We set up the day before and day of the wedding most of our restroom essentials were stolen by staff!!!!!! Did not pay attention to detail at all! Lack experience, especially with setting up for a beautiful event. They were not ready when we arrived, they were still setting up. Dishonest about quite a few things!!! Would not return a phone call after the event to discuss pros and cons, and no follow up call from them as well!! Flowers were not as discussed!!!! I've had two dinner parties at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven and both were really awesome. My company treated us to a catered party with hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. The hors d'oeuvres were fresh, hot, and tasty. The beer and wine were also good. No cheap wine was served and it was quite tasty. The second party was the annual Christmas party, paid for by my company. We had hors d'oeuvres, open bar, soup, salad, steak, lobster, nuts, Cheeries Jubliee, Spanish coffee, and tons of cookies and cakes for dessert. This was one of the nicest, most complete meals I've ever eaten! Loved every minute of it! Since they prepared 600 meals that night, my steak and lobster were not hot, but they were warm. Both were good, but not incredible. Recommend! read more

This was my second time here. The first for a wedding reception and the second for a work related gala. I can see why this is a go-to place for classy affairs. The entrance was very close to the actual ballroom. The bathrooms must have at least 20 stalls so I never had to wait in line. The ballrooms were very spacious. The food: started off with a salad, a generous portion of actual greens! No skimping with the ice berg yes! The dressing was already drizzled on, which usually I don't like but it was definitely a good dressing to salad ratio and no saturated greens at the bottom. They never asked what my meal preference was but it was a combo of strip steak and chicken! with roasted asparagus and mashed potatoes! dang that was like two meals in one! My steak was cooked the way I like, medium rare, but my neighbors sent it back for well done and the staff aimed to please. All the staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend this venue or use it for wedding reception or classy party. Also it's close to the freeway and easy to find! Choose between valet or self park but not covered parking. read more

I recently attended the Textile Art Alliance Fashion Show and Luncheon and was really impressed with this venue. I have super low expectations for event venues in the area (I have horror stories for days) but Landerhaven far exceeded my expectations. The parking valet is really easy and fast. The main ballroom is appropriately spacious and appears to have updated décor. The silk drapery and lights on the ceiling create a sweet ambience and the doors have an interesting Great Gatsby like pattern to them. The common areas have big bay windows with natural light. The food was also surprisingly good. So often, I find event spaces to serve bland chicken and unattractively plated entrees. This was the opposite. The lemon chicken was a generous portion, the asparagus was nicely cooked and the potato rosette was delicious. The table rounds in general were set pretty tightly which can be problematic if your guests are taller (like me) with not a lot of space to really move anything around the table at all. Otherwise, the staff was really attentive, and I would absolutely consider hosting an event here in the future! read more

I would not recommend this wedding venue to anybody. Landerhaven used to have a great reputation under its old owners and we had attended many beautiful events at Landerhaven over the years. When Landerhaven got new owners and we heard they were doing an extensive renovation, we were excited because to be quite frank, the building was pretty outdated. We met with Landerhaven and saw images for renovations they were working on 1.5 years before our wedding day and they were beautiful and modern. Working with our day-of coordinator, we signed a contract. For the following several months, I heard nothing from Landerhaven despite emailing our day-of coordinator with questions. Turned out, our day-of coordinator was no longer with the company and we finally heard from our newly assigned day-of coordinator several months later. We met with her and felt confident that all the details we agreed upon in our contract had been understood. A few months before the wedding, our now second day-of coordinator told us that she actually would not be there on our wedding day and that we would be assigned a new (third) day-of coordinator. Despite asking several times who this person would be so that we could meet with them, we were told that nobody had been assigned yet. We finally got assigned a day-of coordinator just 2-3 weeks before the wedding. I asked to schedule a meeting with this person to make sure everyone was on the same page and that all details were discussed and was told that the new coordinator was cc'ed on all emails and there was no need to meet with them in person. But the worst part of our experience was on the actual day of our wedding. There are too many details to list here so I will just go over the largest issues: 1) The day-of coordinator was nowhere to be found all day/night. It was clear she never looked at our contract and had not spoken to the previous coordinator about what we had discussed. 2) # of chairs set up at each table was incorrect for reception. Bride's mother was forced to walk around from table to table, counting seats and setting up chairs. 3) staff closed all sides of the tent during the ceremony causing 2 family members to pass out due to the June heat. 4) we were promised a paper walkway to be laid down in the tent for the ceremony to avoid my dress dragging on the cement. this did not happen and the bottom of my dress was torn up because of this. 5) Dinner took 1.5 hours to get out between first plate and last plate served. Vendors also did not get their meals when they were supposed to, throwing off the entire schedule. completely unacceptable, especially since Landerhaven prides themselves on being a "catering company". 6) our family heirloom cake cutting knife, cake topper, and religious items were lost by staff, most of which only to be found at the end of the night as we were leaving. 7) bartenders did not know how to make simple drinks. 8) we were promised a second bar set-up in the ballroom during reception which simply was not there. When meeting with management afterwards to discuss these plus SO many other issues, we were told it was our fault for not meeting with the (third) coordinator before the wedding day (we tried to!) and for not hiring our own wedding planner. We were completely shocked by their response. I had sent them a full minute-by-minute schedule, excel spreadsheets with number of guests per table and their chosen meals, everything imaginable! Our second coordinator even said to me in an email "you are the most organized bride I have ever worked with"..... yet, according to their VP and president, when they completely f- up, its the customer's fault. Never a single apology. Their new management clearly does not hold the same standards that the old owners did- blaming their customers for all of their own mistakes. Thats definitely a good way to get a bad reputation in a tight-knit community. read more

Just got back from my daughter's wedding at Landerhaven and I could not go to sleep until I wrote my review. The event was so completely perfect - I couldn't write a bad review, even if I wanted to (Which I do NOT!). The venue was absolutely stunning, even the setting for the ceremony, and could not have been run more smoothly and professionally. The servers were all exceptional; beartenders as well. The flower centerpieces, table settings, everything was simply gorgeous. AND DO NOT forget the FOOD at Executive Caterers!! Every bite was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented! (And AGAIN, the servers were polite, efficient, and very engaging!). This was at least the 20th event we have hosted or attended at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven over the last 30 years, and we are NEVER disappointed! Looking for a party venue - or any celebration - RUN to Executive Caterers at Landerhaven!!!! read more

This was my fourth luncheon at Landerhaven; part of a rather large group. I must say the salad was very good, and the desert was excellent. However the main entree consisted of chunks of beef that were so fatty I could not eat them, and had to spit them delicately into a napkin. The vegetable portion consisted of roasted vegetables that were so undercooked they could not even be cut with a knife. We had to choose between three entrees, perhaps the chicken or the salmon were much more edible but I took my food home in a container but probably will not eat it. read more

Granted the place is nice ! The first event planner I had just one day stopped taking my calls . When I went for my dinner tasting the lady,Who arranged that told me I would be if be contacting her from then out. If you want a event planner that answers the phone , is excited to help And there if you have questions this isn't the place for you! Doesn't matter how much you pay because I spent over 16k and couldn't get simple questions answered for weeks at a time! I honestly feel like being a younger black couple they just didn't take us serious or we weren't a real Priority ! The food at the tasting was delish The food at my wedding was blah. Nothing like what I tried . Also my event planner didn't even show the day of !!! They charge for every little teeny tiny thing ! If you give them a budget , prepare to go over ! Seem like their more interested in events like shows and pop up shops over weddings ! The service staff I will say , considering my event planner didn't show was AMAZING! Attended The Landerhaven this past Saturday(holiday work dinner) one word amazing! The decor was absolutely beautiful. The waiters we're professional, neatly dressed, and polite. Cocktail food is excellent - ESP anything seafood- but the sit down service is always sub par. Banquet dining is hard to pull off and while much care goes into everything I just can't rave about the yearly filet that tastes like bad roast. read more

When planning an event for my client, I chose Executive Caterers for outside catering and their services SUCKED. Diftwood caterers changed our menu selectionS stating that the items were not available and forced me to replace items with the chef's selections and refused to give me other options listed on the catering menu. After the original menu was paid in full, this is the kind crap you would not expect from a long standing company as Landerhaven by Executive Cateres. When the food was delivered, the meatballs were swimming in water, the cake that Driftwood's Bakery made was noting like the picture that was provided, yes I have covered the meatballs and left the horrible cake that was $100 in its box never taking it out of the box and will call Uber to deliver it back to Executive Caterers as myy client deserves a full refund. Maybe because it was a church in the City of Cleveland, they decided to prepare and deliver below quality food not fit to give your dog. Big mistake on their part. I will post on all Social Media platforms to stay away from Landerhaven if you are planning an offsite event and looking for outside catering. DO NOT CHOOSE LANDERHAVEN OR DRIFTWOOD PERIOD. I went to a fashion show they did in conjunction with the hunger network and I'm already looking forward to the one again next year. Recently attended Patrons Fall Clambake at Landerhaven and was very glad to have driven from Toledo to attend this event. The food did not disappoint. Our group was hungry by the time we got there but we weren't hungry for very long. The clam chowder was creamy comfort food. We had an eclectic variety of eaters at our table: most had clams, others had either the strip steak or roasted chicken. From the sounds of things, the chicken was nice and moist and the steak was cooked to perfection. We all took note of how nicely the room was decorated and enjoyed the nautical theme. The only thing missing was the seashore! We already decided this is an event we will be attending from now on. read more

We went there for an event In November, 2014 and had a multitude of problems. When we used the valet, our car was fine. When we came back, not only was I notified that I had a flat tire, but a donut was on my car. Here we are, finishing up January of 2015 with STILL no resolution. Charles, the VP of the company, will not return my call. Claudia (who answered the phone) even has the audacity to let me know that I should be happy they changed my tire, and it was a great service provided!!! Aside from the car issue, our service was AWFUL. At our table, we had two food allergies, a vegetarian, and a person who could not eat shellfish for religious reasons. Our server, ironically the same man that I handed my keys over to when I had arrived, gave the vegetarian French onion soup, and insisted that one of our guests the the shrimp. As for the allergies, forget it. By the time someone had actual figured out what "gluten" was, they were given a plate full of veggies covered in a soy sauce blend (soy=gluten), and were violently ill the rest of the evening. The management never even got to hear that complaint because they have never called me back to finish the discussion on the first point!!! Do NOT book this facility. I'll be sure to let all of my wedding planning friends know this information as well. Now, off to complain with the BBB. Perhaps some resolution will come then, but I won't hold my breath. ***added later****. (After the "response") Let me make this VERY clear, at NO TIME did I make it seem that if You didn't pay for my tire (notice, TIRE singular, as in the one that your valet messed up) was I then going to write a bunch of bad reviews. Had I not continued to call and follow up, I'm sure my complaint would have been swept under the rug, just as all of the other situations from other people who have had complaints about different occurrences at Landerhaven. I attended an event at this facility recently, and I have no complaints! I thought the food was good, the decor was beautiful, and I especially liked the landscaping. Every staff person I encountered was professional and smiling. Obviously a review from someone paying to host an event here would be more helpful. From what I understand, Executive Caterers are the exclusive event caterers for any/all events held at the Cleveland Public Auditorium. Last night they ran the bars for the Portugal the Man concert which was relocated from the Agora (with plenty of notice to prepare). The drink/beer purchasing experience was awful. There were 3 main booths with a few bartenders each and they could not handle the volume based on set-up/logistics and overall poor planning. All of the lines were running into each other and causing walking traffic jams between the entrance and stage. At least 2 stands ran out of product, even if temporarily, even before the headliner began. It was not clear which bars were cash only until you reached the front. Whomever was in charge of this event should go through extensive training before they are allowed to manage another event of this size. The bartenders, while slow, did the best they could under the circumstances. We waited 45 minutes in a line between opening and headliner to get our second (and final) beer and others waited longer. EC lost revenue and left many feeling thirsty and dissapointed. Cheers. read more

I recently attended an event at the Landerhaven with high expectations. Unfortunately, I learned that not only is the staff incompetent, but the managers seem to be as well. A person pays money, signs a contract, for a particular service. The Landerhaven apparently is not aware of this procedure to deliver what their contract binds them to. When questioned about the lack of integrity from their business, I had an horrendous experience with a manager Mike Ferarer (sp?) calling me an idiot, after questioning his intentions. I suggest to anyone who decides to use this "business", realize that it will probably not be the smiles and warm greetings the day of your event, the way it was when you handed them your money. I had a wonderful first meeting here and was ready to give them my deposit for our date. We had a wedding of about 100 and met their minimum no problem. I gave them my deposit and also signed the form to reserve the date. its been about two weeks and I scheduled my planning meeting to go over details. I order my save the dates and invites and everything then all of a sudden I call them today to confirm my planner meeting and they tell me that they are in the business of making money and they bumped me for a bigger wedding that day. The VP as rude and had a didn't care attitude and said they would think about it. If you have any food allergies or food intolerances DO NOT EAT here. I was here last night attending our company's appreciation dinner. When dinner served I informed the wait staff that I am allergic to garlic and onions and asked if there had some that I could eat with out them. There was a woman nearby, (not wait staff she was wearing regular clothes instead of a uniform), she told the waiter that she would take care of it. She brought out a plate with the same vegetables that were being served with the regular meal and a very tasty looking quinoa dish. There was a shallot (or red onion) in the mixed vegetables. Her reply was that she told the staff no onion and said so it is not ok if it touches it? The answer is no, if you have a food allergy it is not ok to just take the onions out of the dish and bring it back. She brought me out a second plate. I started eating the quinoa and found scallions throughout the dish. While it might be ok that the wait staff does not know that shallots and scallions are in the onion family it is definitely not ok that the people preparing the meal do not. I was able to eat an undressed salad and the cheesecake. I never saw the woman after that to tell her, so I mentioned it to someone on the wait staff as I was leaving. The person who was actually waiting on our table was kind enough to steer me away from the rolls which were laced with garlic, so thanks for that. read more

I'm an event planner and worked with Executive Caterers for an business lunch event we held at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This was the only company I was told I could work with to provide food & beverage for our meeting so my choice was limited. Their customer service and follow through from the sales & administrative office was very poor, slow to respond and receptionist very rude when I would call to ask where my BEO was when I spoke with sales 3 weeks ago. The food was pretty average, nothing exceptional. However I can say was the banquet staff they sent to work our event were very professional. The sales/administrative offices could take some lessons in professionalism from this end of the business. I also paid an advance deposit but never got a final bill and 4 mos. later I got a call from a very rude man for payment. I sent an email to my sales contact saying I would be happy to pay them if they ever sent me a final bill. Very odd, I plan events all the time and will typically get an invoice a week later. This company is not very organized. We paid almost $10,000 for an average lunch buffet and continental breakfast for 50 people, highly overpriced in my opinion. Also, don't expect to get any sort of thank you or follow up post event on what you thought, they don't have time for that. In the end, I wouldn't use this catering company again. We primarily book our events at Marriott's, Hilton's and Westin's that have very organized catering teams, excellent food and facilities. This was an isolated instance of us having to use a 3rd party catering company. read more

Landerhaven was the site for our September 2012 wedding ceremony and reception. My husband and I wanted to take a brief moment to write about our experience in working with them during our year-long engagement! Our site coordinator was Madeline Repidonis. In general, we were amazed at the final product that came of all of our planning. The wedding and reception were breathtaking, for both us and our guests. The food was absolutely phenomenal - unparalleled to any other "wedding food" I've ever tasted. Our guests raved about the hors d'oeuvres selected for our cocktail hour and "midnight snacks", as well as the main menu. Honestly, for the food aspect alone - I would give Landerhaven top marks. The service provided to us on the day of our wedding was also top notch. We had passed hors d'oeuvres during our cocktail hour - and there were a ton of servers presenting food to our 160+ guests. They made a point of seeking out my husband and I for some of these as well (thank you!). Dinner and bar service during the reception were equally wonderful. The one down side we had on this front was that responsiveness seemed to decrease as our event day came closer, and there were a few "miscommunications" as well. However, we were a rather needy couple with a very detailed wedding, and feel that Madeline did her best to keep up! The facility speaks for itself - it was gorgeous. They also did our decorations, which were breathtaking. I should also mention that it poured rain and hailed on our day - which called for a complete change in "the plan." Landerhaven handled this splendidly - and I couldn't be happier with the results! As far as the cost, we will admit that Landerhaven was very expensive. However, we honestly feel that it was worth every penny we spent to host our wedding at this facility. In general, we would recommend Landerhaven to others. read more

Went in to view them as a potential wedding venue. This was my third time coming and this time was with my fiancé to make our finale pick with a check book in my car to put the money down if he liked it. We are having a smaller wedding of around 75 people as we really don't know that many people. I didn't tell the women who showed us around how much we were willing to spend as is the smart thing to do when trying to gage a place. We got there and I admit we were about 20mins early for the appointment we had set. When we went to check in we were told that the women who would be showing us around was not there yet ( I can understand we were early) so we walked around a little bit and watched them set up. This is when the horrifying part started; the tables we saw were very old and rickety, the carpet very stained, a radiator falling off the wall and very stained linens on tables. I hadn't had the chance the previous two times with TWO DIFFERNT coordinators who are both no longer there ( they obviously didn't even pass me on to another coordinator) to really see the place when the had events about to happen which is why we went on a Saturday this time to see them in action. Then we went back to the office and the women who was to show us around still was not there yet and apparently didn't even have us written in her day planner even thou she had called me and set the appointment and had called me the day before to confirm. So another women showed us around and was really snotty about it as well when I posed basic questions of about the cost of decorating and lighting. She said that she wasn't able to tell me even a ball park guess of how much. I'm sorry but isn't that your job to kind of know around how much the cost of everything is. I just wanted an average to form a base from in my head. I get that decorations can very from person to person but I know that there has to be an average. The attitude I received from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left was pretty much like " why are these urchins in our venue". I was also FORGOTTEN hello you forget a person is going to come in all three times that I went there shows your going to forget something in the planning. The out of date décor didn't really help me very much either the reason I was considering is I know what decorations can do for even the blandest of rooms. Avoid this place if you don't want to be treated like dirt on the bottom of there shoes. Also if the People at the Landerhaven read this I would like you to know that you missed out on a very nice pay check as our budget for a 75 person wedding was around 35,000. You also missed out on 7 of the other weddings my friends were planning as well ( we are all 23-28) All of them bigger then mine. I had told them since I have the most time to research things I would do some browsing for them as well since they don't have the time to go to a ton of venues. This is just bad business and you need to get your coordinators acts together. The members of my Synagogue will be hearing about this as well. read more

I had my event here a few months ago and I still can't stop thinking about how much I wish I could have taken my business elsewhere. If it wasn't for Landerhaven, my reception would have gone smoothly with no headaches. Advice to every bride & groom: the staff will treat you like family and seem like angels when you first go there and BEFORE you make a down payment. After that down payment is in, watch out because all the pricing changes and everything you think you will get is not what you're getting at all. The florist will schedule an appointment with you, act nice, send you a very large bill for things you said you'll "think about" and then when you decide you don't want those things, he will tell you that you're a complete waste of his time! I went into Landerhaven thinking it was perfect but Madeline was my coordinator and she is just horrible. They do not email you to get back to you about things on time and if there is anything you want, you should know that you will end up researching EVERYTHING yourself because none of the staff will help. Most of the time, the coordinators aren't even there, they are always claiming to be on vacation or have the day off. I had prices quoted on my entire event before I made a down payment, after I made the payment, they gave me pricing that was a lot higher and claimed that I didn't know what I was talking about and that I had it all wrong (even with everything I had written down in a notebook from the very beginning). To anyone having a wedding, please save yourself the hassle and go with your gut feeling because my wedding was in July and I still can't help but to be upset that I ever let this place get to me. It's a shame that the staff can treat you like dirt even with a $40,000 wedding reception! Wish I could have spent that money on a place that deserved it, this place needs to be shut down! read more
