No reservation made in advance or required at that time of day. Inside was cool with rustic wooden decor and furnishings. Menu contained many of the classic Austrian dishes that we were looking to fill up our stomachs. Portions looked big but it was also nice to find some options that came in smaller plates so we could make sure that we left enough room for one of their desserts. We took a little longer to nail down our meal and we ended up getting some very basic dishes: The small plate of Austrian meatballs were quite tasty with a savory sauce and creamy mashed potatoes. The veal schnitzel was huge and took up more than 3/4 of the plate with a few boiled potatoes. Nice crunch on the outside and juicy veal on the inside but the potatoes were a bit plain. The crowning end to our meal was one of the city's famous desserts, the Salzburg Nockerl. We actually switched from the apple strudel at the last minute so we had to wait a little extra time before the nockerl was served. It's not an easy dessert to make though its main ingredients were eggs, sugar and a little flour. The 3 browned peaks were impressive when served. The raspberry sauce on the bottom provided a sweet add. It was very close to a soufflé with a very airy like texture that melted in the mouth. Well worth the 24.9 Euros charged and the most expensive dessert of our trip. We had great service from the staff and easily accommodate our change our minds on the dessert. We closed our tab at the table and would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting some good food options.

We went with the local favorites The Goulosh plater with dumplings and a Bratwurst to share each. Although I never drink beer, I opted to try thier local brew. Our server Simone was very nice and gave us some of her local suggestions. The Fiod was very tasty! The Goulosh was the right amount for lunch and a huge dumpling ball to go with it. the Bratwurst was good but no bread with it. more of a meal with potatos. All the service was great in this old world 162 year old establishment.

Honestly, form outside did not seemed too much but because I send some of my clients over there to have dinner I thought that I should try it myself as well.... :D And boy, what a great place! I have many dining, many places, but this one we still talk about after few days! They have an open kitchen actually you can see what is going on there. The waiters were (there were a lady and a young boy there, can't remember their names.... sorry) super attentive. The chef gave a taste of a small mustard portion that he just created right there on the spot until we were waiting for the main course. And the main course....! Heavenly! Really! I am not easily impressed but this Norwegian fish that I ordered (I am not even a big fish eater...) was the highlight of my day! :) I will be back! That is for sure! Don't know when but will be back! :) If you are in Linz, do not miss this great place!

We ordered a couple of appetizers to share. One that stood out was their trio dip and I particularly liked the pork belly crackling dip that was served with sourdough bread. It definitely is not the most healthy as it was greasy, but super flavorful with great texture from the cracklings. Another one I enjoyed was their Regensburger Wurstsalat. The sausages were thinly sliced paired with a crispy, tangy vinaigrette which was refreshing especially in a hot summer day. The scallions and red onions added another level of flavor and texture. For main, I ordered their braised pork belly and was pleasantly surprised. Th meat was tender, skin was still crispy and the sauce was hearty yet not too salty. My kids tried their schnitzel and they enjoyed it. However, my husband ordered one of their beef dish and I was told it was dry and salty. I honestly would recommended to just stick with pork when in Germany/Austria and stay away from beef because ever beef dishes we've tried were not good. Overall, this is your typical Biergarten with plenty of outdoor seating and tv's available to watch any sports. Our servers were all very friendly and relatively quick Austrian standard. The only thing is some tv's streamed ahead of others so the people who's watching the slower tv were a little upset as they would've heard the reaction of others before they can see the actions.

The schnitzel was almost perfect, the chicken was well cooked, and we had a great salad as well. The bottle of local wine was also excellent. Our server was fast and efficient if a little thin on interaction. He was also very busy, so that's likely a part of it. The interior is nice, although we only saw a bit of it. The beer is brewed onsite, I'd love to see that, but alas, no. Five stars is what it deserved as everything was really really good!

The whole property is absolutely beautiful, the buildings are down to earth farm houses but with a modern, stylish but still homey touch. So going there all the way from Salzburg city is already worth it just because of the scenery! But we were here for food so...as my main I had duck breast with cabbage and pearl barley. The duck's skin was crispy and the meat was cooked to perfection, the cabbage still had a crunch to it and was well seasoned and the barley was creamy and flavorful. Their wine selection is great as well and consists of Austrian wines only, which fits the whole concept behind the restaurant. They use mostly locally sourced products of high quality, especially when it comes to meats and fish, it's definitely quality over quantity here! For dessert I went for the apricot dumpling with lavender ice cream. My whole life I have never been a big fan of apricot dumplings but I ordered them because I felt like it and let me tell you it was the right decision. I have never had apricot dumplings this good. in. my. life. (and I grew up with that dish) The dough was exceptionally fluffy and soft, the apricots juicy and sweet and the lavender ice cream with its spice balanced out the sweetness of the apricots. Together with the crunchy breadcrumbs it was heavennn! Service was super fast, really friendly and knowledgeable All in all: excellent food, absolutely beautiful scenery and property, great service and great food ethics, local and seasonal!
