She was very patient with us as we were trailing two kids and trying to look at art at the same time, needed to learn about the art buying process and were on a budget. She walked us through the different pieces and also how they were priced, reprints vs originals, the artist's thought process, etc. Even distracted our 6 year old giving us a chance to look through the various paintings. We loved Daryl's style and the different directions he was exploring with landscapes on one side and more modern art on the other. We didn't end up buying on our first visit to the gallery, but the work and her helpfulness stuck with us and we returned the next day to buy a piece. She negotiated a great price with us including shipping, and we're now the proud owners of a Daryl Millard! She's been very communicative during the shipping process as well, emailing us when the painting shipped, and tracking its delivery and emailing us when we missed the FedEx person. Overall, a great painting, and a wonderful purchase experience!

The new location is near the old Safeway, in a new building. This gallery is beautiful and filled with masterpieces. One could spend the good part of a day enjoying the art and, if you're lucky, talking story with Lynn Shue. We visited in February, during the Paint Maui Plein Air event. We had a blast. Lynn, several artists, and follow art lovers all gathered for the event. So much Aloha. It's easy to have your acquisitions shipped to your house (we have had several pieces shipped to the mainland, by Lynn, over the years). Village Galleries is a delightful place to visit and enjoy art. I highly recommend.

Over the years we have purchased paintings, glass sculptures and jewelry from Lynn at the gallery. In May of 2023 I visited the gallery with my friend Renee, who lives in Lahaina, and she admired the work of Tracy Dudley. In August of 2023 we were devastated to hear of the fire in Lahaina, and we knew that the gallery was lost along with all of the art. Fast forward to 2026 and Renee is getting married to James and I reached out to Tracey and Lynn to see if there was any art by Tracy that I could give them as a wedding gift. Sure enough there was, and I was so excited to give them two beautiful, framed prints with Tracy's and Lynn's help. As a fun note, when James saw the prints he commented, "hey, isn't this the artist whose postcard has been on the refrigerator for years?" Indeed.
