Truly, I think it's because the job done was sub-par and on purpose to get my vulnerable and naive self back into their shop. I have spent $3000+ here and will never get it back unless I get a lawyer which I'm highly considering. When I got my fuel injectors done, I immediately had a problem with the engine starting. I took it in for diagnostics and they charged me 160 dollars for them to just look at it. Nothing seemed wrong to their technicians and I was told that it was fine and would level itself out. It did not. I went back again and they said that I needed a small part that I could replace myself easily. I did and still the problem didn't go away. Dave asked me why I hadn't come back and the reason is because he has led me on and bled me dry every time I just had someone look at it. I really thought that Dave was a nice guy and I trusted him but once I had spent $300+ on diagnostics alone, my faith was shaken. Today, my engine didn't start. I called Dave and he basically said that he didn't want to work with me anymore and GOOD LUCK. I was angry on the phone and I guess they say being nice goes a long way, so this was definitely my bad. I am very disappointed in Dave and the scam he runs as a business and I hope he doesn't do this to his daughter. The calls are recorded and I am talking to a lawyer because the other shop I went to charged me nothing. For such a "good" reputation, B+L auto seems to be a sham and I do not suggest you going in to this shop ever unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket and you want to feed the dollar signs in Dave's eyes. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU RESPECT YOUR MONEY OR TIME.

I got it back and it still leaked oil and then after a couple months of driving it broke down due to a carburetor issue and when I called him to get it looked at he didn't do much to help other than saying if I could get it there he would look at it, but I had moved to Billings and that wasn't really an option. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal if he didn't already charge me double from his original quote and taken 4 times as long. And then when I took it in to a local shop they told me there was some issues with his wiring to the carb engine components. I had a horrible experience with this shop and am still paying on the loan I had to get for the repair even after selling the truck for $10,000. He might be good for some things like an oil change maybe, but not classic engine swaps!

I brought my car in to get a wheel bearing replaced which I was intending on doing myself due to it not being an incredibly difficult task. Sadly I was rather busy and figured it would be easier to just bring it in. Kirk's communication was less than ideal. I spoke with Kirk on the phone 5 times. Every time I called. This was slightly annoying but acceptable. The true tragedy of my visit to Avalanche Auto was when the car was finally finished Kirk charged me 25% more than I was originally quoted. This was an upsetting surprise. I payed what was asked even though almost 600$ is absurd to replace a wheel bearing. Kirk is the owner of his shop and that is admirable I would hate for him to loose business. This being said I believe there are much better local shops in the Bozeman area. If you use Avalanche Auto I recommend talking to Kirk in person if you would like to be treated like a person.
