I was here for a meeting recently and was thoroughly impressed with both the facility and the friendly staff. Oh, and they have books too :-) If you live in this neighborhood and want to know what's going on in your community, definitely stop by and chat up the staff or just check out the community events board in the lobby .

There are tons of interesting books and the library is peaceful enough to get lost in a few stories . There are is a pretty diverse selection for children and adults . The library also offers workshops and free events that are also engaging . The library is located off pleasant run behind the Wingstop and next to the DeSoto Recreation center.

That excitement soon dwindled as I noted a man passed out on the bench right in front of the main entrance.... I turned to follow the path to the trail and a man loudly shouting on speakerphone walked right past me to the trailhead. Very disappointed and will not be returning alone with my baby

They have a really neat kids section with a fun jungle themed sitting area for the kids with stuffed jungle animals to sit on and really neat murals on the wall. I like this library a lot because it has the technology to easily do research and browse through the electronic catalogs, but yet still has the old school library feel to it. The staff has always been friendly and extremely knowledgeable when you have a question. The drop off is a little hard to fin at first, I wish it had a big red sign or arrow pointing to it, it can easily be missed!

My daughter then went to play with the large stackable blocks which kept falling. The older female librarian came out to tell my daughter "you're being very disruptive." Then the older female librarian proceeded to take away all the blocks. What is the point of having a children's play area if noise must be non existent. Accidents will happen. It seems the employees are doing their best to create a bad experience for parents and children which will deter them from returning.

Parents and children can engage in all types of activities. Training videos are online and available for users to view at home and librarians are very helpful with patrons who might need assistance. Definitely should be on the list for summer fun.

Inside, floor to ceiling windows look out onto a little lake--what an inviting place to curl up with a book! Staff is also topnotch. They're very friendly and helpful, and many know me by name. I'm always sad when the city rotates the librarians to other outposts, because it's like losing a friend. Negatives? The heat/ac can be really wonky. I hate to see the staff shivering or sweating. Not a good.reward for these hard working people. Update: You can now request book purchases through their website. Just go to the catalog, and search the book you want. If they don't have it, you can request its purchase! Oh happy day!
