Do not take your lamp for repair here! The turn on switch was broken on my lamp and the original assembly was all white. It was repaired in black, was not secured properly and the incorrect part was screwed on top and the shade sat too low. I was informed that it had to be black and the shade was sitting properly! This all cost me $58 plus tax! Subsequently I looked on Amazon, got the correct parts in WHITE, a two pack for $8. A friend redid the lamp and it now looks exactly as it did before the needed repair. I will never darken the door of this business again! read more

I took my wife's antique Mosaic Shade Company lamp to the store for repair of the shade to lamp attachment. The guy bragged that he repairs lamps for antique dealers. He said that he'd add a harp, lampshade fitting and replace the bulb sock and power cord. He did not say how he'd add the lampshade fitting but said that he'd do his magic. He attached the lampshade fitting with a blob of gray epoxy paste. This is an attachment method that is not appropriate for an antique lamp. It's a method that an amateur would use. He's not the craftsman he pretends to be. Now, I'm going to spend way more money to try and remove the blob of gray epoxy paste. He may have ruined the 100 year old lamp shade if the epoxy can't be removed. read more

Went in and they have a large collection of shades and lights. Found a lovely crystal light fixture for a reasonable price. One of the owners showed me how to take a piece off and clean it and gave me bulbs for the light too. It looks wonderful up and I'm so pleased with it. Great experience! read more

I recently brought in my expensive crystal chandelier to Zack. It was broken and he quickly fixed it right up. I asked him to clean it and it looked cleaner than when i bought it brand new. Positively the WORST customer experience I have ever had. Bought a set of FULL PRICE lamp shades. Brought them home and 8 days later decided they were not what I wanted in the room. The owner of this shop says ALL SALES FINAL, no return allowed. Then when we asked for a store credit and he says you have 2 days to return for store credit. Your sale is final. That will be the last time we spend a dime in this store. Do yourself a favor and support local business' that have a more flexible and honorable return policy that care about their customers. I had to have my beautiful and expensive chandelier repaired for weeks now, but due to Covid 19 I couldn't find time to search for a proper repair guy. I stumbled upon Lamp & Shade City in the yellow pages and saw how many great review it has. I went there and saw that the owner kept a good social distance and wore a mask for his customers safety. He told me my chandelier ( and one of my floor lamps I brought in later) could be even repaired as I wait! I had time on my hands anyways but I barely waited at all! He did an amazing job and even referred an installer for my chandelier! I'm so happy with this service and will be coming again for more repair in the future. read more

Never again!! My husband purchased lamp harps (the metal oval that the shade screws onto) for two of our lamps. When he came home, I was horrified to see that he paid $35.55 for these two small run-of-the-mill shape and size harps!! So we went to HD and bought the same harps for a fraction of the price, and he took the ridiculously expensive harps back to Lamp and Shade City, only to find out that they do not take returns and ALL SALES ARE FINAL so he got a store credit. Two years later I have had no need or desire to go back to this store but still have the "store credit" in my wallet as a constant reminder of how we overpaid. So, we have nothing to show for our $35.55 mistake except the knowledge that this is a business we would NEVER use again. Taking my lamps here was a terrible decision! I wish I had the option of zero stars because they don't deserve even one. First, he WAY overcharged me, which I should have been my firstl clue. The pull cord he replaced mine with was so flimsy and cheap. I asked for my pull cords back but he wouldn't let me have them. When I got home, these lamps started shorting out light bulbs (4 bulbs in 24 hours). I went back to get my refund or at last a repair with better parts, and he refused to give me my money back. Now I have to take the lamps somewhere else because I'm afraid they are a fire hazard. read more

Horrible Service. Do NOT go there. I had a lamp that was broken so we went to Lamp Shade City Lighting to get it fixed. The lamp stem had cracked. That repair took a couple of weeks. We picked it the lamp when repaired. After a couple of days, the lamp started to tilt. The repair was done with PUTTY. So we took it back. He repaired the lamp .....we bring it home, just to discover the cord had been cut and the plug cut off. There was no way to plug it in. Why did this happen. Who knows? What did one thing have to do with another? Who knows? This is a crazy outfit. Do not waste your time. Now we have to find another place to fix the plug that is no longer attached. read more

I'm only giving this place 1 star because I HAVE to. They DO NOT deserve any stars... I took a very expensive chandelier into Lamp & Shade City Lighting for repair. The price estimate was determined based on their very own appraisal. The repair was very poor--jimmy-rigged, at best. They half-hazzardly put a fresh coat of paint on the chandelier and attempted to pass it off as repaired. The crystals were not replaced with those of same size and quality, and the damaged candle covers were not replaced with new ones. A five-year old could have done an equivalent job. However, the owner insisted that his work warranted a $500 price tag. Needless to say, I CAN NOT do anything with the chandelier. I CAN NOT put it back into my multi-million dollar home. The chandelier is, now, TRASH. Instead of convincing me that he could save it, he should have acknowledged his incapacity to repair the chandelier from the start. To add insult to injury, the owner was very defensive and combative with me--a woman, and did not offer to make the situation "right." TERRIBLE customer service. The entire ordeal was a waste of time! A waste of money! A waste of energy! A waste of gas! A TOTAL WASTE!!! I will never get a chandelier repaired here, again. I will never purchase a chandelier from here, EVER. And, I will NEVER refer this place to any of my friends or neighbors. read more
