spent the following weeks pointing out issues with the fence and deck; requesting that he review/touch up the entire job. Mike would stop by the house for an hour, only hit the exact spots that we pointed out, then leave expecting the job to be complete. We tried to level set with Mike to no avail. Even while we walked around the yard continually showing the inconsistencies, he would argue that the work was done well, but then proceed to call every spot we pointed out "a miss". When we expressed frustration with the job, he said he would accept a settlement for the work less than the total quoted price. We offered a price that we thought was a fair starting point and he walked away threatening to call his lawyer. At one point he snapped at my wife and told her to stop talking so he could listen to me instead. My wife and I have never felt so disrespected. In the end, he did not fix and complete the work to our satisfaction. We felt uncomfortable enough with how he treated us that we just wanted the whole situation to be over. Instead of taking the time to fix a job poorly done, Mike chose to argue, threaten, and drag his feet until we called the job complete. I would not recommend Mike Brennan Painting for any job and I would hope he would be removed from Just Wooden Fences recommendations going forward.
