When we realized we were in the area of Lamme's Candies I convinced my fiance to go. Though really it didn't take much convincing. Just a quick "hey this are looks familiar, aren't we near Lammes? You want to go?". And his response as a quick "Hell Yea!". We'd seen Lammes candies on one of our first days in Austin, but didn't stop in b/c we were in a hurry. We are never near this area of town, but took the opportunity today to check it out. It was a great little candy shop, but honestly I was a little disappointed. The chocolate was good- but nothing outstanding. We each had two pieces (me- a Hawaiian sea salt chocolate caramel and a long horn- which is like a Turtle. He has a Krispy Klaw and some sort of plain pecan with chocolate thing). It tasted good- but nothing over the top amazing and I though for 4 small pieces of candy it was a bit pricy ($3). Best candy in town. We used them as wedding favors for our February 24th wedding. They had to go from working day and night to prepare Valentine's Day packages, to baking our candies. But they did it all, got it done promptly, and were a HUGE hit with our guests!!! We did a His & Hers favor - chocolate turtle for Hers, pecan praline for His. Guests were asking to have multiple. I love the quality candies at Lamme's, and usually visit the Airport Road location for Christmas gifts, because boxes are pre-wrapped. This year, I had an experience similar to Julie G. Many shoppers were waiting, but several of us gave up and left because the two clerks were spending all their time waiting on customers needing special service while those hoping to make a speedy purchase of "grab-and-go" items were left holding our stacks of boxes for at least 20 minutes. Great products, but store needs to hire extra help for holidays or revise service policies. read more

I decided to get holiday gifts for my co-workers at Lamme's this year. This is such a sweet little shop (no pun intended)! The selections are lots of fun. I noted there were plenty of old favorites like chocolate covered pralines, and some newer candies like dark chocolate with caramel and sea salt. There was definitely something for everyone, and the shopping trip was ten times more fun than any mall experience I've had to endure. I am looking forward to some delicious chocolate covered strawberries this Valentine's day! read more

IT has been a Christmas Tradition to get a box of Pecan chocolate boxes Lamme's candy box - cannot recall the name right now ; however they look like Turtles. Delicious treats that our family has been receiving for years my husbands' Grandma every single year. She passed away last year on 12.28.10. Being from Houston, this place caught my eye since the parking lot was packed. The small store front was crowded. I didnt realize it was the day before Valentines Day! They had everyone form a line and once they asked what I was looking for, I let them know I was from out of town. Then, they made me feel special. Despite how busy they were, the hostess took the time to give me a quick tour of their store and their candy showcase. Awesome customer service!!!! I was looking for a variety of candy for all the members of my family and they helped me fulfill that. The candy was VERY good. The chocolate almonds were awesome, the pralines were delicious and the candy fruit was great. The peanut butter cups had the chocolate a little too thick but not too rich. Was on a trip to go thru the caverns in Va. and had stopped in W. Va. to see a classmate from years ago. He took to a local store and I found your divinty and as soon as I opened it and tasted it I went back to my Western Pa. home and Mom and Grandma made home made divinty and what I had bought was so close in taste that they could have made it. I use to come every day to this Lammes Candies for a whole year or so. I recently and unfortunately moved further away from Lammes, so I am not able to go everyday anymore. I would if I could though. Every candy I have had there has been AMAZING! The customer service is the best, and they always remember me to keep me up to date on when things I like were going to be coming. They also gave out yummy samples pretty often, and well let you sample one of their yummy treats upon request. They are a tad bit pricey..It all adds up quick, but it's worth every penny, I promise. If you have never been to Lammes, I recommend you go and try their dark chocolate longhorn and the chewy pecan praline. They also have lots of tasty treats for the kids at a good price, unless it's a holiday season because they have their special edition candies that are more pricey. Don't forget to pick up one of their chocolate strawberry shirts to knock off a dollar every time you buy the chocolate covered strawberries, but most of all, DONT FORGER TO TRY THIER DARK CHOCOLATE COVERED GRAPES. If you are shopping for or even know of a diabetic get them a treat here. Chocolate covered cherries- sugar free, and all kinds of wonderful chocolates. Pricey but when you consider we never get to eat these its worth it especially at Christmas. read more

Your product is excellent. I have been enjoying the Texas Chewie for over 25 years and recommending to friends just as long. I know your company prides itself on the excellent assortment of candies however I have a concern that has not received response from you on more then one occassin. Just the other day I went to purchase a box of Texas chewies and once again I see you only provide a code on your box which is certaintly not for the consumer. Question: Why do you not like a majority provide a self date or best by date? Is this deliberate?. I would like to think it is not a tactic. As a consumer this brings up concern. If your product is exceptional which I think it is, just put out all the information for the consumer and make it a easier purchase. I look for the freshest product on all my food purchases. Without such information it makes it difficulty because for myself I usually boycott products without the above mentioned information. Whatever the reason stop. Put the information out there for the consumer after all your product is excellent. read more

My company recently ordered several boxes of Lammes Candies to send to our clients for the Holidays. Lammes has a "mail order" group that will directly ship your orders to whichever addresses you provide. I have always enjoyed their candies and pressed my office to use them. We were very excited to receive our box of candies but were disappointed when our name was mistakenly left off of the greeting card (i.e. our clients didn't know who the gift came from, except maybe Lammes Candies themselves). Immediately I called to double check that the candies were sent out sans signature. Lammes were very apologetic and sent out an apology letter to our clients. When asked if there were any breaks or discounts we could receive on our order they turned defensive and attempted to blame the entire situation on me, saying that I did not clearly display the signature of our company. To say that I was upset is definitely an understatement. I went and reviewed our order and listed at the bottom of our message is our signature (I'm not sure how I could have been more clear in my description). Obviously mistakes are made, especially in the holiday season, and all that was needed was an, "I'm sorry but we cannot give you a discount". Instead, I was blamed for the mistake. I have been taught that the customer is always right, Lammes Candies obviously believes differently. Sadly, I will no longer be doing any business with Lammes Candies (personally and professionally), I can't risk sending gifts to clients that have no signature included. I write this as a forewarning to any corporate companies that might be looking into using Lammes Candies. read more
