I had a very frustrating experience with Texas Landscape Creations. I waited over two weeks just to get an appointment, and then another two weeks passed without receiving the estimate I was promised. I called to follow up and was told I would get a call back, but that never happened. I called again asking for the name of the existing shrubs, and was told they couldn't access the information at that time but would call me back. After a third call a few days later, I was finally given the shrub names and told I was "in the system" and should expect a follow-up. Unfortunately, I never received the estimate or any follow-up communication. It's disappointing to have someone come to your home, seem helpful in person, and then completely drop off with no follow-through. This situation also set me back on my spring landscaping plans. These guys solved a drainage problem we thought was impossible. It took placing large drains and pipes - but seems to be working with this last rain. We had a problem with our garden bed filling up and had begun to leak into our sunporch and kitchen when we had heavy rains. I had TLC fix a very small rut in my lawn. As far as getting me a quote in a timely manner, they were great. Then came the portion where they are supposed to fix it. The first time they came out, they just put down top soil, call me and said they didn't have my type of grass and they would fix it "later". Later to them was almost 2 weeks. So what they did for the "work" was just simply drop sod on top of dried out top soil. I promptly called and complained because #1) I had no idea they even remembered me, or that they came out and #2) they didn't do any work. She claimed she would have the manager call me, which he didn't, and we would talk about it. Two days later I come home to have the work kind of done. They did what they should have done the first time by leveling the sod and cutting it to fit what needed to be patched. However, they in no way prepped underneath the soil. I had big holes underneath where when you stepped on the grass, it sunk in a inch or so. Very VERY poor work. So a week or so goes by and 3 of the 4 sod "blocks" come in. the fourth is just a dead piece. I called the manager Mark, and he said "I am looking at pictures and its 70% grown in". I think he had it backwards, it was only 30% growing. He told me that they don't "guarantee the grass work". I asked if he was saying they didn't guarantee their work and he replied with a resounding "no". I called back after I cooled off and asked if I could call the sod farm to get a piece....magically when I get back from out of town, there is a new piece there. And surprise, there is a gigantic hole underneath that I had to fix. Like the others. I gave you this drawn out story, because you need to see the progression of service. It took them over a month to fix a 4 ft by 8 inch rut. At the quality of care was horrible, and they will only fix their work when you complain. Go somewhere else. read more

Not very happy with the service. They were the first to quote the job and promised it would match what we wanted. Rain delays and their busy schedule cost us a month but not their fault. The lack of experienced personnel on the job and poor planning of equipment requirements did cost them several days and expensive trips back to the shop which is 45 miles away. I intentionally marked all of the existing sprinklers but they still managed to cover up 3 of them requiring multiple trips back out to the property. It is obvious they use college kids as foremen for the summer and that the lack of experience cost the customer. After several days of return trips for fixing sprinklers, replacing grass and cleaning up edging issues they finished the job. Weeds immediately started taking over the flagstone patio. After several calls to one of the owners. He sent out his partner which told me that it was my problem and they never used weed barrier under flagstone patios. Again a knowledgeable foreman would have put down the barrier and the owner wouldn't have had to cover for him. The owner blamed the salesperson which happens to be his wife. I was not happy to hear him blame someone else and especially his spouse. That is uncool. At the end of it all to resolve the issue I was presented a quote for more grass as long as I provided the labor myself to install. These people are the experts. If I wanted something that wouldn't work I should have been told or presented alternatives. I was not and 2 other companies agreed it was a simple patio and walk way with flagstone and could be done easily in our area / climate/ etc. Over $17K on this little project so I expected a little more. read more

Paid for bubbler irrigation installation for two trees in July of 2013. In the middle of September of 2013 paid in advance for a 40 gallon red oak tree. By the end of September called company to check when the tree would be delivered and planted in the ground. Was told by office personnel that it might be somewhere towards the end of October, and possibly even thereafter. Called company back the next day and told them to either install the tree fairly soon or return my money. Was told that I would have an appointment on October 2, 2013 at 10:30am. Ocotber 2, crew shows up around 8:00am according to my neighbor and removed dead tree and installed new tree, rather roughly and quickly. I was away at a doctor's appointment and was not notified that crew would arrive early, and without my presence. I arrived home around 10:00am and they were already gone. Instantly, I noticed multiple broken branches, as well as excessive brown water spots over the entire foliage area of the tree, including curled leaves and spots of apparent insect damage/holes. I am very disappointed that they did not allow me to review the tree before planting, I would have sent this tree back to the nursery and requested another one. Contacted one of the owners at the company on October 7 and informed them that I was unhappy with the tree, was told that a representative would be by to check on everything. It is October 28, and I have not heard from them. Furthermore, I had to hire another irrigation company on October 19, 2013 to repair the bubbler on the same tree, as there was a major leak that developed soon after installation of the red oak. I do not know if the installers of the tree damaged the bubbler system, or if it was placed in the ground with poor workmanship to begin with. read more

I had a former vegetable garden plot that I needed to change. I called TLC and scheduled a site meeting with Vickie (the designer). She understood exactly what I wanted and got an estimate to me within a couple of days. She did explain that they were backed up with work and it would take a couple of months to get to my job. Sure enough, they showed up on schedule, did the work quickly, and cleaned up every time they were here. The guys were polite and worked hard in the good old Texas heat! The finished product is absolutely gorgeous! My neighbors are planning to give them a call soon, and I have a few more ideas in mind for the future. I will not hesitate to call them for the next landscape project. read more

Totally pleased with the work done and the honesty and integrity of all that I have dealt with. Unfortunately honesty and integrity are a couple of things that are not as common as they used to be. Everyone has been very friendly and very hard workers. Old school business with a new twist. French drains do the work when installed properly. TLC did a great job on a paver patio extension/grilling area for us. The workers were professional and the finished product was top notch. The price was fair and a little lower than other quotes we received.
