As noted in my original review, the work was done well, and I am now satisfied with both the repairs and the resolution. ******** I wish this were a more positive review, but I would not recommend Kirkwood Fence. Our salesperson estimated that our fence repair would take 4-8 hours. He explained that the company subcontracts repair work and books labor in half-day or full-day blocks, at $750 or $1,500 respectively. Based on his estimate of the scope of work, I agreed to a full day of labor. The written estimate sent later that day initially overstated the cost by about $600, which was later corrected and approved. On the day of the repair, the crew arrived on time but had been given incomplete information and brought only half of the required materials. They were able to return to the shop, pick up the remaining parts, and complete the repair by lunchtime. Once work began, the repair itself took just over two hours. Despite this, I was charged for a full day of labor. I tried to discuss my concern with the owner, but was referred back to the salesperson, who indicated that no adjustment was possible. The repair work itself was well done and the installation team was great, but my experience with the company left me feeling I'd been suckered.

We had a fence installed by Just Wooden Fences in the Fall of 2018. We were very happy with the…read morefence and the follow-up service. Now for the bad - Mike Brennan Painting. Based on a recommendation from Just Wooden Fences, we contracted with Mike Brennan Painting to stain three fences and a deck. Initially, he did very good work power washing an old fence and replacing rotten deck boards. During this, he had a large argument with our neighbor but we gave him the benefit of the doubt as we were not involved. When it came time to stain, he was out of town so his employee sprayed all three fences and the deck over a two-day period. It was obvious from the time I arrived home that the job was not consistent. The color was heavy in some areas with other areas receiving no stain at all, and there was stain on our house siding (see attached pictures). While not very happy with the work, we assumed Mike would return and resolve the issues. Instead, we spent the following weeks pointing out issues with the fence and deck; requesting that he review/touch up the entire job. Mike would stop by the house for an hour, only hit the exact spots that we pointed out, then leave expecting the job to be complete. We tried to level set with Mike to no avail. Even while we walked around the yard continually showing the inconsistencies, he would argue that the work was done well, but then proceed to call every spot we pointed out "a miss". When we expressed frustration with the job, he said he would accept a settlement for the work less than the total quoted price. We offered a price that we thought was a fair starting point and he walked away threatening to call his lawyer. At one point he snapped at my wife and told her to stop talking so he could listen to me instead. My wife and I have never felt so disrespected. In the end, he did not fix and complete the work to our satisfaction. We felt uncomfortable enough with how he treated us that we just wanted the whole situation to be over. Instead of taking the time to fix a job poorly done, Mike chose to argue, threaten, and drag his feet until we called the job complete. I would not recommend Mike Brennan Painting for any job and I would hope he would be removed from Just Wooden Fences recommendations going forward.

We ultimately chose Easter over the other contractors because their estimated project timeline was significantly shorter than the others. They DEFINITELY delivered on that shorter timeline! First of all, they showed up on time - for both the initial quote and the start of the project. That alone can be very hard to come by. Most importantly and impressively - they did the entire project in just 2 days! Our yard is fairly large and challenging - the ground is not level and there are a lot of rocks and bricks buried (I have no idea why the rocks are there, but they are and I know that had to have been difficult!).
