I have mixed feelings about friendship school in Ewa Beach. My kids went there years ago. The good…read morethings I remember are good, but the bad things i remember are ugly. These are some of the things that i will never forget, but i have forgiven and moved on from Frist I would say that the principal called me into her office and lectured me about a conversation over payment that i had with her spoiled staff. She was extremely rude and would not hear myside of the argument. I am not a student but a grown man. Be respectful. There also was a time that it was raining. I was with my son who had autism and as we were walking inside the school building, me and my son fell hard to the ground due to a wet area. There was no wet floor signs. I was bleeding so was my son, just a little. We were both ok overall. But i remember no one helped us. People saw it and no one said a word. I was a few steps from the front office and i heard someone tell the front desk staff about the incident, yet no one from the staff made any effort to check on us. There office was literally steps away. As we got up and finished walking my daughter to class, i saw someone put up the wet floor sign. I really felt like an outcast that day but it gets worse. At their graduation ceremonies, you will really feel like an outcast if either you don't attend their church or not Hawaiian. I remember laud applauses for most of the local kids at the gradation, but my kids turn came, all the other parents where silent. This happened year after year. By the third year, I'm screaming at the top of my lungs. How can you treat my kids this way? Don't you know things like this stick in their heads for year and years There was an older coaches worked there. He send letters to my daughters and i guess, most the students who were on summer break. I always felt a little uncomfortable having letters go to my 10-year-old. Something just felt off. I mean a least announce that you will be sending out stay well letters to all the kids in the summer. I did not give her any of the letters My other daughter was struggling in 1st grade in all subjects. I met with the teacher and she told me that there is one child who is exceling and doing well who sits close to me daughter. She ask me if I wanted that child to help my daughter during school hour in class. i asked her why would she consider a young kid teaching another kid? I thought that was the teachers job? Fastforward my daughter now is at the top of her class in another school. In my opinion, only certain students are going to receive the "attention" they need to keep up with the class, let alone excel. Everything I'm saying is the truth I forgive you......but I'm glad we moved on for my kids' sake.

I went to this school and it was great. I learned a lot of bible verse. they taught me about a lot…read more plus they use books so, yes they might be a little heavy but there better than starring at a screen all day right. if you are Christian this is the school for you

Our child attended…read morefor two years and was provided with exceptional care and compassion, patience, and everything you could ask for in a preschool. Every teacher there felt like they were born to be a pre-school teacher! We feel incredibly grateful to have found Ewa Plains Enrichment in Ewa Beach for our son. From the very beginning, it felt personal. We were not just enrolling in a school but becoming part of a warm, loving community that felt like family. Miss Jessica and the entire team of teachers are everything you would hope for in a preschool. They are warm, kind, intelligent, and fully engaged with the children. Their sincerity and care were evident every single day. It was almost tangible how much they truly loved each child, including ours. The mission of Ewa Plains Enrichment feels centered in love. Every lesson, classroom moment, and interaction reflects that. Our son not only learned how to read here, but something lit up inside him. It was as if a light switched on, and now he reads his own bedtime stories with joy and confidence. This milestone was nurtured by the school's incredible literacy program and the encouragement of his teachers. The school's focus on literacy is truly outstanding. The dedication and joy the teachers bring to reading is something our family will never forget. We also deeply appreciated the school's commitment to Hawaiian culture. Field trips to the lo'i, the pumpkin patch, and the library helped connect learning to the land and the community. Through songs, stories, and hands-on experiences, the children developed a strong sense of place and respect. As a Buddhist family, we always felt completely welcomed and respected at this Christian school. The values of kindness, compassion, gratitude, and responsibility were shared in a loving and inclusive way that felt deeply aligned with our home life. Our son also had the opportunity to share his own heritage during Culture Week and to learn about the cultures of his classmates. Seeing his identity honored and celebrated was incredibly meaningful and helped him feel proud and connected. The school created beautiful memories throughout the year, from Christmas and Easter performances to a heartfelt Mother's Day celebration. Preschool graduation was one of the best graduation events I have ever attended. It was thoughtful, joyful, and full of love. You could see how much the staff cared about each and every child. During a year when our family needed to take extended international trips, the school was flexible, understanding, and supportive. They even prepared homework packets for our son to bring with him, so he could stay connected and continue learning while we traveled. That level of care and thoughtfulness meant so much to us. Ewa Plains Enrichment has been around for many years, and that experience shows in the most beautiful ways. The staff have worked with so many different types of children and family situations, and their understanding, flexibility, and wisdom come through in how they support each student. You can tell they have truly seen it all and are prepared to meet each child where they are, with love and confidence. Ewa Plains Enrichment consistently goes above and beyond what is expected. They are always thinking about the children and their future. This is not just a school. It is a place where children are truly seen, nurtured, and loved. We will be forever grateful to this school, which is a true gift to the community and island!

Our child has excelled and fluorished not only in academics but also socially and spiritually. His growth here has been astounding. The staff here are amazing and were able to create a lesson plan and curriculum based on his needs. They address all aspects of a child's development and offer different activities and experiences for them. He went through three different neighboring preschools before we found this one and we wished we had found it sooner.

Amazing ancient wooden church reminiscent of years past. A true gem of ecclesiastical architecture…read morelocated in Ewa. A very diverse and enthusiastic parish. I come here on days when I'm free and always marvel at the 1929-circa structure and architectural adornments that provide a proper, peaceful, contemplative atmosphere for worshipping God,in all his Triune magnificence. The church contains a proper Nave, Narthex, Atrium, and Ambo. The original wooden buttresses have been repainted in a more modern color, but imagine they were splendid back in the day in their natural Koa wood simplicity. My poor photos do not do it justice. A church this old is certainly in need of recurring maintenance and I think the parish does well on the limited budget. But with all old buildings, there is always much to still do to preserve. I hope and pray that this beautiful church can always remain here on Oahu and that restoration efforts continue. I enjoy the beautiful Eucharistic Adoration on first Fridays and the fact that a lovely dedicated group of parishioners stay after Mass to pray the Divine Mercy chaplet together. I fully appreciate how piously the parish keeps a period of holy silence before Mass begins. This allows one to gather thoughts, offer personal prayers and prepare to as St Paul says: "offer yourselves as a perfect sacrifice to the Lord..." Highly recommend a visit here for worship and prayer. Mahalo for reading my review. Pax et Bonum.

I am so happy to have found this place!! St. Francis Intergenerational Center is a daycare facility…read morefor children and adults. I am going to review the adult daycare portion. I "shopped" and interviewed many places before settling on this one. First off, let me preface that being a caregiver to an ailing loved one 24/7 for the past 2.5 years has been the most challenging and rewarding "job" I have ever had. As rewarding as it is, I do acknowledge that self care is of utmost importance in terms of longevity. I need to be able to be of healthy mind, spirit and body BEFORE I can take care of anyone else. Anything else short of that means that fatigue, resentment and burnout will occur. This place is so fantastic! Really it is. Raquel is the program administrator the adult daycare portion and she has been so instrumental in helping our family transition our loved one into their program. Minimum days to be enrolled here is two days a week and of course anything after that they could probably accommodate your family needs. The staff is also very nice and genuinely caring and jovial. I have dropped by here many times without an appointment just to peer through their glass door to see what they are doing. Each time, I see my loved one being cared for and staff being attentive. Many times they don't see me peering in. But it's this type of surprise visit that make me feel at ease about leaving my loved one here. They have a monthly newsletter that goes out to the family and one can see what is on the menu daily, activities for the month, planned field trips, parties and themes for the month. They have different people come in as well during the week to "entertain" and engage the daycare participants - from musicians, yoga instructors (chair yoga), to arts and crafts - they really keep the participants busy. There is a daily schedule as well that includes meal times (breakfast, snacks and lunch), nap or down time and quiet time. Perhaps one of the nicest things about SFIC is that the participants get to engage with the children from the child daycare section (supervised of course) and both generations benefit from that exchange. The facility is extremely clean (a bit too cold but I just dress my loved one accordingly) and boasts a full kitchen, bathrooms and showers (if needed), recliners for nap time and outside picnic benches for when they get to enjoy the fresh air outside. This place has been a godsend!! I cannot stress enough how much this respite has helped alleviate caregiver stress and burnout. When choosing a daycare, it was important to me that there are staff members that could communicate with our loved one in her dialect. I feel completely comfortable leaving our loved one here knowing that her safety and well being is their foremost goal. She comes back smiling and that's always a good feeling. SFIG is located in Historic Ewa Beach on Renton Road.
