Everything needs to be inproved100% don't recommend. I recently attended Joshua Camp and was thoroughly disappointed. The facilities were poorly maintained, with broken equipment and dirty restrooms. The staff seemed uninterested and untrained, offering little assistance or guidance. Activities were disorganized and lacked variety, leading to boredom and frustration. The food was subpar, with limited options and questionable hygiene standards. Overall, the camp failed to provide a safe, enjoyable experience, and I cannot recommend it to anyone seeking a positive outdoor adventure. Save your money and look elsewhere for a better camping experience. And to top it off I found rats in the Cereal dispensary.!!!! read more

So today a friend of mine was turned away from worship because he had a shoulder bag. Quote " We cannot allow any men to come inside with a bag". Seriously it's 2024! I can't believe that a place of worship would turn away someone who wants to praise God. Doesn't it say in your Bible "judge not lest ye be judged". I've come here once before with him, and to be honest, the fake smiles, and the nonchalant handshakes spoke volumes. I'm not a person of faith. But my friend is. I will be contacting the church myself. To let them know of the people they have in their employment. Of the potential lawsuit that they'll have on them. And the Ludacris behavior that Lancaster Baptist church allows to happen on their property. I am appalled at the actions of Lancaster Baptist Church. Strap in because discrimination is illegal in all 50 states. Have fun with litigation. read more

My family and I started going to this church in 2015. And because of our Pastor, allowing God to use him. I have seen so many lives changed, including my family through God's powerful word. I've never been to a church so well put together. With connection classes for each age group, married, single, single mothers. Bus Ministry to where the buses go out to pick kids up. Deaf Ministry etc. Just amazing. I've meant some amazing people, and learned so much from God's word at this Church. The teaching is amazing. There's no perfect church anywhere on earth. Just as well as there's no perfect Job, family or anything else. But I do know our Pastor has a heart on fire for God, and he's doing the best that he can to help families. So if you are looking for a church where you, and your family can grow in the Lord. I highly recommend Lancaster Baptist Church. I posted a few pictures of things that we do at our church. Attended this church on a Sunday service. 1st time here, invited by a friend. This church was it seemed way in the boon dogs, but worth the drive to hear a good message. Upon entry, the greeters seemed very nice. It is a two story church. We sat on the second story. Everyone seemed to be focused on the pastor and there was no distractions outside of the stage. Very organized church was my thoughts. The worship was not of a choir but of one singer by the time I showed up (I was a little late). The sermon was good, the pastor references verses of the Bible and spoke his personal testimonies to life events. Had a good feeling walking out. read more

And it gives the impression that I am not there and I'm very uncomfortable by that. Why don't you go and preach the people who want to hear you. A random solicitor just knocked on my door and walked away after reading a sign posted which triggered the thought; I wish Lancaster Baptist Church soliciters would show the same respect. After making multiple calls over the years to the numbers on various advertisements left at my door by the church to cease all door literature it's literally been to no avail; so I've chosen to write a review while it's fresh on my mind and hopefully before they come again. I'm truly tickled pink people are all fired up about their religion of choice and in so feel moved to share and or solicit their faith. However, when a private property such as my home clearly has a posting on the front door that reads NO SOLICITING and SIN SOLICITAR, I trust that to be honored. Yet I continue to get the church's unwanted now unwelcomed leaflets, flyers, brochures, literature, invites, mailers, circulars, booklets, advertisements, handouts, and throwaways; it occurred to me that their mission driven church have no respect for trees, with so much advertisement waste, or above all their fellow man when a simple sign is disregarded. I'm downright EXHAUSTED of how easily a sign is overlooked. I RESPECT the freedom to your religion and the goal to recruit; if only one flyer make the differnece to one person you win but I respectfully ask you do the same, RESPECT the sign. I have not slammed or criticized this religion, or it's solicitors personally; clearly I have made an EPIC critique on how a simple sign is not respected on private property. We love attending this church when in this area. The music is wonderful, and we have been warmly welcomed. The preaching is sound and their ministries back up what they preach. Our daughter has attended the school for 3 years, and we have visited for special events too. If we lived in this area, we'd definitely attend this church. read more

This is a bible preaching church. God's word is lifted up. The Choir is amazing. The community is served well by this church. Buses go into the neighborhoods to show children who are unloved by the world, that God loves them. Amazing thing are happening here. Come visit and see lives being changed. read more

Lancaster Baptist is one of the largest churches in southern California. Thousands attend their Sunday services and the campus is enormous. You can easily find the church on the corner of Lancaster Blvd and 40th Street East. If you're coming from Avenue J, there is a large sign in the corner at 40th Street East. The entire block between Avenue J and Lancaster Blvd is the church campus. There are two entrances, I'd recommend you take the entrance with the large American flag. It's a two-way entrance both ways so you won't get caught in any bottleneck before and after the services. Parking attendants will guide you to a parking spot and if you park far, there are "golf-kart" style vehicles that will take you to the front entrance of the main auditorium. There are two sections where you can find a seat inside, the main floor or the second floor balcony. I'd recommend coming early as possible and getting a seat in the main floor's front sections. Like all churches, there are families that are accustomed to sitting at the same seats every Sunday. If you find yourself sitting in a seat where one family usually sits, don't worry- everyone at the church is extremely friendly and they won't mind at all. The church service is usually about an hour and 30 minutes, beginning with the worship and music and ending with Pastor Chappell preaching for about 30-40 minutes. Paul Chappell is a leading figure within the evangelical Christian movement and respected amongst Christian leaders in the United States. If you get a chance, check out his books online or read his op-ed's for certain well-known news organizations. read more

The volunteers at this church who drive around and try to get people to come to their services need to really check themselves. Last night at 8pm, after dark, two guys jumped out of a minivan and approached me in my driveway trying to give me information on Lancaster Baptist church and their services. My house was the only one they stopped at and they said they got my name off of a list of new residents in the area. I have been here for over a year. I'm not exactly new. After I sent them away, they hopped back into their van and sped off. In NO way is this acceptable to me. EVER. If this happens again, I will call the cops and report you people for harassment and trespassing. read more

I'm writing an updated review without actually updating the previous review 'cause I'm now (a few months) older and more mature and would like to sound that way. Let's go! The first time I ever stepped into the church I was just in time for Sunday school. One of the ladies at the welcome desk greeted me, asked my age, and told me we would be in the same class together if I wanted to go with her. Thus CrossTraining became my Sunday school class and Lancaster Baptist Church became my home church. + Wonderful bible based sermons! There is usually the introduction to set the stage and background, the definitions and greek/hebrew wording, points to jot down in your supplied handout, and takeaway points. + Sermons are Sunday 830am, 11am, 530pm, and Wednesdays 7pm. The two Sunday morning sermons are the same for those who have to miss one or the other to serve in a ministry. + Sunday schools are Sunday 10am and broken down into categories: mixed singles 22-25 years old, young couples, single women in their 20s, etc. You really get to know your Sunday school class and my class has gone hiking, done scavenger hunts, gone to retreats and played laser tag to name a few. + One of the most beautiful churches I have ever been in! Even the restrooms are gorgeous! There is a bookshop with books written by Pastor Chappell and the rest of the staff as well as a cafe and patio area. + Really, truly friendly people. Everybody embodies Jesus so well, and are so sharply dressed to boot! Don Sunday dress and dress to impress! + Wonderful choir and live orchestra with mostly hymns. You won't find rock music or the latest Air1 track here. I think most people have been in the choir before because even in the pews (read, cushion chairs) you have men and women around you singing the different harmony parts. + LBC is connected with the West Coast Baptist College and there are tons of college students, many of whom help out with the activities around the church. + Activities include: VBS, Bus ministry, nursery, choir, teaching Sunday school, serving as baristas, disciplining, soul winning, etc + Soul winning is when we go out and invite people to church or tell them about our latest programs, such as VBS + Discipleship is a 1 on 1 bible study that usually takes place on Wednesday evenings but can be flexible depending on your schedule, and goes through basic theology, bible stretches of scripture, the roles of the pastor, and so on. I go here every week (unless i have to work or something comes up) but mostly every week. Love the ppl here. Location is a bit far BUT, never a burden when it comes to acknowledging and praising the Lord. I learned a lot about myself and changed my way of thinking....for the better. This is a really nice church with updated modern buildings and facilities and a good head pastor that delivers a good message. I would estimate about half the people attending services are also attending the Bible college there. Also there is a building program for a new children's building. This church ministry seems to be focused toward the needs of the students attending there and for families with children or grandchildren. I did not feel it was good fit for me but would recommended for people with families or college age kids. read more

For now, all I'd like to say is that, in my experience, Lancaster Baptist Church, headed by Pastor Paul Chappell, has been the greatest church/church experience I have ever had in my life! I started attending around January 2003 & to this day (February 2015) I absolutely love the services pastor Chappell (& others) provide. This is the only church I've ever attended that appears to be headed by a faithful uncompromising pastor. I'm not saying the church or pastor are perfect, but they are as perfect as perfect get's. We lived in another state, and did not have a Bible preaching church within 30 minutes of us. We found this church on the Live Stream (internet) service. We watched for about a year before finally deciding it was worth it to make a move. Our family has been very blessed to be a part of Lancaster Baptist Church. The youth and teen ministry has been a great influence to my children. My husband and I have received a lot of encouragement and guidance for our marriage. I have read some of the negative reviews on Yelp. I have been going there for 5 years. When you go to church with several thousand people, some of them are going to be people with problems who are rude or misguided, because that is part of being human. People have bad days. This church is definitely worth visiting. I am thankful someone told me that Christ died for my sin. I am thankful for a pastor who is willing to preach from the Bible. read more

After 2 years members, they are miss-treated, taught and preaches wrong. They do not provide Food Distribution for the needs of handicapped and no longer gives rides. I love visiting this church. Each time that I have gone here I've learned something. They give you a fill in sheet as the pastor is teaching. Sometimes I tend to daze off when visiting other churches so this sheet keeps me alert, he reads directly from the bible and I can keep it as a study guide when i go home. The parking lot is extremely large so you will always have a place to park your car and they have a trolly to drive you to the door. Lot of activities and programs offered some are free and some require a donation but it great to know that they are available if you want it. This is a great place to worship and learn. read more

One of the most amazing churches I have ever been to. Pastor Chappel is a good friend of our family, he is an amazing servant of God. it is amazing what God has done through this church. I enjoy listening to their outstanding music and messages on Youtube. And if you are ever sick and have to stay home from church they have a live-stream service online that makes it feel like you are right in Church. Perhaps the volunteers for this church would like to come by my home (again) and pick up all the trash and solicitations that is by my doorstep. One of your volunteers came early last week and knocked not once, not twice, not 3 times, but 4 TIMES and sat at the door for over 10min. They were just having a conversation together at my door, while knocking over and over and over. If no one wants to answer after two knocks, you don't continue doing so. I detest this religion, and all the nutjobs associated with it and want none of this near my home. Stay offf my property. I hate your "volunteers" leaving your trash on my property. If you have to guilt trip people in their homes to go to your church, maybe it's time to quit and get back into the real world. I was in the area so I went to the church to let them know how rude it is. The place is huge, wonder if the "donations" are what keeps the place up. I came across rude people here. Biblical truth, and only Biblical truth is preached at this church. The children's ministry is awesome too, and I would not want my children raised in other church. From the moment one views the campus of the Lancaster Baptist Church and its ministries, a feeling of wonder grows in his heart. In the middle of the desert, an oasis has been built. On the eastern outskirts of Lancaster, a shining light has been constructed. The feeling of wonder grows as he enters the campus. Palm trees and carefully manicured lawns. The property is large and beautiful; It is immaculately maintained. The buildings are nicely designed and carefully cleaned. Attention to detail is obvious, but that is not what makes Lancaster Baptist Church amazing. Certainly it aids in the experience of visiting the church, but it does not alone make the visit enjoyable. The variable that stands out above all others at Lancaster Baptist Church is its spirit. The Spirit of God is moving in this place, and it is evident in the spirits of those who faithfully attend its services. From the greeters on the sidewalk who are eager to give directions, to the courteous ushers who help one find a seat, the friendliness of the people is revealed. The church members themselves are warm and hospitable; the pastor is personable. Although the church seems large at first arrival, the effort put forth to make one feel at home brings a family atmosphere to the place. The music is outstanding with a 200-voice choir and an orchestra! The preaching is even better with the practical wisdom, guidance, and encouragement given lovingly by Pastor Paul Chappell. Focused primarily on extensive study for an expository message, the pastor's sermons are reliably accurate. Nursery care is always provided. Kids classes on Sunday mornings are carefully planned. Something is always happening at Lancaster Baptist Church, and it is certainly exciting to be a part of it! Anyone is welcome, and every guest is valued!
