But my favorite thing about this branch is that they have tons of non-book items for children that can be loaned out such as puzzles, games, theme backpacks, lacing cards, etc. I use them for the children I work with and these items have been a huge help to me. The only downside of this branch is that they have a small collection of books due to space. However, you can request books from other locations throughout Lancaster County.

I first visited this library over the summer with my granddaughter when we were looking for…read moresomething different to do. While it's smaller than the Manheim Township branch it has an excellent children's department complete with (at the time) a play store, bins of train sets, blocks, etc. and a few ride on toys. Noticeably less crowded and with a comfy chair for the caretaker, it's easily a place to linger while your child plays safely. In addition to the free play toys there's several computers for children (toddler aged up) with learning games and such. I tried to get her interested in some of the games but they didn't hold her interest and quite honestly they were pretty lame. At a recent visit we noticed the play store was gone and replaced with a play kitchen so I believe the larger toys are rotated. What I especially like about this children's area is the backpacks and clear bags full of themed activities that you can check out. Some contain books in addition to games and puzzles on that theme, while others are just games and toys. I haven't seen these elsewhere and while I believe they have a shorter check out period it's a nice change from the toys you might have at home. While I haven't explored the adult section of the library I have taken advantage of the magazines and newspapers you can read in house. Additionally they offer movies and new book releases for check out. In the lobby there are bargain paperbacks for sale and free magazines for the taking. Grab a calendar of events at the check-out counter as they also offer activities (reading related as well as crafts and fun events) for both children and adult alike. I'm excited to attend the Cat in the Hat green eggs and ham breakfast next month which required advance purchase as some of their events do. SIDENOTE: Closed Fridays. Very handicap accessible with a ramp at the entrance and everything on one floor.

The front desk person was very soft spoken and pleasant. I didn't feel judged for my library card shortcomings. After the documents were printed, they let my partner pay for them but wouldn't release them to them. That feels very professional and secure. The atmosphere is peaceful and quiet save for the occasional excited toddler bouncing around. There's the bookery which is not only clean and cozy but stunningly fancy looking, kind of like a little palace. Items bought there are yours to keep. The prices are more than reasonable, some of the stuff is antiques. There's a teen wing, non-fiction, a chess board, dvds, sensory items, and a few free shelves. But so much more! There's useful documents everywhere, from a library-offered self-guided scavenger hunt to incredibly helpful mental health resources. Bathrooms are clean and open to the public. I recommend the summer reading program for kids, mine did it for a few years. It's incredibly rewarding for them. Bosler will always be my favorite library. Maybe I'm biased, but I think it deserves every bit of its praise. I will always go here.

I come to this library primarily to use the study rooms which are nice, spacious and comfortable. They have a white board inside of them as well. My favorite part of this library is the display of African American baseball artifacts on multiple levels. It shows how important, valuable and the great contribution African Americans players made to the sport of baseball. Park on the garage level.....maybe on floor 3 of the garage which had a small bridge to enter the library directly. Also, The community college shares the upper floors of this library as well which includes larger study rooms and an entire computer lab. The staff is really helpful as well. Will definitely be back time and time again

One of the things I love most is that the children's library has its own downstairs entrance, which makes it really easy when you're visiting with little kids. As soon as you walk in, the information desk is right at the front, and the self-checkout stations are conveniently located on the right, making grabbing and returning books quick and simple. The children's area itself is bright and welcoming, with tons of windows and natural light, which makes it feel open and calm instead of crowded. My kids especially love the play area, and there's plenty to keep them busy. Some of the highlights include: * Interactive wall activities where kids can flip pieces, match items, and move little balls through tracks * Puppet theater play * Interactive computers * A fish tank they enjoy checking on * A coloring area * A wide variety of books for different ages There's also lots of seating, which makes it easy for parents to sit and read while the kids explore. They host storytimes in the children's library, and there's also a separate room used for programs and events. Even when we're not attending a scheduled program, the play space alone easily keeps my kids entertained for an hour or more. Another thing I appreciate is how family-friendly the layout is. Inside the children's library there are two bathrooms with changing tables, which is incredibly convenient when you're visiting with little ones. There's also an additional larger restroom outside of the children's area with stalls and another changing table. Parking is easy, with street parking near the lower-level entrance and a parking lot available as well. Outside the children's library there's extra seating, and depending on when you visit, the library café is open with really reasonable prices for coffee and snacks, which is a nice bonus during longer visits. This is definitely one of those places where we can easily stay for a few hours between playing, reading books, and just enjoying the space. After visiting for so many years, it's still one of our go-to libraries, and I know we'll keep coming back.

They also have a wonderful children's library as well! The staff is always so helpful, kind, and friendly! From having to pay fines or even just asking a general question everyone who I have interacted with has been very helpful! The story times are also very wonderful! Amy who reads to the kids is always so positive, fun, and outgoing allowing the kids to really get into the story and songs to have a great time! They have story time two days every week & they are always so great! I definitely would recommend if you have a little one to check out the story times! What's also great about this library is that it is apart of the Cumberland County Libraries! So if you want a specific book, but it's at a different location you can still request it because of being apart of the county libraries! Definitely check this library out if you haven't!
