I'm sorry, but I was left terribly unimpressed with this place…read more
I was with a group touring Linz, and we had booked this place to have lunch. While I understand that the options in terms of food will vary, I still hold them to the same standard of food quality, and some standard of service.
Here goes...
Service: Service was good, considering we were a very large group. However, there was bread on the table, and the group and restaurant had to debate whether or not it was free.
I get that serving bread before the meal for free is not customary in Austria, but why put bread in the middle of tables if it might cost money... and how do you intend to have people pay for a communal bread bowl?
Food: Out of the given options to my group, I chose the beef soup, the chicken, and a salad was provided to everyone.
Beef soup was beefy salty broth with small pieces of pancake noodles. Not a piece of beef in sight.
Salad from the salad bar was good! There was a good variety of ingredients available, and ingredients were fresh and of good quality.
Chicken, as well as the rice and vegetables that came with it, were cooked perfectly. However, the sauce/marinade with the chicken while pleasant made the chicken way over salted. Vegetables and rice lacked any seasoning whatsoever; they were just boiled rice and vegetables.
Suffice it to say, if and when I visit Linz again, I will not be returning to this location.
