The wife and I, after breakfast at Nick's, decided to go d/t and hit some antique and resale shops. After we hit some shops, it was time for a relaxing drink and catch up on Yelp. Landon Winery was near by and we stopped in. The place is big but with that small town, historic vibe. Very relaxing atmosphere. I got a glass of Tempranillo and she had a frozen "Swirl" - a blend of peach and sangria. That was good. My glass was excellent. They have a nice food menu as well. We'll come back when we're not full from "brunch". You can get drink to go as well - I guess the city is good with sip-n-stole. Service was outstanding. Pricing is on par for this type establishment - drinks were $33. before tip. I don't think there would be ideal for kids, but that's just a guess. Definitely will be back when in town. read more

Stopped by this location on our way to Durant the day before Thanksgiving and enjoyed my visit there. There was a sudden rush of people when I got there but the lady that was working still provided excellent service even though she was the only one there at the time. I didn't catch her name but she was great in providing service and recommendations on the variety of wines there. We got the meat and cheese board along with a vatiety of wines to try out. Everything we ordered tasted great and even took a few bottles to go. The location inside was very nice looking and definitely gave the vibes that I was about to taste some great wines. Hopefully I get another chance to stop by again when passing through heading to Durant. read more

We visited Landon Winery in downtown Denison as part of the North Texas Wine Trail and we were so glad we did! They have an extensive variety of wine to pick from - Texas wine as well as wine from California and elsewhere. Lots of delicious wine choices. Our server was very friendly, but the pace of the service did slow a bit when they got busier. There are many seating options inside with lots of space for your group plus board games that you can play. Classy ambiance but did not feel any pressure to be dressed up. Free street parking around downtown. We liked it so much we are thinking of joining their Wine Club. read more

I am a member of their wine club and I was in the business on a Wednesday night for the half price night. purchased a bottle of their Yellow Rose wine it's normally $30. I was picking up my wine bottles so the lady said I have your card I will just ad the 16 $ charge for the yell rose bottle that I planned on enjoying while I was there, So in a few days I checked my account activity and I noticed that I was $42 for that $16 bottle of wine so I went back up to Landon's. why my account charged $42 and not the 16. She said there was a $26 tip. I ridiculous. I did not authorize that. Which I she said the should've turned screen around for you to sign it. I said no that was never done so she manager and the manager says refund him the $42 and then charge him for the of yellow rose again. so she goes to the motions of saying that she's refunding my $42 back to my debit and then charges me for the $16 bottle of wine that I had on the Wednesday night before. So today I checked my account activities again. I noticed the charge for $16 on my activity, but I do not find a return of the $42. So I was actually charged $58 for that $16 bottle of wine. Thus this is why I'm writing this critique of Denison I do not think that they're operating in good faith public. I've never had this kind of problems before with any of the other landings wineries. beware read more

Denison, which is already steeped in wine history, makes a great spot for Landon Winery's newest location. The inside of the former Book Rack has been transformed and is beautiful throughout. I am thankful for this business coming to Denison and being willing to invest in the beautiful downtown restoration. For Texas wine, it's good, and a nice selection of their Texas winemaking craft. They seem to specialize in the sweeter side of wide, but I did enjoy the Cabernet. We ordered a pepperoni flatbread from their selection of bites; I would not recommend it, crust is soft not crispy, and it was too similar to school cafeteria pizza for my taste. The charcuterie board looked tasty, but it was ordered by other members in our party so I did not taste it. The service was excellent once we were helped, but we had to go to the bar counter and ask for someone to come to our table. The server apologized and said they were busy; however, the seating was about 33% full. It's a new business, so I am willing to overlook the flaws due to newness. We took a vacation to Lake Murray State Park and wanted to do some wine tasting in Texas during our week. Based on the weather forecast, we chose Wednesday. Little did we know that most wineries are closed on this day. But this one was open! We made our way through the construction on Main Street and found this beautiful tasting "room". It is beautifully designed and decorated. It is so welcoming. The Manager greeted us and walked us through the options. After "interviewing" me to find out our tastes, she made some recommendations and the fun began. She was very knowledgeable about all of the wines and knew where the grapes were grown, how the wine was made and could talk all the talk. We had a small charcuterie board with our tastings to cleanse our pallets between wines and it was filled with a nice variety that all paired wonderfully with our selections. In conversation we discovered that this was a new location for the winery and she had moved to Denison from one of their other locations specifically to manage it. She knew the history of the company, the owner, winemaker and shared about the education their servers and managers go through to give this wonderful experience. This was the most enjoyable, positive and professional tasting we have ever experienced and we have been to many in multiple states. This was even better than our California experience. We discussed returning next year with our family for another experience. We left with several bottles to take home with us and know we will enjoy them in the future. We were so thankful this was the only tasting room open at 2:00 on a Wednesday as we had a delightful experience and will be recommending this location to our friends. read more

Me and my girlfriend were recommended this location by some friends who frequented the McKinney location, it was our first time in and while the place looks great, and the wine was good I can't help but express how disappointing and disgusting it was to witness a female staff member intoxicated, tumbling over themselves, being loud and obnoxious, then proceeding to pass out on the floor. We will most likely not be returning to this location. read more
