Make sure all prices are verified before services. My bill went up $200 more than I was quoted for no additional services or tests

This business is poorly run in every way I have experienced. The doctor is unfriendly, terrible…read more'bedside manner' and she dilated my eyes without my permission. She didn't even INFORM me that is what she was doing until I asked her if that is what she just had just done to me after the fact. I had to change plans for the rest of my day due to her unilaterally making that decision for me. It takes over 2 weeks to get contacts in and then I have to follow up with them myself to hunt them down. The office interactions aren't terribly professional and they moved their office 35 minutes away without so much as informing us as their clients. I found out accidentally on my own. I called this morning to hunt down said contacts and upon finding out they had arrived (no notification from them) I said i would come by in a bit to pick them up. "Ok" is all that I was told. Upon arriving during their posted and "open" business hours I find out that they close the entire office for lunch apparently so I had the pleasure of sitting in my car, messing up another day's schedule, to wait for them to reopen. See hours and open sign posted in window. We were already leaving this practice but now we are RUNNING from it. Don't take your business to Jewell, it's been a trash experience from day one. Worst I've ever known, frankly.

Change is constant, right? My insurance provider decided to…read morechange from VSP to EyeMed which meant I needed to find a new provider. I had cataract surgery last March which corrected my distance vision. The downside is that I now require readers. In addition, for my part-time job, I work on a computer in a public place so I need bi-focals. Unfortunately, I lost one of the lenses and the frames are damaged. It took 2 weeks to get an appointment. I was there early for my time. I filled out some paperwork and was ready to go when Dr Brook Vastis called me in. We talked about my transition to her practice and my vision needs. Mainly to get an exam to provide to my PCP, replacement bi-focal lenses and frames. The office environment is professional and functional. The Reception process was smooth and easy. While I was waiting I noticed there were two ladies that were talking to patients about their frame selections. They have a lot of premium choices, Maui Jim, Lilly Pulitzer, State Optical, Barton Perreira, Lafont of Paris,Ernia O of Barcelona, Silhouette, Ovo Optics, Modo, Morel and Kate Spade to name a few. I met with a lady named Jessie to talk about selecting frames and lenses and completing my order. She was very professional, friendly and helpful. I was pleased my insurance covered a large percentage of the overall costs. While changing medical providers can sometimes be anxious and stressful, this was not one of them.
