A local gem. Their specialty is shave ice. It is similar to water ice, but lighter, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, your choice of flavor, topped with condensed milk. There are lots of flavors to choose from. They also offer açaí bowls and smoothies. This small place is 100% solar powered and uses only compostable utensils and bowls. They are open during COVID-19, but have removed the outdoor tables. They ask that you wear a mask and social distance. Strongly recommend you order ahead of time online. Admittedly, I didn't quite know what to expect the first time I enjoyed Lani Ice, but I quickly fell in love. This isn't your "regular" shaved ice, but has a unique, creamy element that just makes the different options a bit more sultry and heavy. The result is something that almost has a sorbet taste to it. The taste is really refreshing and soothing on a warm day. The location itself is literally a small shed/stand, with areas to sit around it, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. My hubby, two friends, and I stopped for dessert at this tiny shack on Saturday night. It was fairly busy, but they kept the line moving and the orders came out quickly. They were also incredibly friendly! There was some confusion with our orders, but everyone eventually got what they wanted. The shave ice was the proper consistency, and they offer a decent variety of flavors. They automatically include vanilla ice cream and condensed milk but you can order without either/both if desired. I enjoyed my small guava, passion fruit, piña colada (with both the ice cream and condensed milk). Refreshing and tasty. They use just enough syrup so it's not overly sweet, but still well-flavored. I appreciate how they keep it simple. They fill a specialty niche, and don't need to sell a ton of other stuff. They focus on the shave ice, but do also offer smoothies and açai bowls. As someone born and raised in Hawai'i, I grew up eating shave ice. I wasn't going to say anything, but my hubby mentioned it, and they seemed to get a kick out of it. I hadn't had an authentic Hawaiian shaved ice since the 1980s (in Long Beach Island), so after years of driving by this little oasis, we decided to stop. I am at a loss for words..... They make the BEST shaved Ice I have ever eaten! With vanilla ice cream in the bottom of the bowl, topped with snow, and up to three flavors (I got guava, papaya and strawberry)which is then topped with a drizzle of sweetened condensed milk.....omg My family and I just devoured it in silence, only interrupting the quiet with a few passionate moans and gasps from time to time. You must, must, must go and get one of these. It's a game changer and you will not regret the trip! I will be back!......soon! read more

Stopped on a whim. My son enjoyed a shaved ice - he was thoroughly satisfied. I gave the Açaí Bowl a try it was a healthy substitute to ice cream. It could be mistaken for a breakfast yogurt parfait. Topped with fresh fruit - it was extremely refreshing and energizing. Service is as outstanding and willing to explain the choice on the menu. Well done for roadside stand. Love this new little gem! I read about them in the local paper and wanted to give this family run, Eco-friendly business a try. The little shack is really cute and creative. My favorite item on the menu is the USA smoothie bowl, and I love it so much that I can't ever seem to order anything else. The fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, chocolate chips and other goodies are such a great combo. Perfect for a light treat on a hot day! I tried my hubby's water ice and was surprisingly impressed. I loved the soft fluffy ice and the flavors were really good, not like Rita's where you feel like you're eating artificial flavoring doused in food coloring. The ice cream on the bottom is a nice addition, I've never had water ice like Lani's. If you want a healthy summer treat, or a delicious, real water ice, give Lani a try. What a great little gem! Stopped by this place with the wife an kids for what we thought was a snow cone....well this aint your grandmas snow cone. This is magic shaved ice deliciousness! The kids and I had assorted shaved ice, they were flat out fantastic! I think its the drizzle of condensed milk or something that gives it depth and creaminess. My wife got something called smoothie bowl that was covered with fresh fruit, and granola. I will be getting one of those next time!
