We are so excited to see this place is back open! We had to stop in and order! The food is still delicious as before! The chicken in the chicken fried rice is so tender. The beef in the beef szechaun is also tender and the sauce is flavorful. Some places have watered down sauces but not here! Everything we got was perfect. We called our order in for pick up. The woman on the phone was so sweet and kind. I was using an old menu so some things had changed but she was so kind. We were greeted with a smile when we walked in. Located in a small strip mall off 55/ Butler Hill road that is just labeled CHINESE FOOD on the neon sign, New Lucky China was such a great find for me! Definitely the best Hunan Beef I have had in STL: smoky, thin, tender beef, perfectly seasoned light brown sauce, crisp broccoli carrots bamboo shoots and fresh mushrooms. Not over salty, greasy or thick sauce! Yay!!! Absolutely delicious! The egg rolls and crab Rangoon were also divine and tasted handmade: light and crisp, and filled with flavorful ingredients. So much better quality and fresher than most!! The many Asian families eating in and picking up food when I visited must already know this! read more

Been eating here since it opened in the 90's and the new ownership is bringing this place back to life!! Food is delicious, served hot, fast, and not over priced!! Egg rolls are crispy and flavorful, crab Rangoon is FULL of the good stuff. Chicken and Broccoli (made spicy) was DIVINE, and Double Sautéed Pork was perfection. Tons of food at a great price. Nothing like having other Chinese food to put things in perspective. I had sweet and sour chicken at another place and it was so fried and not loosely breaded like it was here, that made me appreciate Lucky's Sweet and Sour chicken much more. The chicken is in real chunks rather then tortured pieces. The Sweet and Sour chicken doesn't have that crazy red sauce that all the other places have.. it is an orange sauce that is very good. read more

I'm really picky with Chinese Food. This is the BEST Chinese food I've ever had. The beef with mixed vegetables is heavenly every single time I order it. The crab Rangoon tastes high quality and isn't too tangy or too sweet, they're just perfect. Customer service has been great, they're very nice when you come pick up your food. :) I drive 35 minutes just to get this Chinese food. Even reheated it's perfect. read more

Dropped my wallet at Lucky China. Went back immediately and they had closed five minutes early. Called the next morning asking about my wallet and to check the cameras. Next guy I talk to says "what was wrong with your order". It would be very odd if the first guy didn't mention my wallet when he told the other guy to call me. They wouldn't even check the cameras. Possibly was a language barrier, but I think these clowns made off with my wallet with quite a bit of money in it. I really hate to give them just two stars since everyone there was super nice but the food was so flavorless and bland I felt like going back and asking them if they ran out of salt. The food was very inexpensive, I ordered Kung Pao Chicken which came with an egg roll and fried rice and a hot & sour soup. I only paid $7.50 for the entire meal. As always I started my meal with the soup which I felt was watered down or something. There was hardly any flavor in it, just some egg whites and pieces of pork. I got food delivered from here for dinner tonight. While eating my fried rice, I bit down on a staple. Thank God I didn't swallow it! I called them and asked for a manager, but the boss doesn't speak English. The person I spoke to said they would give me a free order of crab Rangoon next time I order. I won't be ordering again. They have a coupon on their menu for a free order of crab Rangoon when you spend 20.00. So I get that every time anyway. Grrrr read more

This is the best takeout Chinese food in South County. I used to go to a place off Telegraph until I tried this place for their tofu. The management and employees are so nice and generous. I order through Grubhub and only one time I had an order wrong. As soon as I called the store, they made a correct entree free, gave me bonus sides, and wanted to deliver it to me. Their portions are huge. Their tofu is delicious and they're one of the only places I've seen have tofu on their menu. If it's out of your delivery distance, I think it's definitely worth a drive. read more

This used to be my 'go-to' Chinese restaurant when I still lived in SoCo. The food, from what I remember used to be terrific. I ate here so often they knew my order by just the sound of my voice when I would call in. The reason I am only giving 3 stars is because this past Sunday I was visiting my mother who still lives in SoCo and I had the biggest hankering for my old favorite Chinese food. Hours on yelp and everywhere else they were listed stated they were open on Sunday's. I called at 11:30, 12 and 12:30. The phone just kept on ringing. It would have been fine if it had been stated that they are Closed on Sunday's, but I kept calling in hopes that maybe they opened late that day or someone was just unable to answer the phone. I have lived in South County my entire life and I can remember seeing this place when I used to hang out at the pool hall there. I wish I knew how great of a place this was a long time ago but was always a die hard of the Orient when they were around, than Lemay Wok, but now I think I found my place.
