We got a double queen bed room and the room was decent. Oddly enough, there are not many light switches and you have to turn everything on at the light source. We found some boxers tucked behind the couch which means the room hasn't been cleaned thoroughly. No working fan in the bathroom. Otherwise the room was fine. Pretty standard. The pool and hot tub were supposed to be heated but appears to have been broke for a while so both were super cold which was very disappointing as it was part of the reason we picked the hotel. Distance to town was very convenient. Very close to everything. Lots of parking too. This is a decent choice if you plan on going to the Polar Express for the weekend. read more

Stayed for one night with my sister and 80+ year old mother while doing a little road trip. While checking in I was asked if we were part of the baseball group. I said no. The lovely women who checked us in on the evening of 4/17/26, said - we have you on the second floor and there are a lot of young kids, so I'm going to move you to the third floor. So kind and thoughtful! The room was clean, per my sister the shower was great, and the breakfast was great. The woman who was managing the breakfast gave my sister a few ideas for stops along the way as we headed back home. Very much appreciated! read more

My family and I had 3 rooms reserved for this Comfort Suites after riding the Polar Express on the French Lick Scenic Railway the day after Thanksgiving. I reserved the rooms about 10 months ago not knowing what to expect. I simply have trusted the Choice Hotel brand. I'm rarely disappointed!! The beds were comfy with plenty of pillows and adequate covers. The room was clean and smelled fresh, but I believe they may have recently remodeled. Some of the reviews were pretty awful especially concerning the breakfast they offer complimentary. Except for during the Covid timeframe, Choice has been pretty consistent. The breakfast offered at this stay was no different from other stays at Choice. The fruit was fresh, the eggs, sausage and sausage links were tasty. Of course there were plenty of waffle irons. Several bread choices were available, biscuits, bagels, bread for toast, and muffins. They had yogurt, juices, coffee, jellies, milk and water. This was on a weekend, so it's possible it could be different. read more

We recently did an overnight trip to French Lick to see holiday decorations and visit the casino. We usually stay at the French Lick resort but over the past year or so the rates have gone up so much that we decided to stay nearby at the Comfort Suites. Week night rates are quite reasonable and the rooms have been recently renovated. The are spacious and quite nice. When we checked in the front desk attendant was super friendly and nice. She was helpful in giving suggestions of things to do and see in the area. They provide a complimentary breakfast buffet but I think I'd skip that on my next visit but would definitely stay there again. read more

First and foremost this review would have been five stars if we had skipped the breakfast. Melanie at the desk was one of the most personable and sweet desk hostess we have ever experienced. She took the time to explain the amenities available to us and explained the renovations going on. She also took the time to provide information regarding a local dinner theater which was new to the area and other interesting information. Our room had just been renovated and was spotless and so so comfy. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom very clean and well supplied. The issue which MUST BE ADDRESSED is the breakfast. Please either decide to not offer the breakfast or decide to maintain it so it isn't an embarrassment to the COMFORT INN brand. The juice pitchers were being swarmed by gnats to the point of being a health hazard. The hot food was adequately supplied and warm. However, no yogurt and the fruit remaining was spoiled. Parts of the hotel need repair, not up to the usual Comfort Suites quality. The side door lock was cut out, so you could come and go without a hotel key. The pool room did not lock either. The hot tub had some repairs to the concrete that were not smooth and the jets did not work. There are some tiles missing under a window in the pool room. The bathroom in the pool area is being remodeled and currently not useable. Our hotel room was nice, there was a small couch in our room, microwave and mini fridge. The door to our room had to be forcefully closed, it did not close on its own, the toilet ran occasionally and could use some CLR. The breakfast was good. Staff were attentive to making sure there was food and juice. There were waffle irons with two flavors of waffles, eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, toast, muffins, cereal, milk and yogurt. Ok, listen. This place isn't a complete dump, but it definitely isn't the best either. Our room was not clean upon arrive. We found dead bugs. Our comforter was wrinkled with hair all over it. The toilet was rusty...definitely not pristine. That being said, the staff was kind when we expressed our concerns, which is why I gave them a third star. Did not enjoy our stay. Hotel was not very clean. Mold in the windowsill. Outdated. Thin walls. Hair all over everything (not ours) worn out mattresses and sheets. The chair looked like it had been chewed apart. Temperature was controlled by a wall unit and it was either too hot or cold. The fridge was so loud we had to turn it off. We got sheets to add to the pull out couch and they were wet. Also the bathroom is poorly lit so if you need light for getting ready bring a lamp. read more

The hot water heater in our room did not work and we complained about it several times. The staff kept saying we would get a 10% credit and we STILL have not received an updated folio. I had made reservations for the weekend at this hotel/location as I was planning to do some sight seeing/activities in the area with my family. When booking our room I read this hotel has a heated indoor pool as well as a spa/hot tub. When we got to the hotel and decided to go swimming in the "heated" indoor pool, I noticed it was cold and had ZERO water movement. I noticed the pool had a stagnant water look/feel to it upon exiting. I then thought I'd warm up in the hot tub. Upon putting my leg in, I realized the "hot tub" was room temp and the jets were not functioning (which meant again, no water movement. Upon speaking to numerous front desk personnel about the amenities not working properly, I received the General Manager's email. I emailed the GM and threatened to cancel my second night to which he discounted $100 off the total bill. Also, the toilet in our room was not working properly and either would run constantly OR clog completely up to which the front desk employee asked my wife (who alerted the employee of the problem) if she would like a plunger. He did not apologize nor even suggest having room service personnel or maintenance to look at it/fix it. Over all - our experience at this hotel was a let down and disappointing. Let's begin by saying the individual on the phone I spoke with required my HOME address after I divulged I had kids..never had anyone need a home address for a hotel reservation-EVER so I go to a very dark place immediately thinking human trafficking since I mentioned kiddos. Anyway we get to the hotel (after I gave them a bogus home address which appeased the online agent) and the price they had quoted me ($179 - also not the price advertised-$151) but I gave in as it was only a bit extra. When I went to check in they said, "that'll be $195"! I literally didn't need a hotel I am 2 hours from my house but I was doing this for fun...they accommodated me on that and gave me the originally quoted price. We settle in, room was alright - we decided to swim- slime film on the interior was GROSS and made my skin feel STICKY, dead spider the size of a half dollar floating in the pool along with what I can only assume was a used condom that has been left for a LONG time. Not only that but once we got back to our room the AC didn't work and there was a GIANT (I'm talkin atleast 1.5 inches) bug on the ceiling- I called the front desk and they moved our rooms but by this point it's 9 and my kids need sleep- oh yeah and the room they moved us into didn't have a working refrigerator & the AC didn't get above 74 all night so the expensive Ohana food now will perish- also ohana has great food but the older staff stares at you the ENTIRE meal. I would like to add, next morning the coffee was horrible & the "free breakfast" was a bran muffin in a bag. 10/10 would literally camp in a tent in the middle of mosquito season than stay in another comfort suite. read more

The television/cable system did not work properly. Every time that the television was off and was restarted, the "Dish" cable box needed to be reset and all of the channels downloaded, etcetera. It was very frustrating. I needed to get the help of the manager to get to the channels the first time. After coming to see him at the front desk 3 times for direction as I could not make it work, he sort of unhappily left his post to come to the room and left with the attitude that it worked "just fine"--but I definitely disagree. He said the TV was "not turned on" but that is not true as it plainly said "no signal" on the screen! For $143/nite, I don't find the issue acceptable (especially, since it was a "known issue"--see below!) Other than that the room was fine. Edit, 6/19/2022: I copied and pasted from the note that the the Comfort Suites representative wrote me in reply to my feedback: "We are in the process of replacing the TVs along with the other upgrades we are making." So, every night someone new gets to deal with that TV-issue... Ha! I really had assumed that Comfort Suites was a class act. At the very least they could inform people about the issue at check-in! To my mind, their current SOP borders on fraud. I've stayed at several other Comfort Suite hotels without any issues at all, but now the thought of their brand leaves me feeling negative. In particular, the next time I'm in French Lick I intend to try the Best Western Hotel. If I had recieved their feedback earlier, I would have given a 1-star rating instead of a 2-star rating based upon learning their "attitude", but I'll leave it the way it is... Looking at my last review 12/2019, I can see some of the changes since my last review. We are glad to see that finally the lock on the door near the pool has been finally fixed. We have stayed 4 more times here since my last review on that door lock had been broken everytime. What stood out first on this visit was that a masks required sign on the front doors but yet tge female clerk that checked us in on 3/18 was not wearing a mask. The male clerk the next morning wasn't wearing a mask either when we checked out. Overall, the staff was very friendly. Our room was clean & fully stocked. The hotel smelled like it was spraying with some industrial sanitation spray. It was overpowering to the point where we usually can smell the chlorine from the pool in the stairwell but all we smelled was the sanitation spray. Was a little disappointed that the bed only had a 5 inch space between it & the air unit. My wife had to turn sideways just to get in & out of bed. Better water pressure in this shower than the room we stayed in the last few times. read more

There was a mixup with our reservation when we arrived, but Albert at the front desk had excellent customer service and got us fixed up! He was friendly and chipper every time we saw him. Our long weekend in French Lick was so special and wonderful. We stayed 4 days at the Comfort Suites and it was perfect! The entire staff was welcoming and accommodating. Especially the housekeeper, Rebecca, she always checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. She always has a smile on her face. The room was immaculate and luxurious. This property was pretty busy when we checked in, but it went pretty smoothly. Our room was nice and clean. Our issues were with housekeeping and the pool. Our first morning here, housekeeping left no clean towels (even left dirty ones that we left on the floor for them) and no replacements for shampoo/conditioner. My husband went to the counter for towels at 5:00 pm and they had none clean. We waited to take showers after being in the pool for over an hour when we had to call again. No towels. We ended up going to CVS to buy shampoo. The pool was an entire other issue. It was disgusting. Hair floating everywhere. It literally made me gag. I know for a fact that the pool wasn't skimmed the night before because the same chunks of black hair were floating. The amount of kids jumping off the side of the pool is what made us leave. There is a sign posted that says, "no diving or jumping". There is no one in there to enforce that rule. Pros were the breakfast, spacious rooms and that this hotel isn't in the busy part of town. Several things about this hotel were very disappointing. The pool and hot tub did not work! I spoke to a guest who was staying there during the course of the week and she told me neither have been working all week, yet no signs were posted and staff acted as if they didn't know. The pool area itself was dirty and messy , only indicating that no one from the staff has been in there. The locks on the doors are also broken. I have heard the pool problem had been going on for months. Maybe the GM that only visits 2 times a week needs fired! Fix the dang problem! Stop RIGGING IT! Our toilet was clogging in our room. The (main) hotel bathroom was dirty and the toilet had crap all over the bowl. The men's bathroom door doesn't lock. No housekeeping ever came to our room! I had to ask for towels, toilet paper, etc. Air conditioner was very loud and our room always seems warm. As a smoker I was surprised that the no smoking policy was not more enforced. Smokers are right outside the door...the ashtray cans were full to the brim and cigarette butts are everywhere. $100.00 off our bill is truly not enough! Ask questions before booking here! read more

Hotel is nice for the price. Love that it's 100% smoke free. It still smells new! The room size is nice.. Liked having the living room/bedroom feel. Breakfast was better than expected (farm fresh/cage free eggs that are actually cooked well and not a yellow colored runny sponge type thing!), crispy bacon and all the other options the first morning. The second morning- same eggs, and sausage in place of bacon. The hotel is easy to get to. It's in between Hagen's and french lick. Although comfort suites doesn't offer a shuttle, the french lick shuttle will come pick you up/drop you off 24 hours a day, at no charge.
