Avoid at All Costs - Unreliable and Dishonest I hired King Ellis for sodding and tree trimming based on what appeared to be positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. After taking a deposit upfront, King gave me multiple dates for when the work would begin--and each time, he was a no-show. No courtesy calls, no updates, just empty promises. Eventually, he completely disappeared. No responses to texts, calls, or messages--just full-on ghosted me. It's clear now that he had no intention of doing the work after taking the deposit. This is unprofessional, unethical, and borderline fraudulent. I strongly caution anyone considering working with him or his company. Do not trust King Ellis. He took my money and vanished. I have since reported him on Thumbtack and recommend others do the same to prevent this from happening to anyone else. read more

Holiday weekend and this guy showed up! I requested a quote for a job that I needed done on the thanksgiving holiday break. These guys responded to my quote request through yelp app within a couple hours. Price was comparable to other landscaping companies servicing the same area of town the only difference was this young man came out ready to work. No complaints on service time or cleanup. If you need tree removal anywhere in the metro Atlanta area call them! I will! read more

Very pleased with landscaping work done by Landscape 4 Life. Needed fence repaired, trees de-vined, tree cut and some landscape cleanup/repair. They responded quickly to request. Crew was professional, courteous and did great job. Not only was the job done on time, but price was very reasonable compared to other bids obtained. Terrible! Needed brick work on my front steps. Contractor promised to come a one time but showed up hours later to give estimate. Gave me a super low price and seemed personable over the phone ( I wasn't home when he finally arrived for estimate). He outlined what was to be done and it was exactly what I knew needed to be done. I told him that I would reluctantly work with him but reviews criticized his timelines and job completion. He assured me he would start work at 10am......he called at 1:00pm saying he had to complete another job but would be at my house soon, he tried to get money upfront the night before......glad I didn't go for it!!!!! They were nice enough, but didn't really follow through on all the things discussed and the clean-up wasn't the greatest. They also put all the yard debris in plastic bags instead of yard bags, so I had to figure out what to do with them. Good for a quick clean-out, but wouldn't recommend them for any detail oriented stuff. read more

Called L4L for an urgent job. Needed lawn service on a rehab project before picture day. Ellis (the Owner) advised he could make the deadline. Due to an unforeseen incident on L4L part, the deadline was not met and I had to reschedule the pictures. The communication was poor during the process. However, L4L did show up the day of service and completed the job. I was also given a discount for the inconvenience. The work was decent. Nothing spectacular. But, I like what Ellis is doing with the younger kids that work for him. I will give L4L another chance. read more

this man "king ellis // ellis d" is a scam! he will take your money and not complete the services paid for! i have been trying to get in contact with this joke of a man, for weeks! i had to use different numbers just for him to answer since he blocked my number! our commerical property in forest park, paid landscape 4 life $450 to do a lawn clean up, put down red mulch and tree limb removal. let me add, he quoted me $400 at first then sent an invoice to my coworker for an extra $50 dollars, yet couldn't explain to me what we were being charged for! this man lied to my face numerous times! it's even more insulting for him to say "he's a black king trying to look out for a black queen" you're a joke! nowhere close to being real hard working black man as you claim! oh and let's add his wife does most of the work, he just barks orders. and she obviously has no type of training because the work she did do looked horrible! i could've took a weed whacker and messed up my own bushes if that's what i wanted! you cut 2 bushes/hedges on the property and put down mulch in an area i told you not to! then was mad saying the work was already done! but it was your fault for 1. coming on my property without notice, after i specifically told you to call me first! 2. simply not listening to the first plan and quote we agreed on! why put mulch in the back of a building where no one goes or will see?! oh and let's add they kept their young child in a hot truck for hours! bad work ethics and bad parenting? quite a combo! i will be filing a refund with paypal since he did not complete the work. i have videos of him saying he will be back to finish and never returns! his excuses why it hasn't been completed "it was too hot" "i didn't have enough people" "i had totally forgotten why i had bags of mulch in my truck" "i'm busy right now, but i'll come later" "it was too hot and some cars were in the way" "i got tied up with other clients, i'll remember you this weekend" what type of business are you running ellis? because it looks and sounds like scam! since you wanted to do business with this black queen so bad, you'll definitely feel my wrath of trying to get over on me! read more
