The ambiance is great. On this chilly rainy day they had a fire going in their covered outdoor seating area with chairs gathered around it. They were also making fresh brick oven pizzas although we did not have any they looked good. There is a chapel-like building right there that was set up for a wedding that afternoon and it was very cute with black painted corrugated ceiling and stained glass windows. There are also cabins on-site which would probably be good for the wedding party although they didn't look too great and built a little jenky. The tasting room was small and cozy with stone walls and beams all around. There was one person working the tasting room and it was crowded but she was pleasant and efficient and we didn't have to wait too long in between pours. The wine isn't great and they don't grow their own grapes but outsource them from California, New York and other areas. They do have a nice Niagara wine (obviously from NY) and the BlackBerry Merlot was pretty good too. We bought a bottle of each of those but the others were just meh or yuck. (A few even had a vinegar taste to them). But it's a cute winery and I still recommend a visit. There were 5 in our group and after our tasting we each got a glass to enjoy on the covered patio while listening to the music piped into the outdoor speakers (current music from 70s to now but nothing obnoxious). Tasting was super cheap at only $5. It's worth a visit. read more

Wow! Must stop. My mom and I found this winery randomly on a cross country trip. We stoped in to spend the night. It was nothing short of amazing. The wine is outstanding the small town it is in is charming and super friendly. Everyone who works at the winery is super friendly and laid back. We sat by the fire for hours talking to the owners and workers. Truly our favorite spot we have found along the way cross country. This place has been on my bucket list for sometime. We finally made it. It's in the boonies docks. The place is a small plantation. They have a hall for parties and weddings. Another location for something else and then the winery. The owner was very warmful. He showed us around. Mentioned how at first it was just a hobby. The place reminds you something from the midieval times. The wine that I tried was really good. We purchased a few bottles. The Syrah was my favorite. It had a different taste to it. The Vidal was another one of my favs. We will be back again. Worth the 2 hour drive. read more

Really liked this winery. Hidden gem, really good wines, and cute shop with interesting gifts. We make our own wine so it was nice to find this winery with dry wines alongside all the sweet. Tastings are $5 for 5 wines. Lots of free tastings at WV wineries so even that low price was a disappointment and no military discount like most of the others offer. They really need to get on board. Nice ambiance for weddings though and the wine tasting room was really nice. read more

Their vineyard took a hit due to soil trouble so they shop the grape juice in from other vineyards. Interesting history and accommodations for business groups, weddings. He wines are a work in progress, self taught. Good for a rainy day distraction when visiting the Stonewall resort. read more

Lovely family-owned mountain winery. The ambiance and hospitality made me care less about the quality of the wine which was what it was...wine made in West Virginia. Better look up directions before you go because you cannot get reception out there. Immediately impressed by the lovely property and setting, we were greeted by a friendly woman who told we could taste as many wines as we like from the list. Though we avoided the sweet, fruit-flavored wines, we were decently surprised by the Seyval, Pinot Grigio and Sirah. Where it all went wrong was when the owner Jim Lambert opened his big, rude mouth. First he questioned why we didn't want pepperoni with our cheese plate, asking if we'd eat it if it was roadkill. Then he questioned my wife's and my marriage with a hint of homophobia. Lastly, he insulted her Louisiana roots calling her a "coon ass." All this after we bought two bottles of his wine in an effort to kindly support. As a native of north central West Virginia who lives in California, it broke my heart to be treated this way by someone who owns a business where out-of-staters may visit and form opinions of the area based on this buffoon. Folks like Jim Lambert continue to be West Virginia's own worst enemy in turning a positive experience at a local business into a public display of ignorance that makes the entire state look bad. read more

First off let me say this is a beautiful setting for dinner. With that being said, if you advertise a buffet and decide your not going to do it. Then tell people, sorry we are not having the buffet this evening but to say it is a buffet which includes certain things for $15 dollars and then serve you a very skimpy plate of food and still charge the same price.....that is ridiculous. Beautiful place. I mean it's a very picture worthy place. I can see why folks love it here. However, their pizza Wednesdays are a rip off. It's a very small pizza served on a paper plate. You get A plain Jane salad that doesn't have homemade dressing. A pizza with the basics and nothing special. Oh and a bottle of wine. Pizza is much better at Giovannis, and that's not saying much because I think Giovannis it's ridiculous in pricing, but that's another review. I was not impressed. read more

A true diamond in the rough! My husband and I were staying nearby at Stonewall Resort and decided to venture out to a local winery. Tucked away, this family owned winery has expanded over the years due to their success and great tasting wines. They offer about a dozen different wines (we came home with six). J.B. proudly gave us the history of the place which now includes a separate, beautiful banquet hall, a cute "couple cabin" that can be rented and overlooks the winery, a wine cellar that is built into the hillside and much more. We had a personalized tour and a quick lesson of his fermentation and bottling process. They also sell pottery (which is made by his mom), and other merchandise. The whole establishment had a quaint, homey feel to it and we look forward to our next visit. read more

I love the atmosphere of this winery. It's so beautiful and peaceful. Sitting outside by the large stone fireplace in cool weather is a must. It's one of the few wineries in our area that offers free wine tasting. Pizza night on Wednesday night with a DJ is so much fun! We had a wonderful experience at the winery. Immediately, we received great wines to taste. I think we must have tasted them all. We walked away with a case of fantastic wines. They also had some salsa for sale, which we purchased. The complex layers of flavor and heat really impressed us. We came to Weston to visit the asylum and this was by far my favorite tourist attraction while visiting. The scenery and landscaping were beautiful as well. read more

Family owned incredibly run business. Fabulous wine, beautiful pottery and engaging conversation. We were greeted the second we arrived and were welcomes like we were family. Enjoyed wine tasting and shopping in an exquisite surrounding. The patriarch of this amazing family sat with us by the fire in rocking chairs talking and sharing all the details of his life's passion. Later his amazing son gave us a personal tour of their immaculate property, including a full service wedding venue, beautifully landscaped Vinyard and honeymoon log cabin. Makes me wish I was planning my wedding all over again. I will definitely encourage my daughter to get married there. Plan a visit and enjoy brick oven pizza and delicious wine on a Wednesday evening and find out what a treasure this vineyard truly is. Can't wait to go back! read more

Horrible customer service. If I could give less than a star I would. I tried to work with the owners son for weeks to reserve a tent rental for my wedding. Although he had great customer service in the beginning, it quickly turned horrible once pen had to be put to paper. I asked for an invoice/ any contracts that we would have to sign so we could review them. He said "we are more of a handshake company" ok... but when thousands of dollars are involved I kind of need to see some writing. They are way in over their head trying to run 3 businesses. I called multiple times throughout the days, emailed, basically did all I could to pay this man thousands of dollars to reserve a tent and he kept blowing me off with excuses ex: We had to let our secretary go, I am working on my taxes, we have a big group of wine tasters in right now, internet was out etc. etc. It really is a laugh. Here I am trying to throw you money and you can't even so much as send me an invoice?! When I finally called to tell him we had to make a decision today and can I have his word that he will take 5 minutes out of his day to send me an email with the updated pricing... and he said "You know what I am not really interested in working with you, you need to find another tent company" Which is honestly probably the best thing... if you can't even send an email on time then you probably would not have been able to construct a tent on time. Tread lightly with this company they obviously aren't professional. read more
