This place has went down hill and now they don't even do half orders for single people. Not sure if they have been bought out or whats going on but the facility also looks like a storage bin for half the restaurant with products out in the open. Lams Garden is a hidden gem in Ste. Genevieve. I'm almost certain my friends and I have kept that place open and put their kids through college . Ambiance is super relaxed and you're never rushed. You sit down, they take your order and the food comes out. Doesn't get much easier. The food is great, it isn't 5 star but I always enjoy going there. I would say some dishes are better than others. The Mongolian beef is one of my favorite dishes there, and in all fairness the crab Rangoon are great. The service is excellent. You couldn't ask for better owners and they're always friendly. This is one of, if not my favorite places to eat in Ste. Genevieve. read more

Sesame chicken tasted reheated from at least a day before. Dry, chewy, totally inedible. Couldn't eat my entree / shared my partners. Super disappointed because I rarely order out and after a long day of moving/cleaning - was really needing a good meal. This epically failed. Chicken lo mein - the only dish that tasted like it was made today. Egg rolls/wontons - Could definitely taste oil on the egg rolls. Doughy and couldn't finish any of it. Shame. Shame. Shame. This town deserves better than reheated Sysco mediocre trough slop. Not worth the $35. Reminds me of the "buck o scoop" across the street from college circa 2006. First things first- I've had a lot of better tasting Chinese food but I've never had better customer service at a Chinese food place. Linda went above and beyond to express her appreciation for our business and to accommodate our large family- definitely made us feel welcomed with young kids! Can't say enough good about Linda. The place itself is a bit cluttered, with boxes stored in the dining area but our seating area did not feel crowded while we were there for an afternoon lunch. The food itself was very average. The beef in the beef w/ broccoli was not a very good quality and the chicken in the sweet & sour chicken was dry and unappetizing. The egg rolls and Crab Rangoon were decent. A+ service: it felt to us like how regulars might feel welcomed. C- for overall food flavor and quality in the dishes we ordered and at a higher than expected cost for the product. read more

April 25 2025 Start with the staff, friendly and prompt. That's the good part. The FOOD is a different story. It was a ZERO rating. My friend and I got the same thing, Cashew Chicken. I have never seen Cashew chicken with thick gravy topping overcooked dry chicken with some cashews, but no veggies, next to mushy old fried rice with two crab rangoon, that I had a hard time bitting through the dough covering. Very tasty and not skimpy at all with servings! I got Mongolian beef, egg roll & crab rangoon which was delicious, hot & fresh. My hubby got a St Paul's special sandwich & special fried rice. He loved it. We just moved into town from North Carolina, our furniture & belongings hadn't arrived yet, nothing to cook with & Lam's was highly recommended so we tried them! We liked it so much that we ordered & had it delivered twice in a week! The guy who took my phone order was very nice & helpful, just like the delivery person. We will be regular customers. My review is quite tainted, why because I have come here so many times and so long and usually get the same thing, an order of small shrimp fried rice with extra egg. Always perfectly done to perfection, why get anything else, it's so darn good, plus I add hot mustard, learned that from In So when she had the best Korean Restaurant in town! Lam's was the first Chinese restaurant I ever knew as a kid. Linda and Pearl are like family, they even came to my grandma's funeral and we only knew them through the restaurant. So I still go there in part because of that connection, but also because their food is delicious. Their fried rice is tasty and fresh and not overly salty like some places make it. I love their hot and sour soup. I've lost track of the various entrees that I've tried, but I've never had a bad one. Their egg rolls are also solid. The best part is that the food has been good for what, about 40 years at this point? The staff all work hard and you will see them hustling to get orders out as fast as they come in. The restaurant isn't fancy, but you'll be comfortable, you'll get your food quickly, and you'll be full. So disappointed, I used to love this place a few years back. We got some crab rangoon, plain fried rice with bean sprouts added, and some teriyaki chicken. The fried rice smelled like old fish and tasted like it smelled, and the chicken was super fatty and barely any meat. The crab rangoon were hard and stale.
