All boards were stained on all sides prior to construction and protective tape was applied to the substructure so that there was no wood to wood contact. This wasn't a typical just hang a new door and leave. The interior drywall had been compromised, it was a custom built door due to its size. There was supply chain issues everyone was dealing with. We had to carefully plan for different scenarios and prepare repairs if needed prior to removing the old door. Thankfully the dry rot was confined to the door frame itself and not the frame structure of the house. I needed multi skilled labor just in case. I got that and then some. The door is hung beautifully, the interior trim looks terrific, the exploratory drywall demolition was repaired flawlessly.... I could not recommend more highly McEwin for difficult repair work. Extremely happy and they are on the top of my list for any future, hopefully less stressful, home improvement projects

I noticed the bid was based on 3 areas not the 4 we surveyed. ( two other contractors concurred on dry rot areas). I asked for a new bid plus cost of possibly replacing some gutters. The bid came back with another $5000 on top of original bid. Btw. The gutter replacement was not the expense. I asked for photos of the area left out of original bid and it was a corner that did not have dry rot. But I was told if it's a corner it costs more then twice of other areas. First one of the dry rot areas in original quote was a corner. This time they thought they could double the price. Funny thing. The company rep took a photo of an area that's not even dry rot Sort of bait and switch. Not ethical. I did not use them because based on this experience their work may have been shoddy. Stay away
