I need to let EVERYONE know that this company is awful, dishonest, crooked, and have no idea what they are doing! Tyler was the guy that came to "repair" our air conditioning unit. He did nothing & charged us thousands of dollars with him to only come and "fix" the issues on our units. We had to call Papa's plumbing to come and send their technicians to see what is going on with our units. They found out that nothing was done! No filter change, no fixing the units and on top of this.... led is to have a leak from one unit unto our kitchen! I will be reporting this to BBC as well so that this crooked company is well known for their shady, thieving ways. I feel it is my duty to warn the residents of Langley and elsewhere of the unfair and I believe, unethical, business dealings we have experienced with this company! We had Lewis MacLean Plumbing come out to fix a clogged kitchen drain. They charged us $505.00 for the hour they were here which we thought was very exorbitant. We paid it. They did NOT fix the problem and the water started backing up into the sink again! When I called, I was told there were no guarantees and it would cost another $505 to have someone come out to have a look at it again! This is very poor customer service. We are out a whopping $505 dollars and the problem has NOT been fixed!! I have registered a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and while writing up my complaint, found several other complaints from people who had had the misfortune of dealing with Lewis MacLean Plumbing too. I intend to post my experience on Facebook within the various communities I belong to such as Murrayville, Brookswood and elsewhere and also will be forwarding a letter to the Editor of our local newspapers! I would put this at 0 stars if I could FML.... so an a/c guy comes over today and while he is testing my a/c he tries to short it out to get it to run... this causes a big spark and everything stops working. he says he thinks he blew a fuse in the furnace so he goes into my crawl space to change it. he was sitting in his truck about to leave and my furnace is making funny sounds so I go and grab him.... he goes back downstairs and he said some wire had fallen... blah blah blah all fixed now..... not even 1 minute after he drives away the furnace does it again.... i call the company and they say he will come back after his next call..... he comes back and goes downstairs and comes out and says your wireless thermostat is hooped..... guess what the fuse is for that blew? so I said well i have to ask, did you do that when you shorted my a/c.... and he says thats not supposed to happen because thats what fuses are for... i say well it was working 5 minutes before you started working on my a/c.... he says wasnt me and leaves...... what the heck? read more

I couldn't believe I got sucked in by this company. It was the coldest weeks we had this fall season. Down to -3 C at night. For us it was cold and we had no heat. We called the furnace people who installed our Lennox furnace but he was really busy and could come for over 2 weeks. I couldn't believe how busy they were. Anyway we called Langley plumbing and heating and was quoted 128.00 and they would do a diagnose and do a repair quote for my furnace. Well the guy comes out and looks the furnace over. Takes my furnace make and model down checks out a couple of things and tells us it's going to be more than the 128.00 it now going to be 320+ to tell us what is wrong with our furnace. Then makes us pay right then and there. This were we went wrong. I mentioned that we were quoted 128. to give a diagnoses. But he said no if we want to know what's wrong with the furnace it was going to 320.00. What do you do. Should have could have asked him to leave with nothing. But... we need this fixed, so be it. The nights are too cold for our little heaters. 5 min. later he did go outside again to check what we had told him when he first came that there was a gas smell coming from the furnace pipe that goes outside. Then goes down to the furnace and calls someone and they tell him it is the heat ex-changer. My husband was with him. He come up and says it's your heat ex-changer and your furnace can't be fixed. He said "I'll email you a receipt and give you my quotes". I new he thought it was the heat ex-changer before charged the 320.00 but what do you do. He charge us over double for a phone call to his friend.. OK so now we know the furnace is toast and if we want heat this winter we have to get a furnace. OK To make a long story short Lennox had a lifetime warranty the part and for a furnace that couldn't be fixed is now costing us only 1200.00 for Labour. Far cry from Langley Plumbing & Heating's quote of 9000.00 . Even if we had to buy the part it is still a far cry from 9000.00. What goes around comes around Langley Plumbing & Heating!! i had a expansion valve start leaking again after 6 months so I thought lets try these guys. The previous company charged $143.50 for the job and Lewis MacLean wanted over $500, so obviously I refused their service but I still got charged $101 for the call out. Not once was I informed that there is a call out charge. I would recommend that you call someone else for your plumbing needs and save yourself some money. read more

Called in to get a service call and found an aggressive technician at the door demanding 200 dollars from an 80 year old man with no hello or what's the issue just pay me and I will look at it maybe,at this point we just asked him to leave as the outcome would have been oh not sure call back on Monday for 200 dollars.The dispatch was rude and terrible customer service and all around this was a terrible experience dealing with this company. read more

They sent a plumber with a van not equipped with supplies.The plumber didn't even a sterile H20 sample container. I had to supply one. They quoted me $800.00 for a showerhead hose. Before leaving, the plumber demanded payment. He was only able to complete 1 task of 5. I spoke with 4 different staff members & got the run around & few of my questions answered or anything rectified. When I was finally able to speak with the owner George, 2 weeks later I asked for my $$ refunded for the "lewis advantage membership " He told me NO & hung up on me. read more

I had a very bad experience with Rod. He was hired to go to my condo in Langley City and fix a tub faucet. He spent over two hours plus a service call charge and did not fix the problem. The charge was $382.20 and he did not fix the problem. I spoke with him about his charges and he said that he could not reduce his charge as he could have been working at another job. He claimed that the faucet was a 'no name' product and could not identify the manufacturer so could not order parts. I went and examined the faucet and found the manufacturer name as a Danze product. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a part for free. I have now installed the part myself. Beware that his charge out rate is $130.00 per hour plus a $169.00 service call. read more

Lewis Mechanical (Ted's Plumbing, Ring the Plumber, etc) is awesome! They will come out right away, fix the issue and always give me a fair, up front price. Our plumbers have been exceptionally respectful of our property and time. Clean up after themselves and make a point of letting me know of any potential future maintenance chores I should be aware of. This is a very trustworthy business for people who want it done right, by highly trained, certified plumbers. read more

I recently had a problem with my hot water tank and the plumber, Rod, was there within the hour. His service was excellent and he sure knew his stuff! He answered all of my questions and his price was great too. Can't say enough good things. He is now my regular plumber. read more

Don't trust Lewis and whatever you do, don't get a Lewis membership. All I can say. You don't get treated like 'family' that's for sure. I put my trust into the Lewis company based on what I thought was a successful experience a year earlier. They failed miserably to live up to even the lowest of expectations second time around this year. A simple fireplace issue took 6 visits - six separate days of waiting on them. Every visit supposedly fixed. The tech created a gas leak which put my family at risk on the 5th visit. 6th visit the 'owner' guarantees a solution - gives his word that all labour and parts will be covered to finally fix the problem. Shows up with his tech that he swears by at my home and they show up without the part. Wow. Add to this the owner leaves and gets the tech to write up a bill of $500 if I want it fixed because they would have to get the part from a supplier outside their own circle because of their own incompetence. I can understand a miscommunication or a mix up but to represent your company and lie to a customer face to face - I asked them to leave. I called another company that strictly deals with gas fireplaces, first as a 2nd opinion which cost nothing and they did a lot of research over the phone with me. Customer service is a rare thing nowadays. Getting someone to give you customer service when there isn't even a guarantee of work is going above and beyond. After Lewis failed miserably on the 6th attempt - I gave this other company a try. Their tech calls me - tells me exactly when he will arrive on the day I wanted and actually showed up on time. Even calling ahead to make sure I was on schedule as well. He shows up, has a thing called personality as soon as he walks into my home. Simple respect goes a long ways. In 30 minutes, he shows me the $10 piece that was causing the problem. It took him all of 10 minutes to fix the problem and while he had the fireplace opened up, he cleaned EVERYTHING, and made the fireplace look like new. Vacuumed up after himself and left the place spotless. As well, he took the time to explain to both the wife and I and didn't talk down like Lewis techs will do to you. As they say, talk is cheap if you can't back up what you think you can do. It was night and day between when the Lewis tech showed up compared to when this other company's tech showed up. Sometimes you are scared to switch because you end up believing they must all be ignorant and disrespectful - but this lesson has taught me once again, there are still people out there that still respect what they do, take pride in their work, and actually know what they are doing. I'll do them justice by creating another Yelp review and give them high reviews. This review is strictly to warn anyone out there I wouldn't be trusting Lewis Mechanical for any work to be done. I gave them MANY opportunities to correct their mistakes through their service and to see if they could show any sort of customer respect - not only did the tech fail miserably, but worst of all, the actual owner of the company. Hope this reaches anyone before they end up letting this company into their house. I am now trying to find out how you can get a company's tech investigated as to whether they truly have their ticket or not. Lewis did a lot of talking about how they train their techs in house and that was a bit of a concern to me after the episode of having a gas leak from one of their techs work. "Scammers, Incompetent or Frauds? "We had Lewis and MacLean Mechanical come over to service the furnace on a rental home we own as it hadn't been done in a while. The house is about 10 years old. They sent a technician over and after his inspection he basically said the furnace is condemned and needs to be replaced. His reasoning was that it was spewing carbon dioxide at dangerous levels in to the home. He disconnected some wiring and removed a hidden fuse from the furnace to ensure we had no heat in the house ( this is in February) and our tenants were not impressed and wanting us to resolve the problem quickly. We asked how much to have a new furnace installed and the quote was "somewhere around $6,000.00! After that we engaged another local company to have a look at our furnace and after spending 2 hours trying to figure out what was removed and which wires were disconnected he got the furnace running again. He had the proper co2 meter to check emissions and let us know that our furnace was running just fine. All that was required was to replace the parts removed by the Lewis MacLean people and a new filter. His total bill to replace the missing fuse, connect wires, adjust and out new filters was $200.00 and we now have happy tenants." read more

Their "straight forward" pricing structure is a fixed-based rate. First, they entice you with a low initial fee of $179 (just for the visit itself) during weekends, while others charge above $300 per the first hour. However, they will disclose you with their outrageous rates only when arrive, intimidating you that the job at hand may take over 3 hours... eventually the job was completed in 30 minutes, and they had no shame to charge $686.00 for a simple clog, and a total of $980 for their visit. They didn't even want to discuss what is fair and reasonable. I took the time to post this review mostly because of their unwillingness to even discuss this. We have experienced a terrible customer service and arrogance. By all means, stay away, and do wait for the morning if possible, and opt for hourly-based professional.
