Tonight, when I was laying in bed, I once again thought of our stay here and my memory of it makes me want to go back and stay again over and over again. I had to search through my photos on my phone to remember the name of this place but I finally found it!...So many great things to say-From the couple that owns it and their hospitality, to all of the charm, authenticity, and character that this old home has to offer, to the amazing breakfast provided by the owner who used to be a chef! I still drool thinking about the eggs Benedict that she made me. Absolutely THEE BEST eggs Benedict I have ever eaten. None has compared since having hers. I would go back just to eat them and her hollandaise sauce. The rooms, too were just amazing. Clean, decorated so nicely and everything was renovated. They make sure you have everything you need as well. Just simply an amazing stay. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the owners. They're so kind, personable, and detail oriented. Regina and Fred own the inn. The are unbelievable cordial, caring and accommodating. Our room was so comfortable and we slept so well Regina is a trained chef and had gourmet breakfasts every day. She checked to make sure our tastes were met and each breakfast was so yummy. Great coffee. Cookies in our room The inn itself is an old home that has been done so nicely. Our room had a new bathroom and shower. We had everything we needed to relax. The grounds are prestigious. I would have stayed there but at $269 or $419 a night or whatever it was running, hmm, no thanks. So I found Big Locust where the rooms are more a modest $75-95 a night. The $95 a night room, The Locust Room is what we chose. It was so nice because basically we had the whole upstairs to ourselves. It was very private. The hosts were very patient and understanding and easy to work with. I would say this is more of a no frills down to earth place, but very comfortable. French Lick was a bit of a drive, but not bad. Also, downtown Paoli was nice to have nearby. Do be prepared that this is out in the middle of nowhere. Our phones didn't get signal, and there was no WIFI to be had except at the resorts. However, that made more relaxation. Also, there was always the resort nearby for what remnant of a night life French Lick has or a Starbucks or visiting the winery.

The location across from the Overlook Restaurant at the historic and scenic Oxbow Bend of the Ohio river and proximity to I-64 make it a perfect location.

The house, over Labor Day weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday night), cost us $440 (total) for 5 people. The house has two bedrooms and bathrooms, a nice, fully equipped kitchen and a patio/deck with a gas grill. There is a washer and dryer in the first-floor bathroom. Our third person stayed on the hideaway bed, but we also found a nice twin mattress set upstairs. The house was clean, cozy and really nice! We were within walking distance of everything in town. There was only one potential snag in the whole experience....our GPS's had us all turned around (we were on 5 motorcycles), so we ended up asking some police officers that were parked at the gas station where the house was. We would never have found it, had we not gotten an escort from the nice police officer! He knew the house and said, "Follow me--it's tricky." The street sign had two names on it, with the one we needed to see, all covered up by tree branches. Note to the lovely Vesta: Please warn people of this, because it would be nearly impossible to find in the dark. Be sure to bring TP, paper towels, a sponge and dish soap. We'll stay there again. We booked it for both a corporate event for our California business and also a personal party in 2015 to entertain friends within a one hour flight from Chicago. I was referred to it by a guy in New York who was looking for a place to entertain two sets of clients, one in in Lexington and one in Louisville, at a central location around the Oaks and to do the Bourbon trail one day. It is a midpoint location part way between. They have a unique high ceiling apartment rental next door that I think you can rent in conjunction with the event space. The unit is huge. I stayed one day while I was siting my party weekend. That makes for a great place for the wedding party say or to entertain the most important clients at your event. Both the space and the loft are very unique and have a much younger/modern vibe compared to the traditional decor and architecture for this town. There is a good Mexican restaurant next door. I really liked the open layout, you could decorate it however you liked if you wanted to do a theme, but it also looks great with the minimalist shop lights and functional sliding warehouse-style door. I don't want to quote prices because it probably depends but I was surprised how reasonable it was, talk to them yourself... The primary drawbacks as I see it is there is nothing else to rent like this within 20 miles, so I probably will have to rent it several years in advance and I tend to have a hard time planning work events too far in advance so it may be booked before my 16 and 17 event is planned. I talked to Kevin, who was very informative and down to earth. I met with an owner there also who happened to be dropping by to weigh in on some details. He is a broker in this town and said he did this as a creative outlet (enjoys rehabbing historic properties) and to increase the demand for permanent housing nearby as he is an investor, so that is how he can justify to rent it out at what I calc'd to be below-market rates for this type of space. If you like modern style, high ceilings and flexible space with a nod to the past and walkability to nearby goods and services(huge factor for us) is a big consideration for you, this is your thing. Check it out for yourself ... I think you will agree with what I am saying though- the place is sharp and this town had needed something like it for a long time. Look forward to many events here.

To the owners- you may want to paint the back door a funky bright color for parkers that park behind the venue to find the right entrance!! And painting the front door the same! We were a bit confused of where to get in... But that seems to be an easy fix!
