Five Stars is not Enough - Six Star Rating! I see that they have a number of 5 star ratings. Let me add mine. One of my great dreams has been to have a local, totally reliable service and repair station that I KNOW is giving me the very best service at a reasonable price. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO DO THAT! I found out because my wife used their services, on the recommendation of one of their customers. Yesterday I went in with an issue. They put my car up on the lift and showed me in detail what the problem was. My car is wonderful and runs beautifully but has some mileage on it. It looked like they may have to replace some major parts of the underbody - and my brain was calculating what the high cost might be. They called me back in the afternoon - and they were able to do some very creative, solid effective "workarounds" which prevented me having to pay for those parts. the bill was approximately 1/4 of what I was thinking. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Yesterday I got a flat tire while near my apartment in downtown Hartford. I parked my car in my underground garage while I waited for Lamore's service to come out and help change my tire. Before they came out I told them that I will have to be towed because my spare tire was flat too. Once the tow truck arrived at my apartment he noticed that my car was in the underground garage and that's when everything went down hill. The clearance of my underground garage is 12 1/2 feet. After 10 minutes of convincing him that his truck would fit. He pulled his truck into my underground garage. The truck fit into my garage with no problems. After he got into the garage the driver of the tow truck started giving me thousands of excuses about how his truck still wouldn't fit (after he got it in) and his tools couldn't leave his truck it was clear at this point It felt like I was trying to convince a toddler to eat there vegetables. Half way through our conversation about how we (I) was going to get the car out of my parking spot and down a ramp. He didn't like this idea and told me to drive it out of my garage and he would meet me down the street. I said I'll damage my rim since my tires aren't full of air. This is when He told me "I don't want to change your fucking tire this is bullshit. I don't want to do this" then got back into truck and just left completely. my alternator went out on a Sunday night. I called Lamores Monday morning and asked if they could replace my alternator that day. every other place I called gave me an estimated time of three to four days. Lamores not only towed my car to the shop for only $30.00 they replaced my alternator within one day. The vehicle is a 2007 Honda fit. small engine space and difficult to replace. $400.00 and some change. Well worth it because I know what it takes to replace the alternator. Or I would have done it myself. Today I went there again for four new tires. cheaper than other places, and I'm saying cheaper than brand name tire shops. I won't mention the names. So completely impressed with these guys. I've worked in the automotive industry for over twenty years. These guys truly impressed me. Best garage in town, the lot might always be packed, but don't let that deter you. They are just that busy, and for a good reason. I've been taking my car to Jimmy and Mike for over 10 years and they always been straight and given me a fair price. They are car gurus. If your wheels are making a odd whirling sound when you break or you hear some knock under the hood they will take the car for a ride, hear the problem and have it fixed in a day or two. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. My mom dropped her car off to get fixed and they left the keys in the unlocked car overnight and it was stolen off the lot!!! Lamore's didn't even notice the car was missing until the police found it around noon the following day and called them. How do you not realize an entire car on your tiny lot is missing?! These guys are the best. Our car broke down on I-84 W on Memorial Day. Their tow truck got to us fast, the driver was incredibly nice and helped us figure out a low-cost hotel to stay at for the night. He brought our car to the shop and the next morning, they had it fixed by 10 am and we were back on the road. They are honest, they do great work, they don't overcharge, and they are super nice. If I lived in the area, this would be my shop. read more

I had them tow my daughter's car from a busy highway late one night and told them what repair shop to bring it to. (this was covered by insurance) I drove my daughter to the birthday party in my car. I called the repair shop the next day and her car wasn't there! I called Lamore's and they couldn't tell me where the car was and didn't want to wake the tow truck driver to ask him because he worked third shift! I was continually put on hold and never called back as promised. Finally the repair shop called me and said they spotted it down the street at a random auto body shop with the keys in the drop box. The business was closed on Saturday. Now we have to somehow get the car to the correct shop and we wasted a Saturday when it could have been fixed for Monday. Bottom line: they don't care. read more

I've been to Lamores a couple of times because of the convenience and the price is not horrible but my last experience will never have me going there again. My car has spent 19 days there this past month. 19 DAYS! They gave it back to me 12 days in with the check engine light still on! They weren't even going to tell me. I saw it and they told me they just needed to reset it. After I was done with my errand my check engine light was on again. So they charged me a good sum of money and the problem wasn't even fixed! So I brought it back where it spent another 7 days. After calling them repeatedly the owner finally tells us he didn't realize that it had been brought back! He saw the car and thought it was the same problem! They apparently didn't really even bother to look at it for 7 days. Lamores has forever lost my business. read more
