French Lick Springs Hotel somehow manages to feel both grand and incredibly relaxing. Everywhere you turn there's another detail worth appreciating--from the breathtaking domed atrium and historic architecture to the beautifully maintained grounds that practically beg you to take a leisurely stroll. The wraparound porch quickly became one of our favorite places. We spent a ridiculous amount of time rocking in the chairs, enjoying the gorgeous weather and taking in the peaceful views. It felt like stepping back to a time when people weren't in such a hurry. One thing I didn't expect was how convenient it was to explore the area. The complimentary shuttle was fantastic. We rode over to the casino resort, spent hours walking the grounds and exploring the restaurants, and on the way back the driver even dropped a few guests off at CVS and simply told them to call when they were ready for pickup. It's little touches like that that make you feel genuinely taken care of. Our room service breakfast was another highlight. Everything arrived hot and beautifully presented, from the biscuits and gravy to the fresh fruit oatmeal and perfectly cooked breakfast. Starting the morning with breakfast by the window overlooking those incredible grounds was hard to beat. The hotel itself has so many little spaces to discover. We wandered through the historic bathhouse, found a billiards room tucked away, admired the architecture, and never once felt rushed to get back to our room. Every hallway seemed to tell another piece of the hotel's history. And yes... The robes absolutely deserve their own paragraph. They're still some of the most comfortable hotel robes I've ever worn, and I'm standing by my original statement--you won't want to take them off. French Lick is one of those rare places where the destination and the hotel are equally memorable. We left already talking about coming back during another season just to experience it all again. West Baden has now become a regular family destination. My family -- plus my mom, stepdad, siblings…read moreand their families -- just finished our second trip here. And it's safe to say that West Baden is now a family tradition. My parents spent a few days there to celebrate their anniversary, and then the kids all came to stay the last night, during Easter weekend. And we made the most of it. We started with bowling and pizza at the new Ballard's at the Atrium (see my review on that). My older niece then watched all the kids in one of the hotel rooms, while the adults got a drink in the expansive atrium and enjoyed looking up at the picturesque dome ceiling. The next morning, which was Easter, we found a quiet sitting area on our floor to have an Easter egg hunt with all the kids. These are memories we will cherish. We popped over to French Lick for brunch, though the Easter brunch set up in the atrium definitely looked delicious too. The staff is always excellent. We were able to call and get all of our rooms next to each other, which helped. Thanks for another fabulous mini-vacation, West Baden!

It will be years before my husband and I can stay at this hotel and have a true 'date day or night' and our kids are five and three. That applies to every restaurant off property we tried in the area. Activities we tried and enjoyed 1. Kids pony ride 2. Carriage ride. 3. Mommy and kiddo pedicure (expensive for what you get but also standard pricing for hotels). 4. The free!! Trolley train ride to the sister property. Activities are easy to book over the phone ahead of the stay and easy to do at the front desk or calling from your room. Very excited about the new bowling alley building they are almost finished with next to the hotel. The stables area is very picturesque with a large covered 'patio'. Patio seems too small a word. More like covered event space. Wedding perfect. Room was clean. Beds are not very comfortable. Killed my back and my husband's. We had a two bedroom suite which was the perfect size for the four of us. It had two balconies overlooking the atrium which I will never, ever book again. Too loud! All night long too loud! Even from the sixth floor, even with earplugs. Only exterior view next time for a stay. I would return next year for all of the holiday events. My kids loved this trip because of all the new experiences they had. Lots of things to do in the area that get you outdoors. Lovely part of Indiana in the Autumn (when we visited).

It's worth the extra 300 to just stay at the west Baden. And it takes a lot for me to say that. The lady who check us in absolutely didn't want to be there. I called and asked if I could get another blanket, as there were none in the closet and was told "only if you come and get it" Which was beyond rude But okay Fair You're by yourself Then the school bus of kids came with kids running around the halls beating on doors I called 4 times before anything was done. Then some sort of reunion started in the lobby (all after "quiet time" 10 pm with loud men laughing and carrying on. It wouldn't be a problem if they moved to a room or a conference room Went to the desk, since I got no answer on the 5th phone call in 2 hours And she never came to the front. And we weren't asked how our stay was when we checks out. I hope they are able to work on staff in the future.

They had a large tv, fridge, microwave, coffee Keurig with 4 coffees and even sugar/cream, separate shower area so both could get ready. Breakfast buffet was delicious!! They had oatmeal with lots of topping options, silk milk/regular milk, 4 different juices, 9 different coffee choices, eggs, bacon pancakes and do yourself waffle maker. The potatoes needed to be more krispy in my opinion but they were well seasoned.They even had fresh fruit topping available and peanut butter!!! Highly recommended!!

The house, over Labor Day weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday night), cost us $440 (total) for 5 people. The house has two bedrooms and bathrooms, a nice, fully equipped kitchen and a patio/deck with a gas grill. There is a washer and dryer in the first-floor bathroom. Our third person stayed on the hideaway bed, but we also found a nice twin mattress set upstairs. The house was clean, cozy and really nice! We were within walking distance of everything in town. There was only one potential snag in the whole experience....our GPS's had us all turned around (we were on 5 motorcycles), so we ended up asking some police officers that were parked at the gas station where the house was. We would never have found it, had we not gotten an escort from the nice police officer! He knew the house and said, "Follow me--it's tricky." The street sign had two names on it, with the one we needed to see, all covered up by tree branches. Note to the lovely Vesta: Please warn people of this, because it would be nearly impossible to find in the dark. Be sure to bring TP, paper towels, a sponge and dish soap. We'll stay there again. It was a wonderful house and a great deal!

The pool and hot tub were supposed to be heated but appears to have been broke for a while so both were super cold which was very disappointing as it was part of the reason we picked the hotel. Distance to town was very convenient. Very close to everything. Lots of parking too. This is a decent choice if you plan on going to the Polar Express for the weekend.

The lovely women who checked us in on the evening of 4/17/26, said - we have you on the second floor and there are a lot of young kids, so I'm going to move you to the third floor. So kind and thoughtful! The room was clean, per my sister the shower was great, and the breakfast was great. The woman who was managing the breakfast gave my sister a few ideas for stops along the way as we headed back home. Very much appreciated!

Within driving distance, you'll have several popular destinations, including Big Splash Adventure water park (5 minutes), Paoli Peaks ski resort (15 minutes), Patoka Lake (15 min.), Wilstem Ranch elephant and giraffe farm (10 minutes), Marengo Cave (35 minutes), and Holiday World & Splashin' Safari (1 hour). The house was built in the early 20th century, this impressive all-brick home has been a French Lick landmark for decades. Located directly across the street from the French Lick Resort and Casino, this 2000 square foot home was recently renovated. Featuring a full bathroom and three bedrooms on the second floor -- a king master bedroom, a second bedroom with two queen beds, and a third bedroom with two twin beds -- this 2-story home can easily sleep eight guests. The first floor features an entry lounge (with a 50" HDTV), a sitting room, a formal dining room, a full kitchen, and a half bathroom. Also included is a washer and dryer and a car port. Rates are very reasonable! A group of up to eight can spread out and enjoy the privacy of this spacious historic home for less than the price of one room across the street at the resort. We enjoyed our space and amenities for our family and some extended... it was beautiful for each of us! SO Comfortable! HIGHLY recommend!

The resort really needs updates to the rooms. Keys are not digital old school metal with 25.00 fee…read moreif you lose one as well. The check-in office is not really inviting or vibrant. The staff are friendly and are welcoming, but it is so dark that the colors of walls etc needs a update. The unit we had was 97A, 97B so we had both upper and lower units. Let's start the lower unit 97A it had a large TV in the main area and no TV in the bedroom. The cabinets were from the 70's and need to be refinished or replaced from the kitchen to the bathrooms and even the drawers that hold things. The bar stools are fabric and are stained and look disgusting they need to replace them with bar stools that match the table in that unit in 97A. Modern chairs. Couches were up to date pain for needs to be done and done properly. It looks like they have just painted over old paint and stuff never really sanded and replaced anything was issues. Also, the bathroom toilets are so low and small that it's like toddler toliets in church schools not ok for adults of any height or size. The shower needs work, and remodeling it is gross, and the drain is completely hard water and lime rusted and crusted super nasty if you actually wanted to use that half Jacuzzi tub. 97B the upper unit that dinner table is out dated and the chairs match the downstairs bar stools so at some point the replaced things half way and mixed matched stuff that is pretty bad also both stoves are old and outdated but the fridges were ok on both levels dishes were ok but again lots of mixed matched stuff and each floor had one shot glass per unit that I found funny. The upstairs door or glass has dew or water damage in-between the panels probably from the Jacuzzi upstairs that can seat 2 or 3 grown people however the hot water runs out a quarter way filling the tub and takes so long to heat back up the water level will drain it self before it can actually be filled properly. Design flaw or need better water heater for the unit to actually use the Jacuzzis either one. Same thing for up stairs cabinets needs updates lighting seems dark either bright white bulbs or med white bulbs would help make the place look more vibrant they Yellow bulbs with paint color make it seem dark and ugly once the sun sets just depressing. You can easily take a few of these recommendations even if just updating the stained yellow lamp shades on the lamps and changing the yellow bulbs to fresh lamp top shades and led bright white bulbs would make the place so much better. Right now, you have a few bright white led bulbs and mix matched yellow bulbs. Not only does it not match, but it shows you could give it potential with such minimal changes. I'm still on-site bit don't want to be bothered this is my shared opinion and none of these things can be fixed overnight or while I'm here I want to enjoy my time unbothered so no point in bothering the front desk and the binders that are passed out could be updated to smaller information with those binder part showing restaurants and area attractions etc that should be kept in the room on the table in a separate book that stays there showing all the things to do. Not lugged around forced to check in and drop off when you leave just leave a book version in the rooms with all that second half of the binder and cut the stuff someone has to carry around down. So that is my experience it's quiet people were friendly, but the Villas them selves I'm sure charge their owners for upgrades, and they need to actually do so. Upgrade the investments, people! More will actually want to come.
