I called around 11 am this morning and spoke with a very helpful woman (sorry, forgot to ask her name!) and requested a custom arrangement to be delivered locally today. I gave a few suggestions for flowers that the recipient likes and gave a price limit and asked for it to be as big as possible within that. Boy, did they deliver! The arrangement is to celebrate the completion of cancer treatment and I'm very happy with the outcome and delivery was made a few hours after I called. I've never been into this florist before and I have to admit, I was a little underwhelmed with their selection. It seemed as if their inventory wasn't as stocked as usual due to Covid. The flowers that I did see were quite pretty and fresh though. It was actually one of the female owners of the store that really brightened my day. Each year for September 11th, I provide a local fire station with a bouquet of flowers and a large meal to feed the men and women who sacrifice their lives to protect us every day. It just so happens that one of the owners had a small silver fire hydrant with writing and some stickers on it, as if it was previously used as some type of prop in a party. She then proceeded to spray paint the fire hydrant one solitary color- just for me- and she used it as a vase. I thought it was creative and accommodating as she went out of her way to please me. Thank you for making me and local firefighters happy. P.S. When Fire Station #33 in Lancaster received the flowers, they said they were going to use it as a centerpiece on their dinner table tonight. read more
