The meat is affordable, the work area is extremely clean and they such a great variety of fresh meat. It feels like you're rewinding 30 years and going back to an old school deli. I have tried the hamburger mixed with bacon and cheddar, the cheddar brats and the ham salad. Whoa that ham salad it's not your cheap typical processed ham salad. From the freezer case I have also purchased the prepared lasagna they make in small individual servings that you can just pop in the oven yourself and it was great. There's such a cool variety of breaded mushrooms, hot wings and stuffed chicken breasts in the frozen section and things that you could take home for special occasions, parties or just when you want some special items that you typically won't find in a "normal" grocery store in bulk quantity. They also have freezer packs for set pricing where you can go in and buy a certain number of steaks, pork chops, pounds of fresh sausage or pounds of hamburger altogether in a package brown sack that you can just take home and stick in your freezer. It is always super clean in the shop and everyone is really helpful. A tip is to come through the week when they are not as busy but still they are quick on the weekends to get to you even though it may be several people deep.

The reason I started with that is because…read morejust this past Tuesday I cooked my last of 2 roast, that I bought along with a tenderloin filet, a pound of boneless chicken breast and 4 pounds of ground beef. It had been some time since I finished off the last of the ground beef. I buried my last roast in my freezer under other frozen items and forgot about it. A week ago I had to purge much of the foods in my freezer and rediscovered the roast. So I decided I should cook it. When I opened the wrap containing my roast, I was delightfully surprised! Not only was it not showing any signs of discoloration, rotting smell or freezer burn, it was blood red as if I had just purchased it. I cooked it low and slow in my oven and after five hours I added the vegetable. It was amazing and delicious. It was just a 2 pounds of chuck roast. I ate it 4 days in a row finishing it off. Honestly, I wished there was more. The purpose of my share is; not only are the butchers friendly, swift and kind. The meat, every bit was absolutely pure, no processing, no Mc Donald type slurry added, no fillers, just REAL, GOOD, QUALITY MEAT. Worth every penny. It's easy to see why the comments and ratings, before mine are mostly five stars (you can literally see the 5 stars busting at the seams) and raving about the service, the quality and freshness. Just like meat was as I was growing up and the way all meat should be. If you're new, or reviewing Banters before shopping them. I highly recommend their shop. Go in and buy one item and see for yourself. You'll be glad you did. We all deserve meat that is healthy, delicious and nutritious, like what we grew up eating. So... "what are you waiting for"? I love these locally owned, family businesses. Troyer's has been operating since 1912! We stopped in for a deli sandwich. A small line was waiting for orders as clerks worked non stop. I ordered a chicken sandwich with cheese and mayo. The portions of meat are generous. The bread is melt-in-your-mouth fresh made. The sandwich was delicious. I also picked up a fresh made blackberry pie. These pies are beautiful and made from all natural ingredients. They have a great assortment of cheese, so I picked up jalapeño cheese. The aisles are filled with basics that you can't find anywhere else. They sell their own bologna! The fry cakes were all gone. I did find canning supplies, locally- grown melons, and bulk candies.
